Chapter 54: Highly Anticipated by All!

At this moment, Yanjing, China Central Television!

Inside the brightly lit Studio Hall No. 4, it was very lively.

Although it was only 6:00 AM, all the staff of Morning News had already entered their work state, making final preparations for the program about to air!

Right now, the two hosts were already sitting in front of the cameras, looking over the news scripts that had just been organized!

"There are quite a few scripts for today too..."

"Yeah..."

Beside them, the makeup and wardrobe staff were helping them tidy up their appearance.

At the same time, the lighting and camera crews were all in position.

But just then, the program director Sun Hao suddenly walked over in a rush and said to all the staff:

"Listen up everyone... let's all pause for a moment. I just received news that today's Morning News is being pushed back by one hour. We need to vacate this studio in a bit; another program will be taking over. You two hosts can stop reading for now and go get some breakfast!"

What was going on?

Pushed back by one hour?

Having worked at China Central Television for so many years, this was the first time they had encountered such a situation.

Upon hearing this, the female host asked in confusion: "Director Sun, what's going on?"

"It's an order from above. The director for Simulated Crime will be coming over shortly to take over our work, so we need to hand over the live broadcast permissions."

Hearing Sun Hao say this, the two hosts immediately understood the reason behind the matter.

Unsurprisingly, it must have to do with that young man who was currently summiting Mount Everest!

Last night, the two of them had also been following this event, but because they had to host the program today, they only watched for a little while before stopping.

When they arrived at work earlier, they had even chatted about this topic.

At the time, they knew that this event would one hundred percent be on today's Morning News!

But looking at it now, they had underestimated the situation!

This guy wasn't just making the news!

To watch him reach the summit, the entire Morning News had to be pushed back by an hour because of him...

It was clear that the higher-ups were truly taking his challenge very seriously!

Otherwise, they wouldn't have pushed back the Morning News...

After receiving the news, the staff of Morning News left the studio one after another.

The staff from Simulated Crime moved in one after another.

And just after they took over the studio, the live broadcast feed of Simulated Crime was simultaneously transmitted to the Huaxia Television Channel One line!

The next second!

The footage of Chu Chen moving toward the mountain peak entered thousands of households in the blink of an eye, appearing before every person in Huaxia!

In Li Xiaoming's home!

When he saw Chu Chen appear on his television screen, he immediately put down the steamed bun in his hand and jumped up from his chair: "Mom, look quickly, that's my idol! He's climbing Mount Everest right now!"

"Mount Everest? How could there be anyone up there? Is it computer-generated?" Li Xiaoming's mother asked in surprise while drinking her porridge.

"What do you mean generated! This is real! This guy's name is Chu Chen! He's been super popular lately! Haven't you seen the news about him?" Li Xiaoming excitedly retorted.

"I've been worked to death these past few days, where would I have time to watch the news? Chu Chen, Chu Eight? Eat quickly, or you'll be late!"

Li Xiaoming's mother had initially thought these were all generated.

She hadn't paid much attention at all.

But as the live broadcast deepened, she gradually realized the gravity of the issue and her eyes widened in an instant!

At the same time!

Yanjing, Southeast Sea, inside a magnificent conference room!

At this moment, on the large screen in the conference room, Chu Chen's live broadcast was also being played simultaneously!

Outside the conference room.

A team of fully armed guards was moving in a hurry!

Behind them, a white-haired old man in military uniform and a group of old men dressed in black were walking side by side!

"What is the situation over there now?" asked the old man walking in the center position.

"He is almost at the summit..." said the white-haired old man.

"Oh?"

Upon hearing this, the old man in the center position was stunned: "So fast?"

"Yes, he climbed it almost in one breath, without resting the entire way."

"Without resting the entire way?!"

Hearing this sentence from the white-haired old man, the old man stopped in his tracks and looked at him in great astonishment!

An 8,000-meter-plus snow mountain!

A true forbidden zone for humanity!

What kind of concept was it to climb it in one breath?

How formidable must a body be to accomplish such a feat!

It was too incredible!

The old man stood frozen in place for a long, long time, and only after a long while did he come back to his senses, sighing incessantly:

"... What a rare talent indeed! To climb the 8,000-meter peak of the world in one breath—in the past, I wouldn't have even dared to imagine such a thing!"

Seeing the old man in this state, the white-haired elder nodded with a smile and chimed in, "Indeed, but he truly did it."

"I must say, our Huaxia is truly full of hidden talents. If it weren't for this program, we would never have noticed such a person. This program is well-run. By the way, has his background been checked clearly?"

"His background is quite clean. He is an orphan who grew up in a welfare institution, but other details are still being dug up..." the white-haired elder replied again.

"Mm, report to me promptly if there are any discoveries."

The elder in the center seat nodded with great gratification, and then said:

"In that case, have Huaxia Television and Huaxia News Network prepare. If the summit is successful, we must promote it extensively and let all of Huaxia and the whole world remember this historic moment! Because Mount Everest is not just our Huaxia's, it is also all of humanity's! Today, he is not only a hero of our Huaxia, but also a hero for all of humanity!"

"Rest assured, I have already notified them."

After speaking, a team finally walked into the conference room, arrived before the large screen, and looked up, watching every move Chu Chen made!

At this moment, his body had long been eroded by the Wind and snow to the point where its original color was barely visible.

But his gaze remained as firm as ever!

Because right now, he was only a stone's throw away from the summit he had dreamed of!

Seeing this, all the viewers and onlookers following this live broadcast could not help but lock their gazes onto Chu Chen!

Some of them were clenching their fists!

As if they wanted to transmit their own Force to Chu Chen on the other side of the screen!

Some were closing their eyes tightly, praying that Chu Chen could reach the summit safely!

Others were nervously holding their breath, fearing that any sound they made would disturb his focus!

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

At this moment, the hearts of people all over the world were throbbing in unison, staring fixedly at that man on the screen!

Right now, his every step carried the expectations and prayers of countless people!

The next second!

Just when everyone was extremely nervous, the once unreachable peak of the world finally became history!
