Chapter 149: Law of Order
"Do you want to use Global Experience to strike the Order Knight?" Just as Robin was torn between heart and mind, hesitating.
Lao Mao walked over, and at a glance saw through Robin's inner turmoil.
"You've already mastered part of the Order; you should have reached the realm of a Legendary Knight, right?" Lao Mao's voice was low yet powerful, echoing through the ice cave.
Robin gave a slight nod, his expression showing fatigue from hard fighting, and said slowly, "In that fierce battle just now, I luckily broke through the realm."
Lao Mao listened, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes, stroked his chin, and thoughtfully said, "With your talent and opportunity, striking the Order Knight in the future isn't entirely impossible."
Robin quickly shook his head, "I only just brushed the threshold of the Order Knight; I'm still far from it."
Lao Mao grinned, showing a few yellowed teeth, his smile mixing teasing and a hint of nostalgia, "What a pity, the Round Table Council abandoned you, a promising seedling. Those old relics will probably regret it later." After speaking, he shook his head, seeming unimpressed with the Round Table Council's decision.
Then, his expression straightened, he turned and waved at Ai Lina and A Er Jie, his tone bearing unquestionable authority, "You two kids withdraw first; the upcoming battlefield is beyond your participation.
This fight will soon ascend to another level; with your current condition, staying would only add danger."
A Er Jie's mechanical eye flickered, the light flashing rapidly, as if a thousand words churned in his mind.
His core, severely overloaded from the previous fierce battle, emitted a faint hum, as if protesting his master's overuse.
If the fight continued, his body could collapse at any moment, becoming a burden rather than help.
In the end, he silently nodded, turned, and prepared to leave.
Ai Lina gripped the Sword hilt tightly, her knuckles whitening from the strain, her eyes full of resentment.
Her body trembled slightly; although the Sword of the End wielded massive power, its side effects left her frail, even standing felt wobbly.
She struggled to lift her head, looked at Robin, her voice low from weakness yet radiating resolve, "Come back alive. No matter what happens, return safely."
Robin met her gaze, nodded firmly, and declared, "Certainly. You can leave with peace of mind; once I resolve this completely, I'll come find you."
Watching Ai Lina and A Er Jie's figures recede, Robin inhaled deeply, turned, and looked at Lao Mao.
Lao Mao smiled, "We'll wait here for two days!"
Outside the ice cave, the biting snowstorm raged like a pack of snarling beasts, tearing wildly.
The world was a white blur, as if devoured by ice and snow. Amid the chaos, four silhouettes flickered, slowly stepping out of the storm.
Their powerful aura caused the swirling snowflakes around them to freeze midair, as if time itself halted.
The leading Knight wore heavy silver‑white armor, sunlight striking it and reflecting dazzling brilliance.
On the helm was a lifelike gryphon emblem, its wings spread as if ready to take flight in an instant.
This person was the third seat of the Round Table Council, the famed "Silver Crown" Jia Lei Si.
His presence was like a towering peak in this frozen wasteland, inspiring awe.
To his left stood a Wizard clad in a deep‑blue robe.
The robe was embroidered with mysterious star Runes that glimmered faintly with his movements.
The Wizard held a crystal‑clear staff, atop which floated an odd Magic Power crystal.
The crystal constantly shifted shape, sometimes like a raging river, other times like burning flame, mysterious and captivating.
He was "Star Track" Mo Lei, the youngest First Ring Wizard in the council.
Though young, his outstanding magical talent and deep grasp of mysterious forces earned him a place in the council.
On the right stood two Legendary Knights, like silent statues.
They were tall and massive, their armor impenetrable.
One bore an emblazoned blazing Sun disc on his armor, its light seeming able to pierce the endless snowstorm;
the other bore a curved Moon mark, exuding a cool aura.
They were the council's direct "Sun-Moon Twin Guard", silently guarding its secrets and glory, the council's most loyal Sharp Blades.
Jia Lei Si's gaze pierced the storm, landing on Lao Mao; his voice resonated through the helm, low as distant thunder, "Lao Mao, is the situation worse than expected?"
Lao Mao looked up at the sky, hummed, his face a mix of disdain and worry, "Grand Duke Frost Eagle has gone completely mad; he plans to feed the Mechanical God with the flesh of the entire Northern Realm. That fool is blinded by power, caring not how many innocent lives vanish because of it."
Mo Lei slightly frowned, tapped the ground with his staff, and a mysterious Magic Wave spread outward.
In an instant, the crystal reflected the eerie gear cloud layer above the Frost Fortress.
Within the cloud, massive gears turned slowly, emitting a cold, dangerous aura: "The Twin Moon overlap has come early; given the current state, we have at most twelve hours left. Once the Twin Moons fully align, the Mechanical God's arrival ceremony will be complete, and then the Northern Realm—and the entire continent—will fall into an irrecoverable calamity."
Jia Lei Si's gaze grew even more solemn; he tightened his grip on his long spear, its tip flashing coldly, "We must not let this happen. Lao Mao, tell us your plan; time is short."
The wind and snow continued to howl, yet the atmosphere among the five was colder than the frozen wasteland itself.
Robin, feeling helpless, muttered inwardly, "All I want is a peaceful life, earn some experience and grow stronger—why am I always thrust into the eye of the storm?"
He stared at the increasingly raging snow outside the ice cave, feeling fate constantly toyed with him, those once‑ordinary hopes repeatedly crushed by harsh reality.
Meanwhile, far in the Southern Realm, within the lavish Council Hall of the Wizard Council headquarters, the atmosphere was light and teasing.
The Wizard councilors gathered around a massive oval table, smiles of schadenfreude on their faces, as if the Northern Realm's crisis were merely an amusing farce.
"I hear the Northern Realm is now a chaotic mess; that Grand Duke Frost Eagle even dares to summon the Mechanical God—truly overreaching."
Aiwen Si Earth Dragon, a Wizard clad in a splendid robe embroidered with mysterious Runes, smirked, his eyes full of mockery.
He was a master of elemental magic, adept at commanding fire, water, wind, and earth; his spells were not only powerful but also spectacularly dazzling.
During a Southern Realm beast invasion, he single‑handedly summoned a massive wall of fire and a raging water vortex, repelling the beasts; his standing in the council was high, yet his demeanor was frivolous, always flaunting his achievements.
