Chapter 375: Not Even Worth Calling a Warm-up

"The MVP was ultimately awarded to Sima Laozei, who had the highest output in the entire match!"

"Well deserved. Although Ma Ge made one or two mistakes this game, the flaws do not hide his excellence; his two team fights were both fantastic!"

"Well, Jiao Shen's LPL debut after his return—he didn't even snag a single MVP, which really surprised me; you know, last year when he was with G2, he actually took over ninety percent of G2's MVPs."

"So what does that show? It shows that our LPL's level is high!"

"That's right. Then the stage ahead is already ready; let's take a look at the post-match interview and hear what Xiao Duan and Jiao Shen have to say to everyone."

"Huh, the MVP didn't come up?"

"VG's first match—we definitely need to interview Jiao Shen first; I believe that's what all the viewers are looking forward to."

"The camera cuts back to the live scene."

"Liang Yan and Xiao Duan stand beside Ren Dong."

"With this comparison, everyone realized that Liang Yan is also quite tall; Ren Dong is a big guy around 1.8 meters, and when Liang Yan stands next to him, they actually look about the same!"

"By comparison, Xiao Duan next to them indeed looks a bit awkward."

"However, just a few comments appeared in the bullet chat; at this moment no one really cared about that, as the live VG fans cheered loudly, with the beasts' roars rising and falling."

"Jiao Shen is awesome!"

"Jiao Shen, lead VG to win a championship!"

"Some even shouted to treat Liang Yan to a meal—so socially confident it's unbeatable."

"Ren Dong looked down at the crowd with a smile, waiting for the audience's voices to subside a bit before raising the microphone:"

"The audience here is truly extremely enthusiastic; I believe the two players beside me have already felt it. Alright, then let's have the two players greet everyone."

"Hello everyone, I am VG's jungler, Firrrrrre."

"In the audience, someone immediately screamed:"

"He's the World's No. 1 Jungler!"

"Liang Yan looked over there, smiled, and then raised the microphone:"

"I never said I wasn't, either."

"Hahahahaha……"

"The fans went crazy."

"It was Xiao Duan's turn; he said shyly:"

"Hello everyone, I am VG's support, Duan uh Caveman."

"The audience also enthusiastically shouted that Xiao Duan is awesome."

"Ren Dong controlled the pace:"

"Thanks to the two players for their self-introductions; actually I'm quite curious—our Xiao Duan picked this ID, does it have any special meaning?"

"Um, actually there's no special meaning; I just feel that, uh, when I'm laning, I might play more aggressively, giving a rather savage feeling."

"Oh~, so that's why it's called Caveman. Alright, then let's begin our formal interview; first question, I want to ask Jiao Shen: after returning to the LPL, compared to the LCS region, what are your different feelings in all aspects?"

"Liang Yan actually gave it some thought:"

"VG's food is pretty good."

"Oh?! The first point is actually about the food?"

"No, but I really do feel that way, because VG's food conditions are indeed the best I've ever seen……"

"Europe."

"G2 base, boss's office."

"Shit!"

"Ka Lao Si angrily pounded the table and shouted a curse."

"Then he picked up his phone, dialed a number, and began to curse furiously:"

"Bastard! What kind of chef did you find for me?! Not reliable at all! I'll screw your grandfather! I'm going to sue you! You just wait!"

"Papapapa, Ka Lao Si unleashed a furious tirade, spraying the other side with dog-blood all over."

"Over here at the scene, Ren Dong took turns asking the two of them several questions, and finally asked Liang Yan:"

"Alright, thanks for Xiao Duan's answer; then the final question: I want to ask Jiao Shen, for this season, what personal goal do you have?"

"Well, I said it before in a livestream: the goal is just to avoid relegation."

"So even after today's victory over EDG, your goal hasn't changed at all?"

"No, today's match felt like it didn't even count as a warm-up; there was hardly any pressure."

"Ren Dong was stunned on the spot."

"He was completely at a loss."

"The previous sentence said the goal was to avoid relegation, but the next sentence said today's match didn't even count as a warm-up!"

"You guys just played against last year's summer championship winner! Although their World Championship performance wasn't great, they still made it to the S-Season quarterfinals, a powerhouse team in the LPL, EDG!"

"You beat EDG, yet you say your goal is still just to avoid relegation?"

"What the hell does that mean?!"

"Boom—both EDG fans and VG fans erupted in an uproar."

"The bullet chat in the livestream also instantly exploded."

"【Hahahaha】"

"【As expected of you, an interview genius!】"

"【EDG: I've already given my all, yet I still can't even let Lord Jiao Shen have his fun? Truly regrettable】"

"After the interview ended, a certain hot search list:"

"【How to view the post-match interview remarks of famous League of Legends professional player Firrrrrre after his LPL debut today, in which he defeated EDG?】"

Gao Zan answered:

You all misunderstood, Jiao Shen was the S League champion last year, so the 'avoid relegation' he mentioned actually means maintaining the championship.

This view was recognized by the vast majority of people, receiving countless likes.

Someone also seriously analyzed:

【Firstly, we can rule out the idea of guaranteeing not to drop to LSPL; it's absolutely impossible.

【As someone who has been following Jiao Shen since the G2 era last year, I can confidently say that Jiao Shen is definitely not a humble person; on the contrary, he is actually very arrogant. Although he looks harmless, he is actually extremely confident, whether in post-match interviews or pre-match trash talk, he always speaks his mind. For example, the trash talk he made today against EDG, and that remark that doesn't even count as a warm-up, do you think he would be humble?】

【With this lineup, VG absolutely cannot be relegated, even if VG this team is toxic, it's still impossible!】

【A lineup worth several tens of millions just to buy a relegation spot? Is the VG management stupid?】

【Moreover, Jiao Shen couldn't possibly be unaware of EDG's strength in the LPL!】

【VG can beat EDG; even if today is in an explosive state, and later the state worsens, the worst-case prediction, I think a playoff spot is still stably attainable.】

【From this perspective, Jiao Shen saying his goal is to avoid relegation makes it clear: he wants to guarantee that after joining, he won't let VG's performance get worse, at least achieving last year's performance, and that's what avoiding relegation means.】

【Last year VG was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.】

【So the correct answer is: avoiding relegation = guaranteeing a playoff spot.】

This view also gained much agreement; looking at the trend of increasing likes, it might even surpass the highest likes, indicating that mainstream opinion is leaning toward agreeing with this view.

What opinion do EDG fans have?

EDG fans are busy finding someone to blame, and have no time to worry about other teams' affairs.
