Chapter 152: Bottom Card

~6 min read 1,134 words

"Shadow Devour." Lao Mao whispered.

The Shadow Beast surged, opened its massive maw, and a powerful suction burst from its mouth, swallowing more than ten mechanical wolves at once like a black hole.

The swallowed mechanical wolves struggled desperately in the darkness, emitting harsh metallic scraping sounds, but within moments their mechanical structures began to rapidly collapse, even the regenerative cores were completely annihilated, turning into wisps of black smoke that drifted from the Shadow Beast's mouth.

Just as the battle eased slightly from Lao Mao's intervention, a deep chuckle echoed from deep within the snow curtain, reverberating through the wind and snow, exuding endless chill and mockery.

"The Round Table Council... truly lives up to its reputation."

The crowd turned toward the voice and saw a figure cloaked in a silver‑gray robe slowly emerging from the snow‑filled mist.

His face was tightly covered by a mechanical mask, revealing only a pair of cold electronic eyes that emitted a faint blue glow, as if they could perceive everything.

Beneath the robe, intricate mechanical limbs could be faintly seen, producing a subtle gear‑turning sound with each step.

At his chest a pulsating dark‑red core was embedded, its light eerie and dazzling.

"Who are you?" Jia Lei Si's expression grew solemn, the Rune on his silver‑white heavy armor flared again, powerful Magic Wave radiated outward, he gripped his long spear with both hands, the tip pointing at the newcomer, his muscles taut like a beast ready to strike.

The masked figure chuckled lightly, the voice distorted through the mask's speaker: "Codename 'Weaver', collaborator of the Frost Eagle Duke..."

As soon as the words ended, his finger made a slight flick, as if triggering a mechanism.

The seemingly solid snow ground suddenly gave way, countless silver‑black mechanical spider silks shot up from below like arrows, moving at blinding speed, impossible to defend against.

The Sun‑Moon Twin Guard failed to dodge and were instantly ensnared by the silks.

The silks, like living things, frantically corroded their armor, emitting a "zzzz" sound, attempting to pierce inside and control their bodies.

Mo Lei, seeing this, grew frantic, brandishing his staff rapidly, chanting, "Disjunction Technique!"

A dazzling Magic Power beam shot from the staff's tip, striking the silks wrapped around the Sun‑Moon Twin Guard with precision. Yet, contrary to expectations, the silks only slowed for an instant before resuming their frantic erosion, as if Mo Lei's spell was a trivial disturbance to them.

"Useless, these silks are infused with Divine Metal; ordinary sorcery cannot destroy them," the Weaver said leisurely, his tone brimming with pride and arrogance, as if everything were under his control.

Robin felt the dire situation, the Order Power within him surged again, and in the blink of an eye a silver‑blue Order Blade materialized in his hand.

Runes on the blade flickered, as if recounting ancient Order laws.

He tapped the ground lightly, his form darting toward the Weaver like an arrow released, a biting cold wind howling behind him as if cheering his charge.

The Weaver watched Robin's swift assault, and the mechanical mask cracked open a slit, revealing a bizarre smiling visage inside.

His voice emerged from beneath the mask, bearing a strange intonation: "So you are the one the Watcher chose... finally we meet." The words seemed to conceal many unknown secrets.

Before the words finished, the Weaver's arms abruptly transformed; the original limbs twisted and reassembled, instantly becoming two gleaming serrated longswords.

The blades were lined with sharp barbs, exuding a chilling aura.

Almost simultaneously, Robin's Order Blade arrived, colliding heavily with the Weaver's serrated longswords.

"Clang!"

A deafening boom rang out, like a massive bell toll.

At the point of impact, sparks flew everywhere, Order Power and mechanical divinity interweaving and corroding each other.

Robin felt a powerful, eerie force travel along the blade, shaking his arm numb.

The Weaver's power far exceeded his expectations; each slash carried a strange vibration wave, an invisible force trying to pierce Robin's body, disrupting his internal energy balance and causing brief sluggishness in his movements.

"Do you think the Frost Eagle Duke truly cares about those two villages?" the Weaver whispered while clashing fiercely with Robin, his voice sounding as if it came from Nine Nether Hell, tinged with chill, "They were merely bait... the real ceremony has long begun."

Robin's pupils dilated sharply at the words, a foreboding feeling rising within him. He stared at the Weaver and demanded loudly, "What?!" At that moment his Order Blade's assault slowed slightly, his mind rattled by the sudden revelation.

The Weaver's electronic eyes flickered with cold light, like ghostly flames on a frosty night: "When the twin moons overlap, at the moment the Divine Throne descends, you are the final offerings."

His voice carried a hint of madness and triumph, as if proclaiming an inevitable fate.

Robin felt a chill surge from his feet straight up to his heart.

The others' hearts jolted as if struck by a heavy hammer.

Lao Mao reacted swiftly, shouting repeatedly, "Don't be fooled by him! If we fail, death is no different from being a sacrifice." His voice carried urgency and resolve, trying to rouse the panic the sudden news had caused.

"Sacrifice?" Jia Lei Si repeated the word, his silver‑white heavy armor suddenly flaring with dazzling light, as if to illuminate the icy wasteland.

Beneath the visor, a pair of eyes ignited with cold fury, containing both wrath toward the enemy and resentment against fate.

He stepped forward, his overwhelming force cracking the ground under the Order Knight's pressure, fissures spreading outward like a spiderweb.

The massive Sword in his hand was entwined with materialized law chains, each radiating potent Order Power.

"Then let's see who the true offering is!" Jia Lei Si roared, his voice booming like a great bell across the surroundings. He raised the massive Sword high and struck down with force; the blow seemed to contain world‑shattering power, the very space tearing apart, emitting a harsh clang.

A crack instantly appeared on the Weaver's mechanical mask, spreading rapidly like spider silk.

The Weaver's complexion shifted slightly, he hurriedly retreated while crossing the serrated longswords to block.

Jia Lei Si's attack was overwhelming; although he barely blocked the blow, he was still knocked back several meters, the snow beneath exploding into a void, snowflakes scattering.

At that moment, the Sun‑Moon Twin Guard struck simultaneously.

The Sun Guard clenched a massive hammer in both hands, the hammer blazing with scorching white flame as if the sun's power were condensed within; the Moon Guard wielded twin blades, the blades entwined with eerie blue frost, exuding a bone‑chilling cold.

Their attacks synchronized perfectly, one hot and one cold, one hard and one soft, forming a flawless killing net that surged toward the Weaver with ferocious speed.
