Chapter 6: I am the Star-Born, the Ruler of the Old Days
In reality, Li Ang's system is a very complex one, linked in every aspect to the civilization as a whole.
Unlike the simple and crude systems seen on certain websites in the past, it is less of a "Civilization System" and more like transforming himself into the psyche of the entire civilization, becoming their Soul.
A living civilization, an actively enterprising civilization.
Rather than evolving his own physical body to possess immense power, what Li Ang is most interested in now is expanding his civilization to become the greatest in this world, or even the greatest in the entire universe.
Others are "the one is the all," with the great power of an individual representing a civilization.
But Li Ang is "the all is the one."
Everything about the civilization has become an extension of his individual will.
This feeling is marvelous, and also magnificent. It even gives Li Ang the illusion that he is omnipotent.
But now, there is one final issue hindering the power that makes him omnipotent.
"Your civilization's leader, Monster Hunter Wufuruike, has doubts in his heart!"
"Resolve the doubts in his heart to gain the loyalty of the hero Wufuruike, and simultaneously unlock the Norscan city-building option!"
"..."
Just wait for him to return; what else can be done?
Looking at the large Wonder icon displayed in the system, along with the enticing job positions above it, Li Ang can only sit in the wooden hut, waiting for the return of Wufuruike's expedition team.
However, he is not idle; instead, he carefully studies the system that seems to have merged with his own Soul.
A series of annotations, prompts, and relevant data gradually unfold before Li Ang, giving him a deeper understanding of his Civilization System.
Food, Productivity, and Magic.
These are the three basic values Li Ang can see at present.
The first two are self-explanatory, representing the generalization of survival and development respectively. But the last one, Magic, is a very strange option in Li Ang's eyes, because it is linked to environmental emotions.
In Li Ang's system, the more people's emotions lean toward certain states, the more the settlement itself gathers different kinds of Magic output.
When people's emotions are stable, there is actually not much Magic produced.
And the recent ups and downs have already brought Li Ang four points of Magic output.
But what Magic can actually do and what its function is, Li Ang is not yet very clear.
However, Li Ang has a very clear feeling that Magic is likely much more effective than he imagined.
Moreover, the series of tags behind that Planet Wonder also makes Li Ang feel somewhat at ease.
Planet, Wonder, Alien.
This means he cannot be limited to just this planet.
The vastness of this world far exceeds the imagination of ordinary people.
Just thinking about this gives Li Ang infinite motivation to carefully observe the small territory in his hands, and the more he looks, the happier he feels.
Although it is a godforsaken place, it also means safety.
Although there are no living people, that also means he can bide his time to unleash a big move, right? With an Urban Wonder that has universal conversion, plus strange things like Magic, Li Ang believes he can indeed lead the Norscans out of their predicament.
There is no reason for him, a cheater, to be blocked here by this environment. If he still couldn't get out after cheating, that would be a bit unjustifiable. At worst, he can just hole up in the Wonder with his people and create a Peach Blossom Spring; anyway, seeing that there are many women among the slaves, reproduction should be no problem. Although he had many thoughts about the slaves and the environment before, after awakening the system, Li Ang quickly stepped into his role.
After studying for a while, he heard a burst of hurried footsteps coming from outside.
Wufuruike soon pushed the door open and entered. Looking at Li Ang, who was sitting on the chair with a calm expression, Wufuruike opened his mouth with a flushed face, seemingly wanting to say something, but was unable to speak due to some shock.
Looking up at the somewhat shattered expression of Wufuruike, Li Ang knows very well why he has such a look.
After all, that is the expression a primitive man would have when looking up and seeing a Star Base.
Li Ang was also stunned on the chair for a long time when he first saw it, but he recovered quickly.
So he grinned at the visibly distressed Wufuruike, revealing a meaningful expression.
"You're back? You must have seen what I wanted you to see, right?"
"... Yes. Star Child."
Wufuruike swallowed a mouthful of saliva, then sighed, pulled over a stool, and sat down.
"I know you are not a mortal, and I know you possess incomparably great power. But why choose us? What can we Norscans possibly do for you?"
"You have faith, yet you are confused by my existence? I can feel the confusion and unease in your heart, but I have already proven my ability... Interested in having a chat? Wufuruike?
I hope to bring you a better future, believe me.
This is my goal, and it is my only thought."
Looking at the tall illiterate man in front of him, Li Ang sat on the chair, smiling, and began to spout nonsense.
Since he wants to do big things, he might as well take all the initiative into his own hands from the start.
Decentralization, trust, and assistance—these things are meaningless in the face of the system.
If it were an ordinary system, Li Ang would definitely look for the safest and simplest method to proceed.
But possessing the Civilization System, what Li Ang needs now is for this civilization to have only his voice.
Then the simplest way is to do exactly as he is doing now: using unquestionable miracles and abilities to keep these individuals, who have the image of gods in their minds, completely in the palm of his hand.
So, after thinking for a moment, Li Ang looked at the somewhat bewildered Norscan, smiled toothily, and said very kindly: "Your meeting with me is a part of fate, Wufuruike."
"Fate?"
"That's right. Before the Chaos of this world was opened, and before the Ancient Ones and even more distant creatures arrived, I once made a covenant with the primitive Human."
"Because I am the Vanguard, I am the Absolute One."
"I want to bestow beauty upon you."
Li Ang opened the panel, looked at the description and icon of the Natural Wonder, and then pasted the information onto himself without hesitation.
"Because I am the Ruler of the Old Days, I am the Star-Born. You will bear my blessing and become the People of the Stars."
"I will grant the greatest mercy to all Human on this planet in my own way, and I will also give you the most beautiful future; this was the covenant I made with the Human back then."
"And you are the first batch of evangelists of my gospel."
Looking at the Human racial purity symbol in the notification that indicated an 80% reduction in all attributes for interspecies unions, Li Ang looked at the not-very-bright Wufuruike in front of him and said with a natural expression.
