Chapter 3: Uchiha's Final Weapon?

~7 min read 1,210 words

"Lin"

Within the Uchiha Clan, Obito was sitting in his room, staring at a photo and grinning foolishly.

The photo was a group picture of the Watergate Class, but Kakashi's head was covered with tape by him.

His eyes kept fixed on Yanahara Lin, as if seeing her would instantly lift his mood.

"Obito, you're at home... huh..."

At that moment, a voice suddenly shattered his daydreams, instantly pulling him back to reality.

Obito was yanked out of his fantasy in an instant; looking up, he saw a boy staring at him in confusion, along with the photo in his hand.

He recalled that the boy was also a member of the Uchiha, but not a ninja.

"Hello, may I ask what this is about?"

Obito immediately flipped the photo over and asked in a slightly stiff voice.

Perhaps because his thoughts were interrupted, or because his secret was discovered, he felt somewhat annoyed and also embarrassed.

"Actually, someone asked me to tell you that in two days you need to gather for a mission, so get ready."

The boy immediately averted his gaze; he knew his behavior was a bit rude, and quickly explained the purpose.

"A mission?"

Obito was momentarily stunned, then snapped back, shouting excitedly.

"Finally I can go on a mission again; I'm sick of staying home!"

Frontline troops rotate their posts; it's a normal procedure, and ninjas do need rest.

The so‑called 'shearing the wool' just leaves the wool behind; they don't even grant rotating rest, which is essentially keeping the sheep.

But Obito didn't really like such rotations; the war was painful, yet at least he could be with Lin.

Now they're being deployed again; can I not be happy?

"Since you know, I'll take my leave then."

The Uchiha boy didn't quite understand why Obito was so excited; isn't war something everyone avoids?

He wouldn't have any serious illness, would he?

He didn't say much, just nodded and prepared to keep his distance from the guy.

"By the way, who told you to inform me?"

Just as he was leaving, Obito suddenly asked curiously.

"It's Yuzhi," the boy thought for a moment and answered directly.

"That guy Yuzhi?"

Obito frowned, suddenly realizing a serious problem.

"Wait, how does he know I have a mission?"

"Because Yuzhi went out with your teammate, so he asked me to pass the message to you."

The boy didn't think much, simply shrugged and said.

"By the way, the girl in the photo whose face you didn't cover with tape."

As soon as the words finished, the boy saw Obito turn completely red, which startled him.

He was now certain that Obito must truly have a serious illness!

With that thought, he calmly and quickly left the spot, not wanting to be entangled by Obito.

Obito, meanwhile, ignored the boy's departure, clenching his fists as his breathing grew rapid.

"Uchiha Haori!"

——

"Weird, why are my ears constantly hot—someone scolding me?"

After escorting Yanahara Lin and, in a way, doing it for himself, Yuzhi sent her home and then returned to the Uchiha.

He found it odd, though; all night he felt his ears were a bit warm.

He was too lazy to bother, as long as he had an enjoyable night.

"Character design really is a good thing,"

As he headed toward the Uchiha library, Yuzhi muttered to himself.

Since entering the ninja academy, he had figured out one thing.

To tackle this new scenario in the ninja world, one must develop new strategies, identify the public's pain points, and lay out new tracks.

Finally, after careful deliberation, he knew what to do—craft a good character design!

Just like Minato Namikaze; whenever he's mentioned, people instantly think of 'powerful', 'sunny', and the like.

When it comes to the Uchiha, it's 'beauty', 'strength', 'tragedy', as well as 'madness', 'crazed laughter', and so on.

Yuzhi, as a Uchiha, has the 'beauty' part, but the rest doesn't really relate to him, and he wouldn't dare emulate Minato Namikaze's flamboyance.

The persona he crafted for himself is very simple—reliable.

One must admit, the choice is wise.

Even if he's been screwed over by the Eagle Faction, even if the war has hardened his heart, it doesn't affect the ninja ranks below the top echelons.

This has given him many friends; even if some are merely surface brothers, they can sit down and chat from elementary school rubber‑eraser theft to choosing burial grounds in old age.

Except for that guy Obito.

"Hold on, Obito isn't scolding me, is he?"

Though doubtful, Yuzhi overthought it; he had already arrived at the Uchiha library.

After a quick check, he entered smoothly and began searching through and flipping the materials inside.

Even though the desire to come here was voiced before he obtained 'Zhuo Er Extraordinary', he would still say it even after obtaining it.

The materials here on the application of the Sharingan are extremely important to him!

He awakened his Sharingan early, and its usage rate is high, giving him a solid foundation.

The problem is that before he opened his eye he was ignored, and after he opened it he was on the battlefield, leaving him little chance to study the relevant knowledge properly.

Now that he has a chance, he naturally wants to supplement properly,

Supplementing and expanding with these materials can make his eye development more complete, and its effectiveness will be better.

It can also help him reach his limit faster, so he can advance directly!

"But the data is too scarce, and much of it is overly basic."

After reading another note, Yuzhi felt satisfied but still furrowed his brow.

The collected data here is indeed scant; many pieces of information stop abruptly at Two Tomoe.

The Three Tomoe content is also pitifully sparse, let alone the Mangekyou Sharingan data.

"Did Madara Uchiha get swept away together when he left?"

Thinking of that possibility, Yuzhi instantly felt like a resident of northern Anhui—unable to stay.

If you're leaving, just go; if you have the skill, burn it all in one go?

Why strike so precisely and take all the good stuff outright?

"Fine, let it be, it's about the same for me now."

Yuzhi sighed helplessly; he still gained something tonight, and for his Two Tomoe level, it was certainly enough.

As for what follows, he'll have to figure it out slowly on his own.

With that in mind, Yuzhi simply returned all the materials.

But as he passed an inconspicuous shelf at the innermost part of the library, his peripheral vision seemed to catch a scroll hidden deep within it?

"What is this?"

Yuzhi furrowed his brow, first returning the materials, then walked back and pulled the scroll out.

The scroll was covered in dust, looking as if it hadn't been tended to for ages.

Moreover, the scroll bore no markings; no one knew what it actually was.

Someone else would probably have no interest in such a thing, since everyone who comes here has their own purpose.

However, this sparked Yuzhi's curiosity; he sat down on the spot and carefully opened the scroll.

But when he saw the information inside, he was stunned.

"Uchiha Ultimate Weapon?"

"Uchiha No Name?"

"What is this now?"
