Chapter 116: The Rebellious Brat
Turning his head helplessly, the old jailer Wang Liang, whom he hadn't seen in a long time, stood in the shadows behind him. His gray-white body appeared eerie and terrifying in the darkness, and the faint black light in his eyes was chilling.
"Now?"
Uchiha Gin sighed inwardly; he had almost forgotten this old geezer entirely, so why had he come knocking at a time like this?
Wang Liang nodded expressionlessly, and without a word, he transformed into a mass of black mud, wrapped Uchiha Gin inside, and then vanished into the darkness of the corridor.
Wrapped in the black mud, Uchiha Gin rubbed his chin, feeling a headache. He really didn't want to have anything more to do with the sinister Wang Liang or the insane Uchiha Yao.
He had assumed that after six years of no contact, the old geezer had long since kicked the bucket, but he hadn't expected him to still be alive.
As Uchiha Gin pondered whether to hit Wang Liang with an Amaterasu, he hadn't even made a move before he found the scene around him shift, and he had once again arrived at the abandoned dungeon where Uchiha Yao was imprisoned.
The once-sturdy old man was now hunched over, the wrinkles on his face terrifyingly deep, and his only remaining eye was stained a faint gray-white. His entire being was filled with the aura of death, as if he would return to the west in the next second.
"Gin, I'm not going to make it."
Seeing Uchiha Gin brought before him, the old man raised his head with some difficulty, his hoarse voice devoid of any emotion.
"Cough, cough, I have already sensed my own death, but I am not reconciled; I have yet to see the destruction of Uchiha Tajima with my own eyes."
"But there's nothing I can do; I can't beat Uchiha Tajima."
Hearing the old man start to play the victim, Uchiha Gin spread his hands to show he was powerless.
"Has that mission already begun?"
The old man ignored Uchiha Gin's rogue behavior, shifting the topic to the mission.
"What mission?"
Uchiha Gin's heart skipped a beat, but he didn't show it on his face, instead putting on an expression of not understanding.
"Heh, you don't need to play dumb. Wang Liang has already told me; Uchiha Tajima shared that mission with you today, didn't he?"
Regarding Uchiha Gin's slippery performance, the old man did not fuss over it too much, instead caring more about the progress of the mission.
Wang Liang, is it? Glancing at the silent old jailer standing in the corner, Uchiha Gin felt a sense of vigilance rise in his heart.
This guy had actually been able to hide under his nose and eavesdrop on his conversation with Uchiha Tajima, and he hadn't noticed a thing.
"That's right, Uchiha Tajima told me about that mission today."
Seeing that he couldn't bluff his way through, Uchiha Gin had to confess, then mentioned casually,
"Has this clone of yours been lurking by Uchiha Tajima's side to pass information to you?"
"Don't try to fish for information from me. Wang Liang is a clone of my will; he tells me everything, and I am perfectly clear on everything that happens outside."
Uchiha Yao said with an arrogant look, as if everything were under his control.
Does he really tell you everything? Casting a subtle glance at the statue-like old jailer, Uchiha Gin muttered to himself, this thing is definitely up to no good, and even now, it's still playing this old geezer for a fool.
"This is our last chance. I will arrange for Wang Liang to go with you; you will never be able to detect his stealth methods. When the time comes, you only need to restrain the released Nameless, and with the three of you attacking from all sides, you will surely make Uchiha Tajima die without a burial place."
To think he would be teamed up with the "filial son" wearing the Wang Liang skin—Uchiha Gin wanted to refuse, but he currently had no means to suppress the other party.
As a creation of Yin-Yang Release, the "filial son" could not be completely destroyed by ordinary means; he only hated that he wasn't a sugar-free ordinary person who could just grab the Black Zetsu with a blade.
"Alright, alright, I'll do my best."
With zero motivation, Uchiha Gin said perfunctorily. He had to find a way to wake this old geezer up; otherwise, he would keep being led by the nose by Wang Liang, dragging his old bones around every day thinking about revenge at his age.
Having finished his instructions, Uchiha Yao sat back in his chair and closed his eyes, signaling for them to leave. Wang Liang, at his side, wrapped Uchiha Gin up once more and sent him out of the dungeon.
"What a pain!"
Uchiha Gin, who had managed to exploit a bug for eternal life, had been running into nothing but annoying things these past few days.
Sometimes he really wanted to take Senju Itama and hide away in some uninhabited place, but since he had finally transmigrated, he wanted to see all the interesting characters from the original work.
Snuffing out the fleeting thought of escaping, Uchiha Gin scratched his curly hair and strolled down the main street of the Uchiha clan grounds, when suddenly he saw two familiar figures in the distance.
Senju Itama and a girl with long purple hair were huddled together, squatting at a stall and picking something out.
Out of curiosity, Uchiha Gin walked over quietly, wanting to see what was going on.
"Sister Chiri, don't you think this doll is cute?"
Senju Itama held a green plush toy with an excited face, trying his best to sell it to the purple-haired girl beside him. However, looking at the design of the doll, it probably wouldn't be liked by a young girl; after all, no girl would like a caterpillar.
"It is quite cute. This worm will surely turn into a beautiful butterfly."
The purple-haired girl did not show the look of rejection he had imagined; instead, she took the doll with a gentle expression, examined it carefully, and said.
Unexpectedly, this purple-haired girl actually liked this caterpillar doll too, making Uchiha Gin, who was hiding to the side, sigh that birds of a feather flock together.
"Boss, give me two!"
Seeing that the girl's aesthetic was on the same page as his own, Senju Itama waved his hand and bought two on the spot, the hallmark of someone rich and willful.
"Coming right up, that'll be fourteen thousand ryo."
Seeing a big sale, the boss was grinning from ear to ear. He skillfully wrapped up the two caterpillar dolls and handed them over, and Senju Itama paid the money readily.
"Come again next time~"
The boss smiled as he counted the banknotes in his hand, his red hair particularly eye-catching in the crowd.
"Sister Chiri, this one is for you."
Senju Itama smiled and stuffed a caterpillar doll into the purple-haired girl's arms. Before she could refuse, he continued,
"It's not my money anyway, so feel free to accept it. It would be a waste not to spend that guy's money."
"You brat, spending my money to pick up girls and then badmouthing me? Take this righteous flick to the forehead!"
Hearing Senju Itama's rebellious remarks, Uchiha Gin finally couldn't hold back, stepping out to sanction this brat who was more Hyuga than the Hyuga themselves.
"Ah?"
Ambushed, Senju Itama wilted the moment he saw Uchiha Gin, but the Senju clan was known for being tough—even if his body yielded, his mouth couldn't be soft.
"You curly-haired baboon, not going to work in broad daylight and running around stalking underage girls—you're such a hentai!"
"Huh?"
When did he ever stalk an underage girl? Uchiha Gin was left baffled by Senju Itama's words.
"I—I mean, you actually stalked Sister Chiri! No wonder you're thirty and haven't had a girlfriend yet; so you have this kind of hobby."
Realizing he had misspoken, Senju Itama stammered, his eyes darting around as he pushed the bewildered purple-haired girl forward, righteously denouncing Uchiha Gin's behavior.
"So Mr. Gin is actually this kind of person!"
