Chapter 11: Black Fist

~6 min read 1,199 words

“Huh!”

The muscular, powerful figure exploded forward with such speed that the falling confetti was blasted open into a hollow tunnel, the rushing air current sending paper scraps swirling and scattering with the smoke.

He was a tall man in a black sweatshirt, his entire body bulging with muscle, broad and sturdy as a bear.

The distance between him and Lin Qing was only seven or eight meters; suddenly he lunged forward like a tiger descending from the mountain, his right fist clenched, elbow cocked, his thick, powerful arm raised high, revealing his calloused elbow joint.

Like a beast baring its fangs!

Yet Lin Qing showed no reaction whatsoever—he still faced away, staring at his phone.

In that instant, the tall man’s eyes flashed with malice; his right arm muscles swelled fully, and in one swift motion he thrust his elbow forward, smashing with brutal force toward the back of Lin Qing’s neck!

With his years-honed killing technique, he was confident this single strike would shatter the temporary inspector’s cervical vertebrae.

Just then—

“Hmm?”

As if he had eyes in the back of his head, Lin Qing suddenly dropped into a crouch, dodging the elbow strike while simultaneously spinning his taser backward and stabbing—

With a crackle of electricity, the tip of the taser struck the tall man behind him, instantly erupting in a burst of blue light.

“Damn!”

The tall man reacted instantly, his pupils contracting sharply.

But the intense current had already surged through his body, causing all his muscles to involuntarily contract and spasm, his entire frame trembling uncontrollably.

Thud—he crashed face-first into the booth ahead, his body collapsing to the floor, still convulsing.

Lin Qing sidestepped, then stepped forward two paces, pressing the taser against the back of the tall man’s neck and cranking it to maximum power, unleashing its full electrical energy without mercy.

Under one hundred thousand volts, the tall man screamed and spasmed for a few seconds, then passed out within mere seconds.

【Current Order Level increased by 0.4】

At that moment, a line of green text appeared before his eyes.

But Lin Qing didn’t stop—he continued pumping current into the tall man’s head.

“Lin Qing.”

Only when he heard Inspector Han’s voice behind him did he halt, retracting the taser and standing up.

Unfortunately, the taser issued to inspectors was designed for high voltage and low current—only meant to immobilize, not injure.

Its capacitor capacity and discharge rate were both low; the current output was insufficient to kill.

Still, directing it straight at the head like this caused severe damage—this man might not die, but his brain was likely a mushy pulp.

“Are you alright?”

Inspector Han moved swiftly, arriving at Lin Qing’s side.

The other officers rushed over as well; two of them immediately stepped forward and cuffed the unconscious man’s hands and feet.

“I almost died.”

Lin Qing said, still shaken: “This guy suddenly charged out and ambushed me. Luckily, I was just recording a selfie, and caught him sneaking up from behind.”

He glanced down at the unconscious man on the ground, his voice trembling: “His movement was professional—he clearly trained in specialized killing techniques. He meant to snap my neck with that elbow strike. He was trying to kill me.”

“Selfie?”

Inspector Han glanced at him, noting he was indeed handsome.

“I recorded it.” Lin Qing immediately opened the selfie video he’d deliberately captured.

In the video, Lin Qing was seen recording himself.

Suddenly, the lampshade shattered, smoke erupted, and colorful confetti rained down as the tall man burst into frame, immediately launching his vicious elbow strike.

Then the camera shook violently and went black—nothing visible, only the crackling sound of electricity.

“Lucky break.”

Inspector Han watched the video, then slowly smiled: “Good thing it was you—your reaction and movement were fast enough to knock him out instantly.” With his experience and sharp eyes, he could tell at a glance: the tall man’s movements were brutal, his speed far beyond ordinary people.

An ordinary person, even if they’d spotted the attack during a selfie, wouldn’t have had time to react.

Only Lin Qing, having perfected the Four-Six Training Method, had undergone a complete physical transformation—his neural reaction speed and movement were significantly faster than normal—allowing him to respond in time.

Otherwise, anyone else would already be dead, neck shattered.

“Lucky…” Lin Qing muttered, still shaken: “Almost done for.”

Though he was faking it—he’d anticipated danger and deliberately pretended to take a selfie to monitor his back—he didn’t know the exact threat, only suspected it was likely human-caused.

After all, in this era, acquiring explosives or firearms was far too difficult.

If even a small gang could get them, that’d be absurd.

And the Order Level had only dropped by 0.1—had it been a gun attack or bomb, it should’ve dropped to 0.

So, it was almost certainly someone trying to kill him.

“Group Leader.”

!.

At that moment, Qin Qin swiftly examined the unconscious man on the ground and said: “This man is extremely strong—multiple joints show wear and calluses. Judging from his scars and calluses, he’s likely a black-market boxer.”

"Black Fist?" Inspector Han nodded slightly. "His movements are ruthless and precise—clearly killing techniques. He's probably one of those underground black-market fighters."

Lin Qing stood silently to the side.

In a direct fight, he might not have been able to beat this man.

Even though he’d mastered master-level combat and had extensive killing experience, survival in the apocalypse wasn’t about fighting—he naturally couldn’t match someone who lived for life-or-death battles.

Besides, people differed in physique and strength; even with the same Four-Six Training Method, explosive power could vary greatly.

But victory isn’t determined by who hits harder.

So he stood. The other lay on the ground.

“But why did he attack Lin Qing?” Qin Qin asked, puzzled.

Inspector Han paused, then swept his gaze over the crowd and said coldly: “All members of the Blue Scarf Gang, step forward. I know you’re here, Camel—come out now, quietly.”

“Officer.”

A thin, shaved-head youth stepped forward with a nervous smile: “What can I help you with?”

“Are you the leader of the Blue Scarf Gang?” Inspector Han asked the thin youth.

The thin youth, Camel, grinned: “Just a casual group for drinking and fun—I’m just the one who started it. Can’t call myself a leader.”

“Hmph…”

Inspector Han sneered, uninterested in arguing, and asked directly: “Since he’s on your gang’s turf, you must know him, right?”

“This… Officer, you’re wrong. I don’t know him.”

Camel looked innocent: “The bar owner isn’t me—how can this be your turf? We’re just customers here. I don’t even know who comes in.”

“Is that so?” Inspector Han stared at him without expression. “You don’t know how the lampshade exploded? You didn’t arrange this?”

“I really don’t know.”

Camel sighed helplessly: “We’re law-abiding citizens—how could we possibly associate with someone who attacks law enforcement? You agree?”

“Law-abiding?” Inspector Han sneered.

He knew that with these gang scum, you got nothing by asking.

So he didn’t waste words—he turned to Lin Qing: “Lin Qing, he attacked you because he was afraid of being investigated. Use your identification system to check him.”
