Chapter 49: The Pursuit Team Strikes Again!

As time passed, the last glimmer of sunset hanging over the mountain peak finally fell!

Stars of all sizes appeared one after another.

They added a touch of liveliness to the monotonous night sky.

Due to the high altitude, the stars filling the sky seemed within reach, as if they were right above one's head, which looked incredibly stunning!

At this moment, as Chu Chen once again set out on his journey, advancing toward 7010, the Expert Group and the Pursuit Team were not idle either; they urgently convened a video conference, preparing to discuss how exactly to carry out the upcoming capture operation.

Currently, Chu Chen had already broken through 6,000 meters; this altitude was difficult even for military helicopters to overcome, so relying on human power to climb the mountain and carry out a capture operation was basically impossible, and they had to find another way.

In the video feed, Liu Xuemin said, "Captain Chen, Team Captain, you are on the scene and understand the situation better; do you have any ideas?"

Zhou Yun let out a long breath and said, "Liu Lao, we have tried every method that should be tried, and the helicopters have flown several times, but it was all useless; we simply cannot get close to him. We are now preparing to try using drones."

Liu Xuemin: "Drones?"

Zhou Yun: "Yes, currently only military drones can barely fly to his altitude."

Zhu Guowei: "And then?"

Zhou Yun: "Launch smoke grenades at him to seal off his path forward, and then use psychological tactics to call out and persuade him to turn back."

Wang Ruomei asked: "Smoke grenades? Is this feasible at this altitude?"

Zhou Yun shook his head and said, "I don't know, but I asked the brothers in the military, and they said it should be no problem. We just tested it ourselves; at high altitudes, although the white phosphorus in the ammunition cannot burn completely, it can still emit smoke, though the duration is relatively short. When the time comes, I will use several more drones to launch them at his forward area simultaneously to completely seal off his path!"

After Zhou Yun finished speaking, the five experts looked at each other and did not immediately express their own views.

Seeing this, Zhou Yun continued: "Everyone, this should be the last feasible plan we can come up with. If we still cannot succeed this time, I will only be able to wait until he comes down the mountain to carry out the capture..."

Liu Xuemin looked at the few people beside him, and after a brief moment of thought, he took the lead in stating his position:

"Let's do this... you try it first. But you must pay attention to safety; if you cannot succeed, do not force it. All actions must be based on the premise of ensuring the Life safety of personnel on both sides!"

Zhou Yun nodded and said with a serious expression: "I understand... you can rest assured about this point; I will pay attention to the scale."

"In addition, will these smoke grenades cause any impact on the environment of Mount Everest?"

"That won't happen. I asked; all the smoke grenades use biodegradable materials and will not affect the environment."

"That's good, we will wait for your good news."

"Yes, let's leave it at that for now, everyone; we will contact each other later!"

After the meeting ended.

Zhou Yun immediately began to deploy the operation!

He mobilized hundreds of military drones and loaded them with smoke grenades!

At this moment, inside the live broadcast room, seeing this scene, the barrage comments increased again:

【Good heavens, so many drones!!!】

【Drone smoke grenades, you really have no sense of martial virtue!!!】

【Damn, playing a sneak attack...】

【This move is sinister enough, Brother Chen must be careful!!!】

【Muscle Team Captain, you really are a talent!!!】

【Go Brother Chen!】

"Set off!"

The next second.

Just as all the viewers were continuously posting barrage comments, accompanied by Zhou Yun's order, hundreds of drones left the ground simultaneously and flew in a massive swarm toward the direction where Chu Chen was!

At the same time!

Above the mountain wall.

In order to reach 7010 as soon as possible, Chu Chen had now placed all his attention under his feet, being extremely focused!

Looking into the distance through the lens.

The huge snowy mountain slope was particularly open.

It lay diagonally in front of a mountain wall as cold and sharp as a knife's edge!

Being in the midst of it, Chu Chen's sense of presence was minimal.

【Run, God Chu!】

【The Pursuit Team has come to catch you again!】

【Muscle Team Captain! You really are like a lingering ghost!】

【Go Brother Chen!】

【Hubby, I will support you forever!】

【That's right, me too!】

The next second.

Just as he was about to reach 7010, bursts of roaring sounds suddenly came from not far behind him, as if something was rapidly approaching his position!

Hearing the sound.

Chu Chen immediately looked back.

In his line of sight, a dense swarm of drones was getting closer and closer, like a huge black cloud, giving one a great sense of oppression!

Taking a closer look, Chu Chen immediately understood what was going on.

Unsurprisingly, it must be the Pursuit Team playing tricks.

These people really would stop at nothing to catch him.

Before it was helicopters, and now it was drones.

Thinking this, Chu Chen smiled and ignored them entirely, continuing his advance toward 7010!

But just at this moment.

A massive swarm of drones also flew into the sky above his head!

They hovered in one place in perfect unison!

Seeing this, Zhou Yun at the foot of the mountain once again issued an order to all drone operators: "Attention everyone, please immediately aim at the position 100 meters in front of him."

Hearing the command, all the operators immediately followed suit!

"Launch!"

The next second, following Zhou Yun's order, the drone swarm instantly performed the same action, continuously launching smoke grenades directly in front of Chu Chen!

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

In an instant, the launched smoke grenades came raining down toward Chu Chen's direction, all of them landing with a clatter into the trench!

And just at this moment, smoke also began to spread across the mountainside at the same time!

At first, it was only a faint layer.

But it quickly evolved into a thick fog, completely swallowing Chu Chen's figure!

In the midst of the chaos, even the Smart Sky Eye could not capture Chu Chen's presence!

【Damn...】

【Is this something a human can do?】

【The guy just wants to climb Mount Everest, why do you have to do this?】

【Yeah!】

【Holy crap, where is God Chu? He won't die, will he?】

【It's impossible for him to die, God Chu has at least 999 Resurrection Coins on him! Don't worry!】

【Indeed, if he had even one less, he wouldn't dare to be this reckless!】

【What time is it, and you guys are still making jokes like this!】

【Damn the Pursuit Team!】

【Everyone, watch the livestream rationally. Chu Chen is a criminal now. No matter what heaven-defying actions he takes, this is an unchangeable fact. It is the duty of the Pursuit Team to capture him. They can't just watch a criminal escape and do nothing, right?】

【Yeah! Everyone stop arguing!】
