Chapter 334: Launch Announcement

~3 min read 570 words

Launch Announcement

The book will be launched tomorrow at 12:00, and I have some mixed feelings.

First, let me talk about the update schedule: 5 chapters on the launch day, and 3 chapters every day thereafter; if I have the capacity, I will update 4 chapters a day...

Having said that, let me briefly add a few words.

The writing process for this book has truly cost me a great deal of effort.

Before starting the book, in order to stay as close to reality as possible, I consulted a large amount of material from CNKI and libraries, and compiled the relevant information into document links; a rough count shows there are over a thousand entries.

Besides that, I wrote a full 400,000 words for the outline (or rather, the detailed outline) of this book (which is longer than the current main text). So I dare say that, at least until the thousandth chapter, it is impossible for this book to collapse.

Doing all this preparation took me almost two and a half months, and from opening the book until now, it has been almost another two months.

During this time, apart from writing some manuscripts for former business friends to make ends meet, I have basically had no income at all...

Now that the sob story is over, let me talk about my thoughts on other aspects.

Regarding character design, many people think that the way Akiwara Yuto repays Asano Aiko is problematic, suggesting that he should just jump ship to "April Youth" and then pull her along; this sounds very correct, but it doesn't consider Asano Aiko's feelings, nor does it consider the special national conditions of Japan.

Japan is a country that places great emphasis on the culture of "shame" (shame in not paying taxes, shame in receiving welfare). And the relationships between people are very subtle; sometimes, because of a single sentence, the relationship between two people can turn from friends into strangers.

If Akiwara Yuto were to jump ship while still collaborating with Asano Aiko, the only result for the two would be to never see each other again, and the latter would also refuse Akiwara Yuto's help due to the influence of "shame" culture; this does not fit Akiwara Yuto's character design.

Besides this, regarding the controversy over the scope of the career arc (workplace, literary master, and romance arc), I can only say here that I will follow my current outline (after all, I have already written a 400,000-word outline), and it is very difficult to change. After all, I am just a newcomer, and it is already very difficult to write according to the outline.

To be honest, because of these controversies and criticisms, I once wanted to cut the book, but I thought about it. If I cut the book, how could I face the readers who have been following it until now, the editor who gave me many recommendations, and my wife who supports me?

Therefore, I am very grateful to all the readers who have been following along and supporting me until today. I am also very grateful to the editor for the encouragement regarding my work, and finally, I thank my wife for not slapping my novel dream to death...

The only income now is from subscriptions, so please support if you can...

No matter what, I will work hard to continue writing this book!

Thank you all.
