Chapter 3: They are the Wolf Guards!!!

One day later, Cangxi City Law Enforcement Guard.

Zhao Guoyan hurried back from the Dahuang Mountain Range.

Liu Chengchao accompanied him at his side.

At this moment, Zhao Guoyan's complexion was extremely poor.

Yesterday, after discovering that there were also remains beneath the mountain wall, he hurriedly mobilized excavation machinery and excavation personnel to carry out digging.

The more they dug, the colder Zhao Guoyan's heart became.

The number of remains discovered was increasing, already nearing the triple digits.

He did not sleep at all last night, having stayed in the Dahuang Mountain Range for the entire night.

At this moment, his eyes were bloodshot, yet he felt no sleepiness whatsoever.

It could already be confirmed that the remains in the Dahuang Mountain Range were definitely in the triple digits, and it was even possible that...

"If it exceeds a hundred people, this is absolutely the most vicious case since the founding of the country." Zhao Guoyan rubbed his hair, though his buzz cut left him with little hair to rub.

"Guoyan, perhaps these remains are really from several decades, or even a hundred years ago?" Liu Chengchao comforted him from the side.

A trace of doubt always lingered in his heart.

"Based on my years of experience in handling cases, those remains could not have existed for decades." Zhao Guoyan frowned.

Zhao Guoyan entered the Law Enforcement Guard station, and his cell phone ringtone suddenly sounded.

"Zhao Guoyan, what is going on!

In your jurisdiction, over a hundred remains have been discovered!

*** Your report is written like complete nonsense!"

"Chief..."

"I am on a flight today; when I arrive in Cangxi City, you had better explain the situation to me clearly!"

Hanging up the phone, sweat dripped from Zhao Guoyan's forehead.

The report on the Dahuang Mountain Range incident had been sent up, directly causing a shock among the higher-ups.

Zhao Guoyan's direct superior, the Chief of the Tianbei Province Law Enforcement Guard, took the lead in forming a special task force, gathering various talents.

By this time, the incident regarding the remains in the Dahuang Mountain Range had already begun to ferment online.

"Boss, the test results for the remains are out." At this moment, a young woman ran over, holding a thick stack of reports in her hand.

She gave a copy of the report to both Zhao Guoyan and Liu Chengchao, and said quickly.

"The owner of the remains is male, with an estimated age of 32 to 35.

The test results are very strange; this person is not one of our Daxia Clan people."

"What, could it be... an immigrant?" Zhao Guoyan let out a sigh of relief, though his furrowed brows tightened further.

The reason for his relief was that the dead were not his own compatriots.

The reason for his frown was that if they were immigrants, this would involve diplomatic disputes, and the matter would become even more complicated.

"Not an immigrant." The young woman hesitated for a moment, "They are the remains of the Wolf Tribe, which has already been wiped out."

"What?" Zhao Guoyan was stunned.

He could not help but think of that stone tablet, on which was carved: Great Demon Heize.

Could it be that the two were truly related?

"The time these bones have existed is nearly a millennium.

Boss, did you discover an ancient tomb? These bones are quite well-preserved." The young woman was from the testing department; she had been working on tests all night and was not yet clear about what had happened in the Dahuang Mountain Range.

"What!" The insulated Water cup in Zhao Guoyan's hand fell with a crash.

A millennium, how is that possible!

He opened the report and hurriedly checked it, his hands trembling the whole time.

After a long while, Zhao Guoyan finally calmed down.

He let out a sigh of relief: "Fortunately, a criminal case has turned into an archaeological event."

He looked at Liu Chengchao beside him: "Old Liu, how could the bones in the Dahuang Mountain Range be preserved for a thousand years?"

"Perhaps... maybe... because the environment is dry?" Liu Chengchao said uncertainly.

However, even if left in the open, no matter how dry it is, they would not be preserved for a thousand years!

"Perhaps? Maybe?"

In the conference room, many experts and talents were gathered.

Originally, they had treated the matter of the Dahuang Mountain Range as a criminal case, but now it seemed the nature of the event had changed.

The Tianbei Province Chief wore a smile on his face: "Originally, this meeting should have been presided over by me, but now it should be presided over by Old Liu, Liu Chengchao."

It was not a vicious incident; he felt greatly relieved.

Firstly, no innocent Daxia Country citizens had died, and secondly, he did not have to worry about his official position being stripped away.

He patted the shoulder of Guard Captain Zhao Guoyan, his gaze sweeping over the other Law Enforcement Guard personnel, with a bright smile on his face: "We will just observe."

This time, in order to investigate the case of the Dahuang Mountain Range, talents from various fields had been drafted.

As a result, there were twists in the matter, the investigation team's personnel were adjusted, and many historians, archaeologists, Wolf Tribe researchers, biologists, chemists, and so on were drafted.

At this moment, these people were gathered together, their expressions serious.

"According to the notification we received, 272 human remains have been discovered so far."

"Are there other remains?"

"There are the remains of Giant Wolves, 122 of them."

"What? Giant Wolves?!!! 122 of them?"

Several Wolf Tribe researchers were incredibly shocked, as were the biologists.

"To think there are Giant Wolf corpses, and a hundred of them at that!"

Some personnel looked bewildered, clearly having never heard of Giant Wolves.

A Wolf Tribe researcher explained: "The might of the Wolf Tribe is closely related to the Giant Wolf. For the Wolf Tribe, the Giant Wolf was the most precious mount; possessing Giant Wolves, the Wolf Tribe's strength was very formidable in the world at that time, repeatedly invading the borders of the Dafeng Dynasty.

However, after the Dafeng period, the Wolf Tribe became decadent.

It is said that the Wolf Tribe's Giant Wolves contracted a rare disease called Blood Eye Disease; it was highly contagious, but the mortality rate was extremely high, which is very unscientific.

The number of Giant Wolves plummeted, and the Wolf Tribe began to decline.

One hundred years ago, the Wolf Tribe was exterminated, and the last one hundred Giant Wolves within the tribe were also Slayed; the Giant Wolf and the Wolf Tribe were wiped out."

Everyone felt a sense of sorrow upon hearing this.

They were now actually seeing a race that had already gone extinct.

One thousand years ago, what exactly happened?

What exactly happened to cause so many of the Wolf Tribe to fall in the Dahuang Mountain Range?

"If I am not mistaken, these Wolf Tribe members should be the legendary Wolf Guard."

"Wolf Guard?"

"During the peak of the Wolf Tribe, their strength was extremely formidable.

The Wolf Guard were cavalry, with Giant Wolves as mounts, and the elite battle-hardened soldiers were the knights.

There was a saying: 'If the Wolf Guard number less than ten thousand, they are invincible; if they reach ten thousand, they are unstoppable.'

The Wolf Tribe relied on the Wolf Guard to invade the Dafeng Dynasty, even nearly seizing the Nine Cauldrons and entering Daxia.

Historical records state that the Wolf Tribe once relied on three thousand Wolf Guard to annihilate ten countries in Bei Yu.

At that time, there was a Bei Yu country named Rufa Kingdom; when the Wolf Tribe dispatched three thousand Wolf Guard, before they even reached Rufa Kingdom, the king surrendered by offering thirty concubines and a Princess.

It is said that at their peak, the number of Wolf Guard exceeded ten thousand; historical records state there were as many as twelve thousand."

"So powerful? Then how did the Dafeng Dynasty win against the Wolf Tribe?"

"They didn't win!" a historian said excitedly, their voice even trembling, "At that time, the Wolf Tribe reached the Dafeng capital without even deploying the Wolf Guard.

As long as the Wolf Tribe Grand Commander arrived in the Central Plains with the Wolf Guard, Dafeng would surely be defeated!

It is just that the Wolf Tribe Grand Commander and the Wolf Guard vanished; they suddenly disappeared! They vanished into thin air!

Opinions vary, and no one knows how the ten thousand elite Wolf Guard went missing; this is also a mystery, one of the ten great unsolved mysteries for historians!"

"It is precisely because of this that our Daxia Clan was able to avoid a catastrophe," another person added, their voice sighing.

"Now, the corpses of the Wolf Tribe and Giant Wolves from a thousand years ago have appeared here," the history professor said with a trembling voice, "I suspect they are the missing Wolf Guard; we are about to reveal history!

We will know where the Wolf Guard, who once dominated the world, went!"

The Ordinary Law Enforcement Guard felt absolutely nothing listening to this.

The researchers, however, were all very interested in these things.

Especially since the corpses here had not decayed for a thousand years, revealing a magical quality.

"How do you think the Wolf Guard were destroyed?" The history professor's gaze swept over everyone, their expression excited.
