Chapter 601: Returning Home!

~7 min read 1,252 words

Why does Liang Yan only teach CNB vision tactics and nothing else? Because basic vision control truly doesn't require brains, nor does it need strong execution; during regular practice matches the coach holds a notebook, stares, and reminds, letting the players form a habit, so when the match comes they can naturally do it.

And as long as they lose fewer people early on, CNB in this Brazil Region can already be said to have an unbeatable start; that's enough. Too complex things can't be taught in a short time—what tactics, what lineup routines—these are only useful if one has their own understanding and strong execution, unlike vision placement which can be memorized by rote.

As for how effective the teaching is afterward, it depends on how much the opposition can absorb. If they are serious enough and fully absorb it—not only accepting it wholly but also understanding by analogy why it should be done—then Liang Yan feels CNB winning a championship in Brazil is no problem.

It's not that Liang Yan looks down on the Brazil Region; objectively speaking, the Wildcard Region really is at this level. In Bo1 matches, perhaps they can win a game or two against stronger regions by cheesing, but if it's Bo5, frankly, even the LPL only needs to bring over a strong team from a secondary league to face the Wildcard Region's champion team, and they can almost guarantee a Bo5 win, because the two sides' foundations differ by far more than a little bit.

After the review (teaching) ended, both teams ate dinner together at the CNB base, stayed another night, and the next morning VG's party said goodbye to the CNB base.

Still the same bus, Luonaerduo personally sent the VG members to the airport.

This trip, VG directly returned home.

Just before parting, Luonaerduo shook hands with each VG member; when it came to Liang Yan, he clasped Liang Yan's right hand with both hands and shook it for a while:

"Thank you so much, our players have learned a lot. They used to think matches were just about instinctive operation, but now they finally realize the brain is also important."

Liang Yan smiled: "They're very talented, just lacking systematic training."

Gao Jun chimed in from the side: "Later you can send us more practice match recordings; we might be able to help with remote review."

Luonaerduo's eyes lit up instantly, smiling and showing a mouthful of big white teeth:

"Can we? Won't it be too much trouble for you?"

Since Gao Jun had already said that, what could Liang Yan say? He inwardly complained that this guy was taking on tasks for no reason, but kept a smile on his face:

"It's fine; just watching recordings for review isn't troublesome."

But what he really thought was, if they actually sent over the recordings, he'd just dump them on Zhu Xiaolong or Tabe—anyway he wouldn't waste time on this.

"That's wonderful!"

Luonaerduo laughed, then turned his head to look at Gao Jun,

"By the way, I have a trip to China coming up; I'd like to visit your base then—would that be convenient?"

"Convenient, convenient—welcome anytime!"

Gao Jun's eyes also lit up, and he had in fact been waiting for those words, because he'd checked last night—Luonaerduo indeed would have a China trip soon; he guessed Boss Lu must have known from the start, which is why he said that.

"When the time comes, give me a heads‑up and I'll arrange it!"

Luonaerduo nodded, then patted Liang Yan's shoulder:

"Then it's settled. See you in China."

"See you in China."

After waving goodbye, the VG members passed through the gate and boarded the plane.

With a whoosh, the plane slipped into the clouds and kept flying east.

Gao Jun leaned by the window, flipping through a photo on his phone of him and Luonaerduo, wondering whether to get the pictures printed and framed for his office wall, or hang one at home… After pondering such thoughts, Gao Jun put aside his wandering ideas, opened his phone's notepad, and began drafting an outline summarizing this CNB exchange trip, preparing in advance to report to Boss Lu in person.

Sitting in the same row as Gao Jun but with a few seats between them, Ma Ge and Tabe sat together; both were not very talkative in life, and at that moment they rested with eyes closed.

Xiao Duan and the Marquis sat a few rows apart from them, discussing the topic of Brazilian barbecue versus Chinese skewers and Korean barbecue.

Liang Yan, meanwhile, sat with Zhu Xiaolong.

Liang Yan also closed his eyes to rest, while Zhu Xiaolong had already opened his notebook, but was merely reviewing the notes Liang Yan had taken when teaching CNB vision control; in fact he already knew those points by heart, but Zhu Xiaolong considered himself slow, feared he might have missed or forgotten something, and so reviewing had become his habit.

Gangzi got lucky, sitting in the emergency exit row, which just happened to be the flight attendant matchmaking seat; although this guy dared do nothing in front of the pretty flight attendants—not even say hello—let alone flirt, but whenever he lowered his head he could see a pair of black‑stockinged beautiful legs, making this flight trip not so boring after all.

Wang Liangyi sat alone in the last row, flanked by two hefty Hei Ge, staring blankly at his phone, his face full of despair…

This Brazil trip, at last, had ended; for the VG members it was clearly perfect, and for Gao Jun it even thoroughly exceeded expectations.

……

Shanghai, Pudong Airport.

VG's flight landing time had been leaked by someone unknown; when the party pushed their luggage cart out of the international arrivals hall, the reception hall was already filled with a large crowd of fans.

"VG!!!"

"Jiao Shen!!!"

"VG awesome!!!"

"Welcome triumphant return!!!"

The fans shouted in a chaotic mess.

Fu Lan Duo pushed her cart from behind, startled by the scene: "Holy crap, so many people?!"

Xiao Duan wore a smug grin: "Stay cool, Qiang Ge—our status is different now!"

Ma Ge pushed his sunglasses, walked forward expressionlessly, but observant people could see his mouth twitch.

The Marquis, however, remained calm; he'd seen plenty of arrival scenes during his LCK days, yet he couldn't help saying: "There are even more people than when SKT came back home after winning the championship."

In the crowd, someone held up a sign high that caught Liang Yan's interest—it was a chibi drawing of him, but only the head was his; the body was a mantis with three pairs of wings, its claws gripping a male gunner's big gun, and beside it was a line of small text, unfortunately hard to make out.

Liang Yan couldn't help laughing and gave that fan a thumbs‑up.

His gesture instantly provoked loud cheering from the male fans and shrieks from the female fans.

Gao Jun led the way ahead, walking while taking a call. On the other end was Lu Wenjun; because it was too noisy here, Gao Jun had to switch to speakerphone to hear clearly.

Lu Wenjun's voice sounded helpless: "Don't come back yet—several hundred people have gathered at the base gate; let the security persuade them to leave first, then wait for my call."

You guys, don't come back yet, several hundred people have gathered at the Ji Di gate, wait for the security to first persuade the people to leave, you wait for my call.
