Chapter 32: Audience
Robin nodded at Eric, his gaze sweeping over the beasts' corpses littering the city below, especially those massive, fur shimmering with a peculiar sheen, the high‑rank beasts. His voice was low but urgent: "There are quite a few high‑rank beasts down there."
Eric instantly understood Robin's meaning, excitement flashing in his eyes. He grabbed the still‑dazed Tomson and whispered, "Let's go down and clear the battlefield! The materials from these high‑rank beasts are rare treasures; Robin's medicine dish depends on them!"
Tomson froze for a moment, then recovered, nodding quickly, "Right, right, let's go! Don't let anyone beat us to it!"
The two rushed down the city wall, heading straight for the corpses of the high‑rank beasts.
Robin watched their backs, a faint smile curling his lips, and felt a sigh of relief in his heart.
These high‑rank beast materials are crucial to their cultivation, especially the energy‑rich beast bones and beast blood, which are the best ingredients for brewing medicine dishes.
Meanwhile, outside the city, the militia and strong‑armed townsfolk had already begun clearing the battlefield.
They mainly collected the corpses of low‑rank beasts; although less valuable than the high‑rank ones, their sheer numbers would keep the whole city fed and clothed for days to come.
As for the corpse of the Earth Rampage Bear, several knights carefully surrounded it.
Its size was as massive as a mountain; even in death it still exuded a chilling, oppressive aura.
Damia Great Knight Leader stood beside the bear's corpse, solemnly directing a few knight apprentices to bind the body with special ropes, preparing to transport it back into the city.
"The corpse of this Earth Rampage Bear must be delivered to the Lord's Manor as soon as possible," Damia Great Knight Leader said gravely, his tone heavy, "Lord Bloet is in the critical stage of advancing the Great Knights; this monster's corpse is vital to him."
Robin felt a slight stir in his heart upon hearing that.
He had long heard that Lord Bloet was pushing toward the Great Knight realm, and as a high‑rank magical beast, the bear's Magic Core and Essence Blood were undoubtedly the best aid for breaking through a bottleneck.
If the breakthrough succeeded, Lord Bloet's strength would increase dramatically, and the safety of the entire territory would be better secured.
"Robin, are you alright?" Lily's voice came from beside him, interrupting his thoughts. She held a clean cloth, gently wiping the sweat from Robin's forehead, eyes full of concern.
Robin smiled and shook his head, "I'm fine, just a bit tired. A short rest will do."
Lily exhaled in relief, a smile spreading across her face, "Your performance just now was amazing! We all saw it; that arrow was simply divine!"
Robin waved his hand, his tone modest, "Just luck. Without everyone's cooperation, I couldn't have hit the bear's eye."
Lily shook her head firmly, "No, that's your strength. Robin, you've already far surpassed us."
Robin said nothing more, merely patting Lily's shoulder lightly, his gaze turning toward the battlefield outside the city.
Eric and Tomson were busily gathering materials from the high‑rank beasts; their movements were swift and practiced, clearly not their first time doing this.
"Robin, look!" Eric shouted excitedly, holding up a bone that glimmered with a faint silver light, "It's a Silver Moon Wolf's spine! Supposedly it's the main ingredient for Knight Apprentice Secret Medicine!"
Robin's eyes lit up instantly.
The Silver Moon Wolf is an extremely rare high‑rank beast; its spine is indeed one of the ingredients for refining Secret Medicine, and he hurriedly called out, "Be careful, don't damage it! It's a treasure!"
Tomson also came running with a pile of beast hides and blood, his face brimming with excitement, "Robin, look at these! All high‑rank beast materials, enough for us to use for a while!"
Robin nodded, feeling a surge of satisfaction inside.
With these materials, he could brew an even stronger medicine dish, helping everyone boost their strength faster.
At that moment, Damia Great Knight Leader's voice rang from afar, "Robin, come over here."
Robin quickly stood, brushed the dust from his body, and hurried to Damia Great Knight Leader's side, "Great Knight Leader, you summoned me?"
Damia Great Knight Leader nodded, a hint of approval in his eyes, "Your performance today was outstanding. I've already recommended you to Lord Bloet; he may meet you personally."
Robin was startled for a moment, then felt a surge of excitement.
Lord Bloet is the supreme ruler of this territory; being granted an audience with him is undoubtedly a great honor.
"Thank you, Great Knight Leader!" Robin said solemnly, his tone grateful.
Damia Great Knight Leader smiled, patting Robin's shoulder, "It's deserved. But you must work even harder from now on. Lord Bloet has high expectations of you."
Robin nodded, his gaze steady, "I will."
The next morning at dawn, Robin, under Damia Great Knight Leader's guidance, set out for the Lord's Manor.
After a night's rest, his stamina had recovered most of its strength; though his muscles still ached slightly, his spirit was especially invigorated.
This audience with Lord Bloet was not only recognition of his performance yesterday, but also possibly a chance to change his destiny.
The Lord's Manor, located at the heart of Winston City, is a towering castle‑like structure.
Its lofty walls are built of heavy blue‑gray stone, carved with intricate heraldry symbolizing the Bloet Family's glory and history.
The castle's great gate is forged of refined iron, flanked by fully armed guards whose eyes are sharp as hawks, clearly elite, at worst knight apprentices.
Damia Great Knight Leader led Robin through the long corridor, finally arriving at a spacious study.
The study's furnishings are simple yet elegant; several oil paintings depicting battle scenes hang on the walls, and the bookshelves are filled with hefty tomes.
In the center of the room, behind a massive oak desk, sat a broad‑shouldered middle‑aged man.
He wore a deep‑blue noble robe, a golden badge on his chest bearing the Bloet Family's emblem. His face was stern, his eyes deep, as if he could see through a person's heart.
Though he sat quietly, he gave off an aura of unspoken authority.
"Lord Bloet, Robin has arrived," Damia Great Knight Leader bowed slightly, his tone respectful.
Lord Bloet looked up, his gaze falling on Robin, studying him carefully before a faint approving smile appeared, "You are Robin? I heard you pierced the Earth Rampage Bear's eye with a single arrow yesterday—truly a hero in his youth."
Robin quickly stepped forward, kneeling on one knee, respectfully saying, "Lord Bloet, you flatter me; I only did my duty."
Lord Bloet nodded, his voice tinged with a hint of emotion, "It's rare for a young man to possess such strength and character. Damia has reported my detailed account of your deeds; I am very pleased with you."
Robin felt joy, yet kept a respectful expression, "Thank you for the praise, Lord Bloet."
Lord Bloet stood, walked to Robin's side, extended his hand to help him up, "No need for formalities. I summoned you not only to meet this young hero, but also to entrust you with a task."
