Chapter 105: Mind Refining Method

"Oh?"

The middle-aged man sized up Lin Qing and suddenly laughed.

In the next instant, the students who had been sitting in rows inside the meditation chamber, each looking at Lin Qing with surprised eyes, suddenly vanished like bubbles.

In the blink of an eye, only Lin Qing and the middle-aged man remained inside the entire chamber.

Lin Qing glanced at the empty meditation chamber and couldn't help but sigh, "So it really is like this. I couldn't detect it for so many days..."

After the Star-Transmitting Tower accepted him as its master, on the first day he came to this Mind Meditation Class, Chen Guang realized that the surrounding students were merely illusions of his own; in reality, only he and this middle-aged man were inside the entire chamber.

Therefore, it was clear that the other party had come specifically for him.

But since Zhao Jiayi had introduced him, and the other party had always maintained goodwill, and this was his last day, he naturally needed to ask clearly.

"Do not blame Xiao Yi."

The middle-aged man smiled and said, "It was I who told her about this Mind Meditation Class. She is just a foolish child."

Lin Qing nodded slightly.

After spending half a year together, he naturally understood what kind of person Zhao Jiayi was.

The middle-aged man did not press Lin Qing on how he had figured it out, but simply said softly, "There is no other meaning. I just wanted to meet you, Jiayi's friend."

"What is your relationship with Jiayi?" Lin Qing asked.

"I am naturally her father." The middle-aged man smiled slightly.

An alien too? A thought stirred in Lin Qing's heart.

"You are about to leave Lin'an City, and coincidentally, I am leaving soon as well."

The middle-aged man said softly, "Xiao Yi trusts you, her only friend, very much. As a father, I also wanted to meet you. Cleansing your mind for these days can be considered a small meeting gift."

"It was very useful. Thank you," Lin Qing said.

"I have not been a very competent father." The middle-aged man sighed and said, "Since I am leaving finally, I will give you a piece of advice and a gift."

Advice and a gift? Lin Qing looked at the other party.

At least... the Order Level had not changed.

"Try not to expose Xiao Yi's identity as a Telepathic Awakener," the middle-aged man said. "She is a very pitiful child, destined to suffer the trampling of fate from birth. Her life may be very short. I hope you will treat her well."

Lin Qing did not quite understand what he was saying.

"Consider this gift as my reward."

The middle-aged man took out a thick book and a scroll from somewhere, handing them to Lin Qing.

"This book is a dictionary I compiled," the middle-aged man said gently. "Once you learn the characters in this dictionary, you can begin to attempt this Mind Refining Method."

Lin Qing looked at the dictionary and scroll in his hand with some surprise.

A dictionary? Mind Refining Method?

Could it be... the language and characters of Zhao Jiayi's civilization?

"Perhaps the entry into this Mind Refining Method is somewhat troublesome, but with perseverance, success will always come."

The middle-aged man instructed softly, "Even just entering the method will provide you with considerable help. As for whether you can truly succeed in cultivation... that depends on yourself."

Having said this, he paused. "If you truly manage to succeed in cultivation, you can try the method at the end of this Mind Refining Method scroll. It should be of great benefit to you. However... after learning it, you must destroy this scroll."

Lin Qing pondered for a moment and said, "Jiayi said she has a genetic disease. What is the situation with that?"

"There is no harm in telling you." The middle-aged man sighed. "This is a genetic virus rooted deep within our bloodline. The purpose of implanting this virus is 'selection'."

He said slowly, "Unless it is a member of our own race or an outsider who meets the conditions, once we become too close to others, we will experience extreme pain."

"Meet the conditions?" Lin Qing looked at him.

"The condition is... innate soul strength far exceeding that of ordinary people, and the soul's faction must be similar," the middle-aged man said.

Lin Qing was stunned.

He did not understand what a soul was, but he was a person from a hundred years ago who had lived another life; perhaps his soul truly far exceeded that of ordinary people?

"As for other matters..."

The middle-aged man slowly shook his head. "It depends on Xiao Yi's own choice."

Zhao Jiayi's father had already left the meditation chamber.

Lin Qing sat cross-legged in the empty chamber, looking at the dictionary and scroll in his hand, lost in thought.

"Master, Zhao Jiayi's father is definitely a Telepathic Awakener as well, but I cannot detect his strength."

Chen Guang's voice sounded in his mind. "You can look at the dictionary first. I will back it up for you. Otherwise, keeping a dictionary from an extraterrestrial civilization will be a huge trouble if discovered."

Lin Qing hummed in agreement and immediately opened the dictionary, beginning to flip through it at a glance of ten lines.

Of course, with his current memory, even with the efficient memory technique of the Memory Master, flipping through at a glance of ten lines would not allow him to memorize it immediately.

After all, this dictionary was too thick, and compared to Chinese, the content was very complicated.

Lin Qing had only roughly gone through it once; now it was merely short-term memory. To turn it into semantic memory and long-term memory, he still needed some time to familiarize himself with it.

After he had completely gone through it, only twenty minutes had passed.

"This language and script is very systematic and concrete, with a very high level of perfection."

Chen Guang said, "Some characters look a bit like the script of the Wisdom Star people. I feel there might be some connection... As for other things, it is hard to say, but their civilization's foundation must be very profound. I wonder what civilization it is."

Lin Qing was lost in thought.

But there was no need to think too much; learn it first and then worry about it.

"Order."

He called out Entropy Reverser in his heart and found that the item 'Mastery of Special Extraterrestrial Civilization Language and Script' had already appeared in the list of advanceable items.

"Advance: Mastery of Special Extraterrestrial Civilization Language and Script."

As his will moved, the method for how he could master this language and script immediately appeared in his mind.

It is also very simple; thoroughly familiarizing oneself with these languages, scripts, and their related grammars is enough.

This is not mathematics; these languages and scripts only require rote memorization.

So it is also very simple.

As Lin Qing advanced this language and script, a vast amount of memories instantly surfaced, causing the memories in his mind that were already shallow and blurred to rapidly become profound.

It was as if this were his native tongue.

Immediately, Lin Qing flipped through this dictionary again at an even faster speed.

At the same time, as his gaze swept over it, the memories already profound in his mind surfaced accordingly, and the completion progress of this language and script began to increase at a flying pace.

In a short while—

【Completion of 'Mastery of Special Extraterrestrial Civilization Language and Script' achieved】

Lin Qing revealed a faint smile.

Subjects that rely on rote memorization are simple; unlike mathematics, where even advancing them is troublesome.

Unfortunately, unless one possesses talent in special subjects and can enter the Urban Circle, mastering them holds little significance and only delays cultivation progress.

Moreover, from his current level of cognition, those who enter the Urban Circle university can only move within the designated areas of the campus, are forbidden from leaving the school, and are sent directly home during holidays; it is completely military-style management.

He could not accept treatment akin to imprisonment.

"Why are you looking at it again?" Chen Guang asked in confusion. "I have already recorded it for you and made a backup; from now on, I will teach you."

"I have already memorized it."

Lin Qing's hands suddenly expanded several times their size, simultaneously taking on a metallic sheen; immediately after grabbing the dictionary and kneading it dozens of times, he completely turned it into fine powder.

Afterwards, he scattered it into the trash can not far away.

"Such strong memory?" Chen Guang was somewhat surprised but said no more. "Look at this Heart-Refining Method again."

Lin Qing opened the scroll again and found a star map on it, with explanations of extraterrestrial civilization scripts below.

This is a method purely used to temper the spirit and purify the heart.

First, one must complete 'Heart Purification' before one can see the image of the Cosmic God formed by the stars connected on the star map; otherwise, only those with awakened mental power can find the Cosmic God image on this star map.

This is like a visual illusion; if one is not aware of it, no matter how carefully one looks, it is difficult to discover.

And Lin Qing understood.

The process of listening in the Heart Meditation Class during this period was actually Heart Purification.

"Cosmic God image?"

Lin Qing carefully examined this star map.

Gradually, his consciousness seemed to be sucked into it; in a trance, he saw countless dazzling stars stretching across the deep void, these stars combining and connecting with each other, seemingly capable of transforming into various images of Cosmic Gods.

Lin Qing closed his eyes, roughly scanned the stars on this star map, and felt it was utterly ordinary again.

He immediately carefully read the lines of cultivation instructions below the star map.

These words were not the cultivation method of the 'Heart-Refining Method'.

The true Heart-Refining Method is hidden within the star map: the visualization image formed by that one Cosmic God image.

Merely finding the Cosmic God image formed by individual stars already tests spatial imagination and perceptual acuity.

The key is—

Three hundred and eighty stars are needed to connect into one Cosmic God image, but the thousands of stars on this map actually contain hundreds of Cosmic God images.

Only one Cosmic God image is correct.

If one is a mental power awoken, one only needs a single glance to find this correct Cosmic God image within the star map.

Otherwise, one can only proceed slowly, trying gradually.

"Finding the correct Cosmic God image from the star map allows one to obtain a visualization image."

"Visualizing day and night, perhaps one day the Cosmic God within the visualization image will 'activate', beginning to temper the heart and spirit."

"At this point, one has entered the door of the Heart-Refining Method."

"After successfully cultivating the Heart-Refining Method, one can awaken mental power."

The more Lin Qing looked, the more alarmed he became.

This so-called Heart-Refining Method is actually used to awaken mental power?

"Master, this should be a spiritual cultivation method from another extraterrestrial civilization."

Chen Guang said, "I heard that the civilization of the Wisdom Stars also has a spiritual cultivation method, but only a small portion of the Wisdom Stars have the possibility of receiving instruction."

Lin Qing took a deep breath, slowly calming his surging emotions.

It can be said that Earth's gap in evolution compared to extraterrestrial civilizations is too large.

Only the Morning Sun Cultivation Method can allow people to transform and evolve to the limit of the human body, but it can only increase the gene awakening probability by 10%.

As for the spiritual aspect, there is absolutely no shortcut; only those born with keen spirits have the possibility of awakening mental power.

The spiritual cultivation method of the Wisdom Stars is completely a secret never transmitted.

And now, he had actually obtained a spiritual cultivation method of an extraterrestrial civilization? "It truly is a grand gift..."

Looking at the scroll in his hand, Lin Qing understood this was his opportunity to awaken mental power.

However, one must first enter the door.

The Heart-Refining Method is still hidden within this star map; he hasn't even obtained it yet, let alone entered the door.

"Cosmic God image?"

Lin Qing did not waste time and began to carefully observe the individual stars on this star map.

But he understood that merely obtaining the Heart-Refining Method within it would probably require a very long time.

The thousands of stars on this star map can combine to form hundreds of Cosmic God images, but only one of them is correct.

Once one perceives an incorrect Cosmic God image, it will cause slight damage to the spirit.

Such minor injuries still require a day or two to recover.

So, just finding the correct visualization diagram might take quite some time.

Only those with extremely keen perception can, in one breath, locate the true Cosmic God image hidden deep within.

"However, I can also try..."

Lin Qing, however, had an idea in his mind.

He immediately gazed at the star map on the painting and began to observe carefully.

"Locate 380 stars in one breath."

Lin Qing gazed at the stars one by one, relying on intuition to find the Cosmic God hidden within them.

Gradually—

The stars were linked together, slowly revealing a faint, towering corner of Bingshan.

【Current Order Level decreased by 0.1 level】

Suddenly, a blood-red prompt floated before Lin Qing's eyes.

Lin Qing immediately closed his eyes and stopped searching.

The Order Level recovered accordingly.

"Ha... it really works."

A hint of a smile appeared at the corner of Lin Qing's eyes, and he understood his guess was correct.

As long as there is harm or threat to oneself, it will cause the Order Level to drop, at minimum by 0.1 level.

Once he links the stars and discovers the wrong Cosmic God image, it will damage his spirit, naturally causing the Order Level to drop.

"This way, efficiency will be much higher."

Lin Qing immediately began to observe carefully.

Anyway, it won't damage the spirit; if wrong, just start over! Not long after.

"Found it..."

On the star map, within that boundless universe, thousands of stars shone simultaneously. A massive Cosmic God sat atop the vast deep space, quietly imprinted into Lin Qing's mind.

"Huff..." Lin Qing slowly exhaled and opened his eyes.

Next, he would meditate on this Cosmic God image day and night; perhaps one day he could make this Cosmic God 'activate' and begin tempering his heart and spirit.

By then, he would truly be considered an initiate.

"After becoming an initiate, I must still constantly temper my heart and spirit, but as long as I advance, I can directly awaken telekinesis..."

Lin Qing felt anticipation in his heart.

Immediately, he took one last look at this star map and found that the charm of the stars had vanished; he could no longer see the hidden Cosmic God image.

"It seems it can only be taught once..."

Lin Qing suddenly realized, then immediately tore this star map into pieces and crumbled it into powder.

Who knows what will actually happen after successfully cultivating and awakening telekinesis, following the method at the end of this map?...

The next day.

Morning of June 27.

An Inspector from the Patrol Headquarters personally arrived, bringing Patrol Captains from the Jiangnan region who had met the conditions over the past half-year. They boarded a headquarters warplane and flew toward the Patrol Headquarters.
