Chapter 93: Entering the Middle Section of the Congo River! The Expert Group's Plan!

At the same time!

On the helicopter!

The scene before their eyes also gave the six Pursuit Captains quite a shock!

Especially the four captains who had just joined this pursuit mission.

Previously, they had only understood Chu Chen's methods through his case files and had never witnessed them firsthand!

Now, they finally knew just how insane this criminal, who had once gone parachuting above the Roof of the World, truly was!

In all their years in the profession, this was truly the first time they had seen such a criminal!

Even Zhuang Yan, who was well-versed in various Chinese and foreign mystery novels, was no exception!

At this moment, having experienced various difficult cases since childhood, she deeply realized his extraordinary nature upon her first encounter with Chu Chen!

He is truly a criminal genius capable of planning the Extreme Eight Items...

His actions are indeed shocking!

Watching the pursuit team members in disarray on the river, Zhou Yun let out a long breath.

He did not appear as surprised as the other four captains; after slightly calming his mood, he immediately picked up the walkie-talkie and called:

"Zhang Hao, Zhang Hao, please respond if you can hear me."

After waiting for a while, Zhang Hao's panting voice came from the other end of the walkie-talkie: "Team Captain... I'm here! You guys hurry up and carry him up! Hurry!"

"How is it? Are there any casualties?" Zhou Yun asked.

"A few brothers sustained some minor injuries, but it shouldn't be anything serious..." Zhang Hao replied.

Hearing this, Zhou Yun thought for a moment and commanded: "In that case, once you finish counting the headcount, withdraw immediately."

"Understood, Team Captain."

Currently, several countries ahead of Kisangani are in the midst of chaotic warfare.

Out of safety concerns, Zhou Yun did not choose to continue the pursuit.

"What do we do now?"

After turning off the walkie-talkie, Sun Bo, who was sitting next to Chen Xiong, asked.

Zhou Yun glanced at him, shook his head, and replied: "We can only plan for the long term. Let's head back first."

After saying this, he immediately gave the order to return to the helicopter pilot.

They embarked on the journey back to Kinshasa.

And at this very moment, Chu Chen had already completely left the Kisangani river section and vanished entirely from everyone's sight!

……

……

……

At this moment.

Inside the Command Room.

The five experts had also seen every scene that just occurred clearly through satellite monitoring!

Until the moment Chu Chen disappeared from view, they had not moved their eyes away from the monitor.

Such a scene made the atmosphere in the entire Command Room very subtle; it took quite a while before someone spoke.

"What do we do now?"

It was Zhu Guowei who spoke.

The question he asked was also what everyone else was thinking at this moment.

To this day, even Chen Zijin, who had always firmly believed that Chu Chen could be caught, could not help but waver a little.

Recalling those scenes from just now, he really did not know how to face this opponent.

At first, he thought that as long as he figured out the criminal's motive, it would be equivalent to finding the focus of the investigation.

But what if the focus of the investigation was found?

For a criminal who could ascend to the heavens and descend into the earth, these things had no meaning at all.

Because ordinary capture methods simply could not stop him!

Whether it was the previous Earth Awakening, the subsequent Heavenly Birth, or the current Water Spirit, it was almost all the same.

Thinking of this, a very real sense of frustration suddenly arose in Chen Zijin's heart.

Of course, it was not just him; the other experts were the same.

Before coming to participate in this program, they were all top-tier figures in their respective fields; some even didn't take these contestants seriously at all and had boasted on the live stream that they would catch Chu Chen within a month.

But now, as the competition deepened, such grand words were something they could no longer say under any circumstances.

After a long while, Liu Xuemin let out a long breath, and while adjusting his mood, he comforted everyone: "Don't be discouraged, everyone; we still have a chance..."

After speaking, he walked to the large screen, pointed at the Congo River basin map on it, and continued:

"If our previous deductions are correct, as long as he hasn't left this river, the initiative is still in our hands. Compared to his previous two crimes, this time, our work has already made great progress; this at least proves that our previous direction of investigation was correct..."

Liu Xuemin's words finally eased the atmosphere in the Command Room.

Then, he picked up the laser pointer on the table, pointed at the Congo River on the large screen, and continued:

"His current position is roughly in the middle section of the river. According to the current progress, even if he travels day and night without stopping, it will take at least two days to complete the entire journey. If his challenge is truly to complete the entire length of this river, then the estuary at Kinshasa is the top priority we need to focus on next..."

"Currently, Team Captain and the others have set up an interception net here and stationed nearly half of the manpower, but I think that is far from enough."

"In addition to these basic interception measures, we must at least expand the capture range to a radius of fifty kilometers and implement 24-hour strict monitoring of this area! But wanting to accomplish this is not realistic by relying solely on these pursuit team members; we may need to find a way to seek assistance from the local Congo military. In a moment, I will go communicate with the Program Team and have them contact Chu Chen's Logistics Team to help us coordinate."

Hearing this, Wang Ruomei asked: "But what if he changes his route midway and doesn't finish the whole journey?"

Just as she finished speaking, Zhu Guowei spoke up to refute her:

"That shouldn't happen, because if he doesn't finish the whole journey, it counts as a failed challenge. Do you think a criminal like him would do such a thing? In my opinion, he would rather take risks than allow any blemish to appear in his criminal plan. Unless, this was never part of his plan at all."

At present, the five experts all preconceived that Chu Chen's challenge this time should be the Water Spirit among the Eight Challenges, and inferred from this that he would definitely complete the entire length of the Congo River.

Regarding this point, everyone was deeply convinced.

As for the reason, just as Zhu Guowei said, such a criminal would never allow any blemish to appear in his crimes!

At the same time!

Africa!

The middle reaches of the Congo River!

After breaking through the interception of the Pursuit Team, Chu Chen traveled without stopping, soon sailing another few dozen kilometers to arrive at the middle reaches of the Congo River.

At this moment, as various major tributaries converged one after another.

The flow speed of the river not only did not slow down, but instead became faster and faster.

The changes in terrain and topography were also intricate and complex.

All kinds of rapids, dangerous shoals, and white-water Waterfall were visible everywhere, directly causing the difficulty of the challenge to rise by more than one level!

Being amidst the rapids, Chu Chen could clearly feel that the water conditions were becoming increasingly severe.

Many times, a small Waterfall with the same drop had felt like nothing before, but now it had become much more perilous!
