Chapter 699

Homme decided to give the third match to EDG, not for any other reason, but out of pure rational consideration.

Although if EDG won, the match would end directly, and WE would completely lose the chance to appear in the finals, which is naturally regrettable; but objectively speaking, the third match would be extremely tough to play, even Liang Yan said the third match was very difficult, EDG would have to get a lucky burst……

Homme indeed did not think EDG could win, estimating that in the end WE would still have to go up and play a match, and at that time, whether facing SSG or KT, it would be much easier than the third match.

Doing a favor, showing face, and possibly even getting a kill, helping LPL sweep LCK 3‑1—why not?

That's how Homme thought.

……

"Welcome back!"

In the third match, LCK sent out SSG.

A few minutes later, the ban‑pick phase ended.

EDG: top lane Maokai, jungle Mang Seng, mid lane Lu Xi An, bottom lane Ezreal + Alistar.

SSG: top lane Kennen, jungle Rek'Sai, mid lane Orianna, bottom lane Ashe + Thresh.

The moment both lineups were locked, Miller shouted in astonishment in the LPL broadcast: "EDG has once again pulled out an extremely aggressive lineup!"

In the LPL restroom, Homme scratched his head, "Isn't this the lineup WE is best at? EDG can play it too?"

On VG's side, Zhu Xiaolong nodded thoughtfully: "Sure enough, EDG's team spirit is the top‑lane treant……"

Everyone burst out laughing.

The fight began.

Just two minutes into laning, the first kill occurred.

"Crown bro thought he was just trading a wave of health, never expecting Scout to be this fierce; after being hit by Lu Xi An's combo, his health dropped to only one quarter before he reacted, used flash to try to escape, but Scout flashed right after him! He fired a shot, took two steps, then another Piercing Holy Light, and the final two shots completely emptied Orianna's health!!"

"Solo kill!!!"

"My goodness Scout!!!"

"This Lu Xi An is too brutal!"

"But Lu Xi An has to play like this! The thrilling lane confrontation is exactly what this hero was designed for!"

Ai Luoli lacked the ability to turn the tide and save the world, but adding to the win was exactly his forte; seeing the mid lane gain a huge advantage, he immediately began doggedly targeting Crown for ganks, and from this wave onward, by the eight‑minute mark Ai Luoli had ganked mid three times in six minutes—absolutely insane!

"Ai Luoli is here again, my goodness! And this time Mang Seng came with his ultimate! Orianna's just‑ready flash was scared away by a single eye poke!"

"Ah?! Crown bro feels scared stiff!"

"But even if Scout used flash, he had no intention of letting him go! He directly activated Holy Spear Baptism and surged forward!!"

Rat‑tat‑tat‑tat‑tat…… blazing bolts poured down like a rainstorm, converging into a dazzling path of light that closely followed Crown!

Crown twisted left and right but couldn't shake it off, getting hit by over eighty percent of the bolts!

Ai Luoli saw an opportunity, chased all the way to the tower and struck again!

"This ultimate! Damage maxed! It directly halved Orianna's health!"

"Ai Luoli strikes again! Heavenly Sound Wave hits!!"

"Echo Strike followed up, and although Orianna perfectly timed her big move to successfully interrupt Mang Seng's second Q, it was useless! Ai Luoli flashed, slapped on a slow, circled behind Crown, and knocked him back with a Dragon Tail Sweep!"

"Scout walked up, fired a shot followed by Piercing Holy Light, and easily took this kill!"

"Crown died again! At 9 minutes, Orianna is 0‑3 and completely done!!!"

An Bixin arrived at the last moment; after landing a Seeker's Arrow, he immediately unleashed his ultimate, pounced on, and killed the low‑health Ai Luoli that the turret had whittled down, finally avenging Crown.

But just like Guan Zeyuan's catchphrase—however, it was useless! Scout cleared the minion wave, went home, and directly pulled out a Blade of the Ruined King!

"What?! Blade of the Ruined King is here!!!"

"Wow, Orianna with Blade of the Ruined King and Attack Speed Boots at ten minutes!"

"The game is over; I just say the game is already over!"

Even more delightful, possibly infected by the mid lane's success, the bottom lane soon brought good news as well.

"Meiko's Alistar flashed twice, launching Ruler into the air, applying Ignite, then activating Unyielding Will to start tanking the tower!"

"Zet jumped in!"

"CoreJJ quickly gulped Ruler down, flashed, and pulled back!"

"Zet fired a precise barrage at Thresh's position!"

"Ruler landed, got hit by the ultimate, and died!!!"

"EDG! Flowers everywhere!!!"

The advantage is so huge that the upcoming game—no matter how it's played, even if switched to wild card—will be a sure win.

At 28 minutes into the match, EDG had a 10,000 gold lead plus two earth dragons, with all five members gathering in Zhong Lu, preparing to use the Elder Dragon to force SSG into taking the final team fight.

"Both sides are facing off in Zhong Lu; the final team fight that could end the match may erupt at any moment, yet they show no panic—how could EDG lose with a 10,000 gold advantage and two earth dragons?"

In the backstage lounge, when Liang Yan heard Guan Zeyuan say that, he really felt a bit nervous.

Mid laner Lu Xi An + 10,000 gold + two earth dragons + Zhonya's Hourglass + Zhong Lu……

Buffs stacked to the max!

But the facts showed Liang Yan was overthinking; this wasn't the S7 World Championship, and the opposing lineup was missing another piece that could have created a miracle—Luo.

At 29 and a half minutes, a team fight broke out in the upper river; EDG traded one for five, didn't take the Elder Dragon, then pushed straight down from the top lane, hoping to wipe out SSG's Ji Di in one push.

But at the critical moment, SSG displayed extraordinary tenacity and managed to hold this wave.

"SSG is still holding on! Their never‑give‑up spirit is moving, but both lane high grounds have been broken! Even a turret fell! For them, the hope of winning this match is like a candle in the wind—it could go out any moment!"

Unable to push past SSG, EDG went back to regroup; after leaving and clearing the minion wave, they regrouped again in the upper river, aiming to force SSG to come fight.

Once EDG secures that Elder Dragon, the super minions buffed by the Elder Dragon in both lanes will surge onto SSG's high ground—then the game is effectively over; EDG won't even need to initiate a team fight, just standing there to buff the minion wave will let them watch the super minions flood SSG's Ji Di.

So, SSG had no choice but to engage.

With an economic gap nearing 15,000, the result of SSG taking the fight was beyond doubt.

Thirty-four minutes, EDG successfully destroyed SSG's Ji Di.

「G! G!!! 」

「Congratulations EDG! Defeated the strong SSG! Added the final point for LPL! 」

「Three-zero!! LPL won the final of this Intercontinental Tournament!! 」

「We are! Champions!!! 」
