Chapter 30: Army of Demons (Revised)
In the perception of the Old World, the world seems to be forever locked in chaotic battle.
Every race, every kingdom, every individual seems to have their own eternal enemies and endless wars awaiting them.
In every corner with recorded history, every race has the countless crimes of all other races written against them. Various massacres, conspiracies, and betrayals play out in turns in the dark Old World.
The people living in this world are immersed in this eternal struggle. They do not look toward the outside world, because those who have the courage and perseverance to leave the Old World have already taken root in other continents and regions, never willing to return.
And to the people of the Old World, those realms beyond the domain look so weak and cruel.
That gentleness weakens the justice of hatred and vengeance; that idealism is the most unacceptable betrayal of one's own blood debts and suffering.
Therefore, every person in the Old World is filled with unprovoked anger, hatred, vigilance, and the determination to strike down the outside world. Compared to other regions, the struggles of the Old World are often accompanied by the slaughter of cities and the destruction of entire regions.
Whether it is Chaos or the so-called side of Order, what they do is much the same.
Destroying a city, tampering with a history book, letting all past greatness be buried in the dust. Only those broken walls and some sporadic, furtive legends record that the cycle of this world has played out over and over again.
The Knights of Bretonnia are also a part of this cycle. They believe in justice and honor, and morality illuminates the entire Old World like a star in the night. But likewise, covered beneath the honor of Bretonnia are the blood, tears, and suffering of countless serfs.
But so what? For the serfs, it is enough that the Knights can guarantee their safety.
Otherwise, these powerless commoners would simply die.
A pathetic death, a meaningless death.
Like a bedbug or some small maggot, dying in misery anywhere.
That is why the Knights appear, why the Knights enjoy the best food, the best education, the most perfect armor, and then go to confront the most evil enemies.
The Knights of Bretonnia believe that they will not feel fear when confronting any powerful enemy. Just like their legends, under the light of the Goddess's Holy Grail, all the Knights will polish their armor and carry out their chivalry in the final battle.
At the edge of this world, they finally realized the essence of what they were confronting.
"So that's it... this is the true enemy... it is my first time seeing such a scene..."
Tearing off the veil on his face, a Knight looked at the distant scenery with a dull gaze.
Under Li Ang's command, countless Knights gathered on the hillside, overlooking the twisted landscape below.
Amidst the massive wounds caused by the Stonehenge and the roar of Magic manipulation, the Knights, through the distorted light curtain, vaguely saw the boundless demon army covering the snowfield.
These demons roared and twisted, continuously charging at the invisible barrier. They charged fearlessly at the edge of the Stonehenge's coverage, then twisted into dust within the rules of reality, dissipating into the air.
They are almost succeeding.
The twisted will scattered by the dying demons makes those flames of Chaos more solid.
Those creations of sin roared, looking at the Knights with eagerness, and let out threatening roars.
Only under the use of a Magic environment and special rituals can demons appear in the real world without restraint. There is another method, which is to completely distort real space. And now, that massive Stonehenge has torn apart the space between reality and illusion, and that vast will has already twisted the demon-infested snowfield into a hotbed. And the monsters are now using their existence to repeat this process of distortion.
They are about to adapt to the rules of the Stonehenge.
Although the environment still appears cold, there is no doubt that this is land capable of sustaining life. And the Knights stood like this on the hillside full of black soil, overlooking the boundless demon army, feeling the fear and excitement overflowing within their bodies.
But just at this moment, a deafening laughter suddenly came from within the demon army.
"Hahaha! Knights of Bretonnia!"
An unimaginably massive crimson demon crashed over, pushing all the surrounding demons aside, its burning pupils looking at the Knights, emitting a blasphemous roar.
"I have seen you! That was truly a refreshing slaughter! Why hide behind this barrier! Why not dare to face me as you did back then! Face your death! Face me, this great Knight of Calamity!"
"... Hmph, clown-like tricks."
The leader of the Falcon Knights looked at the demon army below the hillside, a look of disdain appearing on his face.
Glancing at the unimaginably tall demon, then looking at its posture of not daring to cross the line, the Knights knew clearly in their hearts.
That demon is extremely cunning, wanting to trick them out of the divine site so it can kill them all.
Seeming to have had its scheme seen through, the angry red demon roared furiously on the other side of the world filled with natural elements, smashing the ground full of magma and blizzards to pieces.
"I swear I will kill you! Little bugs! I will definitely kill you! As long as I can walk behind this Veil! This hateful barrier of reality blocks everything!"
"Come over! Walk over! Let me kill you all! Didn't you hear me!!!"
"Come out and face me!"
"..."
The Knights overlooked the demons below, unmoved.
However, it is probably only a matter of time before these demon armies enter the range covered by the Stonehenge.
With those constantly charging demon minions, the scales covering their bodies look increasingly real, and the sprayed flames, that aura of sin, seem to be close at hand.
It will not take long for these demons to rely on the reality distortion brought about by the deaths of their companions to finally walk inside the Stonehenge. Just by looking, one knows that those demons probably won't consider them any difficult opponents.
But, will the Goddess's Knights give up just like this? The Holy Grail is here, and they are here.
How could these demons compete with them, the blessed ones? This is merely a step on their path of glory, a link to glorify them.
"Fellow Knights, please listen to me."
Urging his steed, the leader of the Falcon Knights held high the shining Holy Grail in his hand, walked to the front of everyone, and said in a loud voice.
