Chapter 7: Uchiha
Another morning, after his morning training, Yuzhibo Dongshilang was drenched in sweat as he stepped into his family's small courtyard.
"I'm back." He stepped into the entrance, took off his shoes, and after entering the house, he found that breakfast was almost ready.
"Go wash up first, breakfast will be ready soon." A busy sound came from the kitchen.
Not long after, Yuzhibo Dongshilang, feeling refreshed, sat at the dining table and began to enjoy the hearty breakfast. Since he started preparing to become a ninja,
Uchiha Meixiang's three daily meals were exceptionally meticulous: milk, bread, beef, mutton, fish. Various vegetables and fruits were paired in a very balanced way. Feeling this silent care, Yuzhibo Dongshilang felt a warm sensation. His unease upon first arriving in this foreign place also lessened considerably.
"The clan's preschool training has ended, and Dongshilang has successfully refined chakra. From today onward, my sister will be on regular duty at the Police Force."
Looking at the little boy happily eating across the table, Uchiha Meixiang spoke. Perhaps knowing that Yuzhibo Dongshilang speaks little and rarely interacts with peers his age, she assumed he was still immersed in the grief of losing his mother, not minding table manners, and simply wanted to communicate more with him.
Unknowingly, two months have passed since arriving in this world. From the initial confusion and unease to now being at ease, Yuzhibo Dongshilang has completed the shift from an ordinary Earth person to a native of the Hokage world……
Moreover, the one‑month preschool training concluded yesterday. The refinement of chakra succeeded on the second day of training.
This result isn't the best—it falls short of those geniuses who succeeded in refining chakra within a day or even a few hours after first contacting it. Nor is it poor; within the Uchiha clan it counts as mid‑upper level, considerably better than those who only barely succeeded near the end of the month‑long training.
Among the twenty‑plus children who trained alongside him, one succeeded in refining chakra that very night. After him, another five or six managed it within a week. The remaining children's success rate dwindled further as time went on.
In the end, 13 people—seven boys and six girls—successfully refined chakra. The rest were eliminated. Among these 13, it's unknown how many will become genin, and finally endure the harsh life of a ninja.
They also taught basic taijutsu, basic swordsmanship, shuriken throwing, and seal‑drawing lessons, plus a fire‑release scroll for each student.
Among these, taijutsu and seal‑drawing are the fundamentals of the fundamentals for ninjas, while swordsmanship and fire release were tailored to the Uchiha's traits.
As a holder of the kekkei genkai Sharingan, even an ordinary Uchiha's "eye power" surpasses that of ordinary ninjas.
The Uchiha's hereditary shuriken‑throwing skill and exquisite swordsmanship are also the clan ninjas' secret weapons for overcoming enemies. Added to their powerful fire‑release ninjutsu, the Sharingan's awakening brings formidable insight and the ability to cast Sharingan genjutsu without hand seals.
Thus the Uchiha have produced one after another "perfect" ninja proficient in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu—these are also the root of the Uchiha's strength.
As for the fire‑release scroll each person received, it records the Uchiha's hereditary basic fire‑release ninjutsu: the Great Fireball Technique, the Dragon Fire Technique, and the Phoenix Flower Fire Technique.
For the children of the Uchiha clan, fire release—and even other five‑element escapes or genjutsu—are not particularly precious. One's own natal family, or nearby relatives and friends, more or less have some collections. After all, becoming a ninja for a thousand years has been the Uchiha tradition; the household may retain various ninjutsu, genjutsu, or training experiences as heirlooms. What the clan truly strictly controls are all kinds of secret or forbidden techniques, the secrets of the Sharingan, and the Sharingan‑exclusive genjutsu that accompany it!
"Come to think of it, I still don't know what Sister Meixiang does in the Uchiha Police Force—is she clerical, on patrol, or a combat specialist tasked with capturing criminals?"
"Sister, I belong to the Third Squad under the Uchiha Guard Corps, mainly responsible for medical support!"
Hearing Dongshilang's interest in her work, Uchiha Meixiang explained to him.
As it turns out, the Uchiha Police Force, which had little screen time in the original work, is mainly divided into three squads. The First Squad primarily handles the capture of criminals and the various high‑difficulty missions assigned by the Hokage to the clan. The Second Squad mainly does daily patrols and guard duty, also doubling as spy‑catching. The Third Squad, to which Uchiha Meixiang belongs, is responsible for the Leaf Village Prison and medical logistics, among other non‑combat tasks.
From this we can see the Uchiha's main composition: before the village was built and after the Guard Corps was organized, the First Squad mainly handled combat tasks; the Second Squad mainly handled family defense, mines, field patrols, and information gathering as well as mission acceptance; the Third Squad mainly handled barriers, seals, sensing, medicine, secret drugs, and the manufacture of various ninja tools. Their respective three major branches together constitute the Uchiha clan.
As for the clan chief's position, it is always taken by the strongest person in the Uchiha. As for father‑to‑son inheritance or master‑to‑disciple transmission, such practices are completely unworkable among the Uchiha. Hence the Uchiha clan's history has seen multiple internal conflicts.
Within the clan, the various major branches and the work of their members, although somewhat affected by changes after the founding of Leaf Village, have nevertheless seen many things passed down.
Take Uchiha Meixiang, for example: her family previously mainly handled medicine and the production of secret drugs. And Uchiha Dongshilang's father, before his sacrifice, was one of the leading figures of the Third Squad; otherwise his household would not have retained so many ninjutsu, genjutsu, and various seal and barrier scrolls.
"It seems our fixed notions are wrong! I used to think the Uchiha clan had no medical ninjas, but now I find that idea rather laughable."
The Uchiha and Senju have clashed for nearly a thousand years. Over such a long span, the clan's various ninja abilities have developed considerably. For instance, if medical ninjutsu didn't exist, how could Madara Uchiha have succeeded in transplanting his eyes? Moreover, consider the later Dai Tu's deployment of the Uchiha Blaze Formation. One would expect achievements in non‑combat fields such as barriers and seals as well.
A ninja family, especially a powerful one like the Uchiha that stands at the pinnacle of the Ninja World, brings obvious benefits to each member. It means that any family member who wishes to grow will encounter far fewer detours on the path to strength, and need not, like ordinary ninjas, risk undertaking numerous dangerous missions just to acquire ninjutsu.
These can also be considered Dongshilang's cheat……
