Chapter 51

~7 min read 1,390 words

Six minutes and over ten seconds, the card reached level six.

Someone hid under the tower, their silhouette repeatedly jumping sideways at the edge of the mist.

At that moment, Liang Yan had just finished clearing the three wolves, was walking toward the river, preparing to counter a wave of F4, and upon seeing the card reach level six, immediately sent a warning to the top and bottom lanes:

"Be careful, the card might fly."

AP was also frantically pinging.

But as soon as the ping was finished, an eye symbol appeared above the heads of the G2 team.

"Shit! They've come to grab us!"

Mithy's cursing sounded in the headset, Liang Yan went up the slope from the river, slipped into TSM's upper jungle, switched the screen to take a look.

The card flew to the spot behind the river wall to the left-front of the blue side's lower tower; judging by the duo's position, even if Morgana had a shield, at least one of them would have to die.

"Don't count on luck, just go for one."

Liang Yan reminded.

In the end, Mithy chose to sell himself, giving up his head.

Zven managed to survive, hiding behind the tower and whispering:

"This card hero is so brainless, why isn't the fist nerfed? At least nerf the teleport range of its ultimate, you damn stupid hero, blah blah blah..."

Liang Yan saw that the area near the lower tower was completely dark; he originally wanted to warn Zven that the enemy might continue to flank and kill him, but after thinking it over he decided against it, letting Zven get caught perhaps not a bad thing—taking a loss in scrims might let him gain wisdom for the official match.

So he ultimately said nothing.

After taking down F4, he started running up and pinged the enemy's top tower.

"Should we dive the tower?"

Lao Zhang asked in the headset.

"Hmm."

Liang Yan responded, glanced at the mid lane minion wave, and then said:

"Can Lu Ka come over?"

Come on, come on, let's go!

AP was shouting, having somehow learned a weirdly pronounced Chinese phrase from somewhere; it sounded rather flavorful...

Shah pushed the minion wave to under the tower, without greedily checking the tower's HP, directly took a jungle shortcut and chased the male gunner who had already run behind Da Long Keng.

The two of them came to flank the first tower.

TSM naturally had an early warning; the captain had already hidden behind the tower, his HP was a bit over three-fifths, roughly around 600 HP or so.

At the same time, on the minimap bottom lane side, Bu Long's icon emerged from the gap before the blue side's bottom second tower; even Zven, low on HP, would hardly survive even with a flash.

On the top lane side, as Lao Zhang pushed the minion wave into the tower, Svenskeren's Mang Seng's silhouette would intermittently appear and disappear at the edge of the minion's vision.

Liang Yan glanced at AP's position, issued an attack signal, and together with Lao Zhang moved forward, approaching the TSM jungler far behind the tower.

The two TSM members started running toward the second tower.

AP's Shah was in position, his silhouette appearing at the exit before the second tower; as soon as he appeared, he directly unleashed a WEQ dash towards them.

Three-man flank, two-man catch on the top lane.

A line of sand soldiers appeared out of nowhere, launching a stunningly fierce charge at the two TSM members.

However, AP's Shah was still not proficient enough.

His combo linkage had a flaw; when the EQ dash transitioned into the R cast, there was a brief stutter. Although this stutter time was extremely short, perhaps even less than 0.2 seconds, the dash process itself also takes time, which already gave the opponent too much reaction time.

Whoosh twice, Mang Seng and the captain simultaneously turned into yellow light and vanished from their original spots; when they reappeared, their position was already behind a line of sand soldiers.

The impact of 【Forbidden Army Wall】 struck empty.

The only means to initiate a team fight was ineffective; thereafter, trying to kill the two TSM members became impossible. Ka Lao Si stood behind AP, shaking his head regretfully.

AP probably felt quite embarrassed as well, silently venting his frustration onto the red side's minion wave that had just come up.

"It's fine, we used two flashes, we came out ahead."

Liang Yan offered a word of comfort, helped clear the lane, then signaled toward the enemy's red buff camp:

"Lu Ka, come over; they've respawned the red buff—I'll take the big one, you take the small one; let's piss them off."

"Coming, coming!"

AP's emotions came and went quickly; in the blink of an eye he forgot the previous loss and came over gleefully.

But he unexpectedly didn't take the small one, instead helped whittle down the big one to low health and then left.

Liang Yan was a bit surprised:

"Why aren't you eating it?"

"I'm giving it to you."

AP chuckled, saying as he walked alone back toward the mid lane.

"... Alright, then be careful."

Liang Yan used a smite to kill the red buff, began clearing the two small monsters, and didn't forget to remind AP, meaning to warn AP to watch out for Mang Seng circling from the jungle to gank.

Because Bilse's card had already returned to Zhong Lu, after pushing the minion wave to under the blue side's first mid tower it disappeared, and Mang Seng's position was likewise unknown.

Liang Yan's trinket was still on cooldown, so he couldn't place a ward deep in the jungle to track Mang Seng's movements; he could only give a verbal reminder.

But Liang Yan didn't expect that the Ou Mei players' nerves would be so thick; even a player of AP's caliber had this sort of bad habit.

AP didn't even notice what Liang Yan's last sentence said.

So when the opposing side suddenly launched an attack, he couldn't escape.

Shah had just descended the slope, preparing to return from the river to Zhong Lu.

Mang Seng appeared from the direction of the F4 camp.

AP's heart gave a jolt.

Earlier, while he was drifting and pushing the enemy, he accidentally took a tower hit, and during the lane he also lost some HP to minions; now he has just over half health.

Although Mang Seng hasn't hit level 6 yet, if he lands a full combo, killing a Shah without his ultimate is easy.

AP was quick-eyed and quick-handed, he tossed a sand soldier forward and used 【Sand Shift】 E to close in, pulling away from Mang Seng.

Just after using E, Card came sprinting out from the river brush ahead.

Perkz was caught out of position.

AP was sandwiched from two sides, his skills were still on cooldown, and he then exploded in anger.

The moment Mang Seng appeared, Liang Yan already knew Shah had no chance of survival, but he still intended to go over, because Mang Seng was low on health and not yet level 6, while his own Male Gun had just reached level 6 after taking down that F4.

Furthermore, Card had just returned from ganking bottom lane, and his health wasn't full.

Also, there's one detail: during the previous 3‑vs‑2 engage, the Captain's ultimate had already been used to clear the minion wave, so there's no need to fear being backed up by the Captain's ultimate.

It was a local 1v2.

With the Male Gun's current gear, playing well isn't impossible……

In an instant, Liang Yan cleared his thoughts, he shot and destroyed one red buff monster, left the other untouched, then raised his gun and rushed over there.

The distance was about two thousand yards, and he'd be there soon.

AP also knew he was surely doomed, but seeing Liang Yan approach and knowing Liang Yan had a plan, he desperately ran this way.

It only took three or four seconds, and AP went down quickly.

Liang Yan seized the moment when the enemy mid‑jungler's abilities were mostly on cooldown and rushed in.

He used 【Smoke Bomb】 to block Mang Seng's vision, 【Desperate Last Stand】 sprayed out, 【Quick Draw】 point‑blank, one shot, and drove Mang Seng down to one‑third health.
