Chapter 152: The Unruly Su Ruoyun

~6 min read 1,161 words

Huo Jingcheng carried Su Ruoyun sideways into the elevator; she was slight and light, holding her felt weightless, effortlessly so.

At midnight, there would never be a third person in the elevator.

Huo Jingcheng stood tall and straight, lazily leaning half against the elevator's rail, his gaze falling on Su Ruoyun.

In his arms, Su Ruoyun gripped his shoulders hard, her knuckles whitening, straining to climb up; the elevator's white light illuminated her small face brightly.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng's eyes flickered; he subtly changed his hold, setting her down so her feet stood firm on the floor, his arms tightening around her waist to keep her from falling.

His tall, slender frame blocked the harsh light; Su Ruoyun's arms naturally draped over his broad shoulders, her cheeks flushed from drink, her whole body exuding a strong scent of alcohol.

She looked slightly tipsy, with a hint of alluring charm, her beautiful eyes shimmering with spring water.

This made Huo Jingcheng lower his head to kiss her.

Su Ruoyun still had a trace of clarity, knowing she was still in the elevator, she quickly covered her mouth with one hand and pointed to a corner of the cabin ceiling, murmuring, "There's a camera."

Hearing that, Huo Jingcheng lifted his eyelids, glanced upward, then let it be.

After exiting the elevator, Su Ruoyun wanted to be held again, so her petite, slender frame nestled back into Huo Jingcheng's arms, leaning softly against him.

Huo Jingcheng obediently complied, bending his arms to lift her horizontally in a light, easy hold and stepped out of the elevator.

Upon reaching the apartment door, he had one arm around Su Ruoyun's shoulders, the other hooked behind her knee, his pinky still holding a cake box, leaving no free hand to open the door.

He "directed" the Su Ruoyun in his arms, patting her knee with his right hand, then jostled her back into his embrace, reminding her: "Enter the password."

Hearing that, Su Ruoyun obediently reached out, her fingertips jabbing randomly at the keypad, but the door gave no response.

Realizing she was the one causing trouble, she turned her head straight back, lifted her lashes with a solemn expression, met Huo Jingcheng's dark eyes, her gaze full of innocence and cluelessness, as if saying, "It's not my fault; the door just won't open…"

Huo Jingcheng's brows showed a hint of resignation; he smiled wryly, could only set the person in his arms down and personally enter the password.

With a crisp electronic chime, the password door finally opened.

The entryway's sensor light switched on, orange‑yellow light pouring down like a waterfall, instantly enveloping the two who had just entered.

Inside the apartment, the curtains were half‑drawn; outside, the moon was bright and stars sparse, a cool glow spilling in, mingling with the warm indoor wall lights to weave an atmosphere of "half sea, half fire."

Huo Jingcheng immediately set her on the entryway cabinet, then bent over carefully to take off her shoes.

Just as he lowered his head, Su Ruoyun seemed to lose all strength, unable to support herself, she slumped lazily onto Huo Jingcheng's broad back, like a zombie from Plants vs. Zombies.

Her canvas shoes were askew, one here, one there, twisted haphazardly, placed beside the neatly aligned leather shoes, creating an oddly harmonious mismatch.

After removing her canvas shoes, Huo Jingcheng hooked his hands left and right behind her knees, lifted her face‑to‑face, and strode toward the sofa.

The alcohol had gone to her head, her mind foggy, Su Ruoyun merely whined and cooed like a little chipmunk, rubbing her pale cheek against the man's solid, muscular chest, insisting, "I feel awful…"

Hearing that, Huo Jingcheng raised his hand, gripped the back of her head firmly, his thin lips brushed her forehead, then planted a hard kiss, saying, "Behave, I'll go make you honey water."

As he spoke, his hot breath repeatedly swept over her forehead, making her flinch slightly.

Having finished, Huo Jingcheng strode toward the kitchen with casual steps, casually undoing the button of his shirt collar.

Su Ruoyun sat dazedly on the sofa, her eyes following his retreating figure as he entered the kitchen.

She simply could not behave.

Because he wasn't familiar with the apartment's kitchen, Huo Jingcheng searched for a while before finding the honey.

By the time he returned with a cup of honey water, Su Ruoyun had already nearly finished half of the mousse cake.

Cream covered most of her delicate, pretty face and both hands, only her eyes and brows hinting at her identity.

Hearing the soft footsteps, Su Ruoyun gripped a silver fork and had turned herself into a little flower‑patterned cat.

Huo Jingcheng twitched the corner of his mouth almost imperceptibly, set the glass on the coffee table, pulled a few tissues from the box, and gently wiped her clean.

Without waiting for Huo Jingcheng to ask, she launched into her own explanation: "I accidentally dropped it; when I picked it up, it all fell apart."

The mousse cake had been on the coffee table; as Su Ruoyun bent to pour water, her elbow knocked it to the floor, the cream smeared the wall, so she just dove straight in with her mouth.

Huo Jingcheng casually agreed, his hands never stopping, focused on wiping the cream clean; as he worked, he suddenly curled his lip, his deep, magnetic voice tinged with a smile: "You've really turned into Santa Claus."

The tissue spread the cream evenly, leaving a white ring around her lips, like Santa Claus's thick white beard.

Finally, Huo Jingcheng sighed, leaned in slightly, and kissed her cream‑covered cheek, his lips filled with the sweet scent of cream.

After the kiss, Huo Jingcheng withdrew and continued the "cleaning operation" until her cheeks and both hands were spotless.

Huo Jingcheng rose to get a wet towel from the washroom for her.

The damp towel landed on her face; Su Ruoyun gazed at him quietly, so drowsy that a thin mist gathered in her eyes, and she muttered, "Why won't you kiss me?"

"…You want to kiss?" Huo Jingcheng pondered for a moment, the corner of his eyes lifting a hint of ripple, his brows rising slightly.

She widened her eyes, her round almond gaze fixed on him, then nodded twice like a chick pecking grain, looking utterly obedient.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng tugged at his lower lip, the curve carrying a careless ease, he lowered his head slowly, neither too close nor far, eyes closed, waiting for Su Ruoyun to take the initiative.

After about a minute, there was still no movement at his lips, so he leaned in a little more.

Yet he remained still and silent.

Huo Jingcheng slowly opened his eyes, his fine lashes lifting, his lids rising slightly.

The moment he opened his eyes, all he heard was Su Ruoyun saying:

"Tongue/head."
