Chapter 234: Watching others' live streams costs money, watching yours costs your life!

The challenge has reached this point and has officially entered a white-hot stage!

In addition to the skyrocketing Shock Value, the popularity of the live stream has successfully broken through the 5.5 billion mark and is currently pushing toward 6 billion!

To watch this live stream, nearly half the countries in the world and hundreds of cities have seen the spectacle of streets being deserted!

Looking across all of history, no other television program has had the influence to attract the attention of so many people!

Even the football World Cup, touted as the world's number one sport, pales in comparison to this live stream!

Because this sport that Chu Chen is demonstrating is simply too far ahead of its time!

Given the current state of extreme sports development in this world, Free Climbing is definitely an existence that exceeds their cognition!

If not for this challenge of his, the public in this world certainly would not believe that anyone could climb the Angel Waterfall with their bare hands without any protective measures!

As the only Anti-Gravity Challenge among the Extreme Eight Items, its danger is truly incomparable to other challenges!

Even through the screen, one can intuitively feel the oppressive sensation projected by that rock face!

It is truly hard to imagine what kind of powerful heart a person must possess to face all of this so calmly!

Throughout the entire climbing process, Chu Chen's expression has not changed at all; he is as composed as if he were taking a casual stroll, not even taking the ten-thousand-foot abyss beneath his feet into account!

But as onlookers, it is very difficult to ignore all of this.

Because this challenge is simply too thrilling.

Especially that centimeter-level support from earlier; it was an operation that simply violated the laws of physics!

During this time, almost every minute, viewers with weak psychological fortitude have fainted from oxygen deprivation due to being too excited and have been sent to hospital emergency rooms!

As of now, the cumulative number of patients received by many hospitals worldwide has far exceeded 100 million, and it is still constantly climbing!

In Yanjing alone, tens of thousands of people have called emergency services due to oxygen deprivation from the excitement of watching the live stream!

It is currently still night here in the country.

But the emergency rooms of many hospitals are still in a state of being packed to capacity.

According to incomplete statistics, at least ninety percent of these patients fainted as a result of watching Chu Chen's Free Climbing!

It simply couldn't be more exaggerated!

Due to the sudden nature of the incident, many news media outlets have reported on this matter!

Right now, on the trending lists of Weibo and TikTok, one can see discussions about this topic almost everywhere!

Click on any one of them, and the comments below are dense, with several popping up every second!

【Too awesome, holy crap!】

【Watching others' live streams costs money, watching yours costs your life!】

【A single live stream sending viewers to the ICU, there's really no one else like him!】

【Are hospitals set to become the biggest winners?】

【The Program Team must be panicking like crazy right now!】

【I'm lying in a hospital bed right now, it really is too stimulating! This guy is truly a lunatic!】

【Haha, I'm dying of laughter!】

【Those with poor psychological endurance, absolutely do not watch Chu Chen's live stream, remember this! Otherwise, you'll definitely be ICU-bound!】

At the same time!

Yanjing!

China Central Television!

Inside the control room for "Simulated Crime"!

As the challenge deepened, in order to ensure the smooth progress of the live stream, all the directors and staff were focused intently on the large screen in front of them!

Even the program's general director, Zhang Yiwen, was no exception.

The next second.

Just as everyone was holding their breath, a middle-aged man wearing glasses suddenly walked into the control room, panting, and arrived in front of Zhang Yiwen:

"Director Zhang..."

Hearing the middle-aged man's call, Zhang Yiwen shifted his gaze away from the large screen and landed on him.

Seeing that the middle-aged man's expression was somewhat off, Zhang Yiwen frowned and asked, "What is it? What happened?"

At this moment, the middle-aged man had not yet caught his breath, but due to the urgency of the matter, he spoke immediately:

"... Many viewers have fainted because they watched this live stream... they have been sent to the hospital... Right now, this matter is continuing to ferment on the internet, and even the evening news on CCTV has made corresponding reports. The impact is very bad. Just now, many family members of the viewers sent to the hospital have called us, and their attitude is very firm..."

"What?"

As the general director of the program, this was also the first time Zhang Yiwen had encountered such a situation!

When he heard this, he jumped up from his chair in one motion, staring fixedly at the middle-aged man with an expression of disbelief.

The middle-aged man ignored his gaze and continued to speak:

"It's not just us; several live streaming platforms abroad have also had similar things happen. Now, over 100 million people worldwide have been sent to the hospital because they watched his live stream..."

As the middle-aged man was speaking, Zhang Yiwen swallowed his saliva repeatedly, his eyes widened like ping-pong balls!

He never dreamed that things would actually develop to this point!

"Director Zhang, what do we do now?" the middle-aged man asked again.

Hearing him speak, Zhang Yiwen finally snapped out of his shock and thought for a moment before saying:

"Don't panic yet. Our program has a disclaimer. Let the legal department come forward to resolve it. Now, hurry and notify Department Head Zhang, and report this matter to him in detail!"

"Okay, I'll go right away!"

After the middle-aged man left, Zhang Yiwen gave some instructions to the broadcast directors, then also went out the door and headed straight to Chen Zhiguo's office!

Upon arriving, he got straight to the point and reported this sudden situation to Chen Zhiguo in great detail!

During this time, Chen Zhiguo had been constantly following Chu Chen's live stream!

He had not paid any attention to the information on the internet at all.

Naturally, he did not know about this matter.

When he learned this news, he, the person in charge, was also shocked and dumbfounded, taking quite a while to collect his thoughts before asking: "Has the legal department been notified?"

Watching Chen Zhiguo's incredibly shocked expression, Zhang Yiwen spoke slowly:

"They have already been notified."

Hearing this, Chen Zhiguo did not speak, seemingly pondering something.

Seeing this, Zhang Yiwen hurriedly comforted him:

"Our program has a disclaimer, so you don't need to worry too much; the legal department should be able to resolve it properly. Right now, the only problem is that the impact of public opinion is simply too great. I just took a rough look, and the trending searches on Weibo and TikTok are almost all discussions about this topic. If this problem isn't resolved, it will be very disadvantageous for us..."

Hearing this, Chen Zhiguo let out a long, helpless sigh.

How could he not know the severity of this problem!

Thinking of this, he steadied himself and then said directly to Zhang Yiwen: "Hurry and notify the heads of all departments to come to the conference room for a meeting immediately!"
