Chapter 169: A Textbook-Perfect Crime!

At the same time!

Inside the Command Room of the Expert Group!

When Chu Chen left the Swiss National Bank by helicopter, Liu Xuemin dialed Zhou Yun's phone immediately!

"Hello, Team Captain," Liu Xuemin said after the call connected.

At this moment, Zhou Yun and the other two were on their way to Wallenstadt.

Hearing Liu Lao's voice on the other end of the line, Zhou Yun hurriedly replied: "It's me, Liu Lao."

"Chu Chen has already begun his move," Liu Xuemin's tone was somewhat urgent.

"When did this happen?" Zhou Yun confirmed upon hearing this.

"Just now," Liu Xuemin said immediately.

"Just now? Then where is he right now?" Zhou Yun continued to ask.

"He is on a helicopter provided by the authorities, and Lin Xu is tracking his position in real-time. Just as we guessed before, he should be on his way to Wallenstadt right now!"

Hearing this from Liu Xuemin, Zhou Yun's expression looked slightly complex; he had not expected Chu Chen's actions to be this fast!

The next second, he asked again: "Was all that gold taken away by him?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Xuemin immediately shook his head in denial: "No, he handed all the gold over to the United Foundation."

"The United Foundation? Did the authorities agree to that?" Zhou Yun asked in surprise.

"Hmm... they didn't make things difficult for Chu Chen; this guy walked out of the bank in broad daylight..."

After receiving the affirmative answer, Zhou Yun gasped on the spot!

The authorities doing this was clearly a case of losing wealth to avoid disaster!

If nothing went wrong, it must have been that video that played a role!

Otherwise, it would be impossible for them to compromise with a robber!

What kind of leverage could these people possibly have in his hands to be manipulated like this?

Thinking of this, Zhou Yun asked directly: "What about that video?"

Hearing him ask about that video, Liu Xuemin shook his head and said: "It hasn't been made public..."

"So, he used that video to make a deal with the authorities?"

"Hmm..."

"My god, just how explosive must that inside information be for them to give up thousands of tons of gold?" Zhou Yun couldn't help but exclaim.

Liu Xuemin said: "I'm not sure, but everyone is speculating that this matter might be related to the Americans and those few financial groups, saying they were making war profits behind the scenes, and that the gold was obtained secretly under the guise of opposing the rebels. However, these remarks are mostly rumors and haven't been confirmed..."

At this very moment, Zhou Yun finally understood why so many people called Chu Chen a genius.

Because such a seamless criminal plan could never be thought of by an ordinary person!

At the very beginning of his operation, he found the authorities' weak spot, then struck their vital point with precision, and ultimately made a perfect escape!

No wonder he dared to provoke the authorities unscrupulously before the operation began!

With this life-saving talisman in his hand, success or failure had already been determined from the very start!

A textbook-perfect crime!

It is truly astonishing!

"Where are you all now?"

Liu Xuemin's question interrupted Zhou Yun's train of thought.

Pulling his thoughts back, he spoke immediately: "We are still on the road; if nothing goes wrong, we should be a step behind him..."

"What about the other three team captains?" Liu Xuemin asked again.

"They should still be on their way to Zurich right now," Zhou Yun continued to answer.

"Going to Zurich now is meaningless; Wallenstadt is the focus we need to pay attention to. I will explain the situation to the Swiss authorities in a moment and have them send a helicopter to the nearest airport, then pick up Sun Bo and the others immediately to go to Wallenstadt with you. We are already a step behind, and every second from here on out is extremely precious..."

"Hmm..."

The call ended just like that amidst the two men's worries.

Putting down the phone, Zhou Yun let out a breath in a distracted manner, the expression on his face very complex!

Seeing him like this, Chen Xiong, who was beside him, asked: "What's wrong, Team Captain?"

"Liu Lao said that Chu Chen has already begun his move..." After coming back to his senses, Zhou Yun answered immediately.

"What?" Upon hearing this, Chen Xiong raised his eyebrows in confusion: "Already begun his move?"

"Yes, he is currently escaping to Wallenstadt on a helicopter provided by the authorities, exactly as the Expert Group predicted."

"What about the gold?" Chen Xiong asked again.

Zhou Yun: "He didn't take the gold."

Chen Xiong: "Hmm?"

Zhou Yun: "He donated all that gold to the United Foundation..."

Chen Xiong: "Thousands of tons of gold, all donated?"

Zhou Yun nodded: "That's right, all donated, he didn't even take a single piece."

"And the authorities actually agreed?"

"Hmm... I suppose it must have been that video that played a role, which is why the authorities were forced to agree to this deal."

"So that means there must be some unspeakable secret hidden in that video..." At this very moment, Chen Xiong's expression was exactly the same as Zhou Yun's when he first heard the news!

"That's right, otherwise the authorities wouldn't have agreed to this deal with him. You might not believe it, but Chu Chen just walked out of the bank in broad daylight right in front of the authorities..."

"Walked out of the bank in broad daylight?"

After Zhou Yun finished this sentence, not only Chen Xiong, but Zhuang Yan's expression also had a subtle change.

Before participating in the program, both of them were workers from the front lines of criminal investigation.

The number of robbery cases they have handled is countless.

But a criminal who could leave the crime scene as brazenly as Chu Chen was something they were seeing for the first time...

Especially Zhuang Yan; she truly could not believe that the authorities could allow a criminal to be arrogant to such a degree.

At this moment, the beliefs she had held fast to for many years nearly fell apart.

Those constricted pupils were the best proof of that!

The next second, she murmured, "Regarding that video, has the Expert Group found anything?"

Hearing this, Zhou Yun shook his head:

"Certainly not. FIS is on par with our National Security; this kind of case is not something the Expert Group can get involved in. They don't have that ability, nor can they obtain the investigative authority; it is fundamentally impossible for them to obtain any valuable clues. However, just now on the phone, Liu Lao did mention a word or two. According to the information they obtained, many people on the internet now believe this matter might be related to those few major financial groups of the old US. Of course, most of these guesses are rumors, and there is no conclusive evidence..."

"Hoo!"

Amidst his shock, Chen Xiong let out a long breath to calm the constantly surging emotions in his heart.

The next second, he continued to ask, "Then what do we do now?"

"We are already a step behind... we can only play it by ear..."
