Chapter 1370: Floating City Planning, Psionic Cabin
What made Xia Duo even happier was that there were already Mages in Evereska starting to repair the Mythallar; this was simply a living, breathing instructional guide!
Besides observing the main body of the Manda Water System's Mythallar, he was also tracking the progress of the Evereska Mages' repairs, attempting to decipher more details regarding the Evereska Mythallar.
The parts related to the Distributed Node design, in particular, held an astonishingly great attraction for Xia Duo!
The Mythallar Core is already on its way, and the Floating City is not far off either; so, what would be the most suitable infrastructure for a Floating City?
That, without a doubt, is a Mythallar.
The Mythallar Core that Iolum has researched at this stage, even for a considerable time in the future, would find it difficult to unfold a private-natured Micro Magic Net like true Arcane Fire.
To obtain a relatively independent and stable spellcasting environment, besides a Private Magic Web, the only thing Xia Duo could think of was to use Mythallar technology to carve out a relatively independent private Territory from the external Great Magic Net environment, using this as a transition.
And if one wants to let the Mythallar follow the Floating City everywhere, then one cannot use a Mythallar without Material Nodes (though, of course, the construction threshold for such a Mythallar is also higher); one needs to use one with Material Nodes.
After all, Elves are accustomed to gathering Mythallar Nodes in one place for better protection, whereas Xia Duo prefers the Evereska style—Distributed Nodes—where even if some are destroyed, it does not affect the use of core functions.
Of course, whether Evereska can achieve the ideal state Xia Duo envisions is likely impossible.
But at least the trend can already be seen; according to the destruction caused by the duel between Hande and Yilisaier earlier, an ordinary Mythallar might have already spewed out a large amount of chaotic Magic.
Yet, the Evereska Mythallar did not show any overly serious chaotic phenomena; right at the Dawn Plaza below the damaged area of the Mythallar, the celebration proceeded as usual, and only the atmosphere was a bit off, with nothing else being affected.
Although this could also be because the core nodes were not damaged, Xia Duo would rather believe that the Distributed Node design had performed its duty.
The Mythallar Core concerns the energy output power of the Floating City, as well as the most important energy reserves; building a few more is not unimaginable, and at that time, arranging a Mythallar with the Mythallar Core as a node would be mutually beneficial!
……
Carrying beautiful visions of the future, the pace of Xia Duo's footsteps lightened a bit more, and before he knew it, he had walked to the end of the East River, one of the six main streams of the Manda Water System.
From afar, he saw a rushing waterfall nearly a hundred meters wide and several hundred meters high pouring down from the mountain wall ahead; seeing this scene, Xia Duo wished he could fly over there immediately to take a good look, as that must be another core node!
There was still a path ahead, but unfortunately, that was no longer a Domain that a visitor like him could enter.
Although he did not have an open interface to link to the Evereska Mythallar, through his observation and interpretation of the Mythallar here last night and just now, he already knew quite a few secrets.
If he were to walk any further forward, he would inevitably attract the attention of relevant personnel; of course, he might already have been noticed, just that no one had reminded him yet.
But it was time to stop while he was ahead.
Next, Xia Duo walked a few more steps forward and stopped in front of an inconspicuous shop. Because the Northland Alliance signing ceremony was being held today, many shops in Evereska City had suspended business to go watch the ceremony.
This shop was one of the few still open that Xia Duo had seen along the way; since he couldn't go any further anyway, he might as well go in and take a look, just to use it as a cover!
Just as he reached the entrance, the wind chimes hanging from the eaves moved without wind, emitting a series of tinkling sounds with a distinct rhythm and cadence, followed immediately by a lively voice of an Elf girl coming from inside the dimly lit shop:
"A guest has arrived, a guest has arrived! Welcome to the Psionic Cabin of Kalish Aier!"
This voice said it twice in a row, and then the lights in the shop flared up, instantly becoming bright. This was the first time Xia Duo had seen such treatment in an Elf shop, and it was even related to Psionic.
It was just that the shop could be seen through almost at a glance; although it was slightly blurry, there was no Elf girl present, nor were there any other Elves or any living creatures.
This couldn't help but ignite a trace of curiosity in him. After a moment of thought, he walked in without hesitation. Upon entering, as if passing through a layer of Jieti at the entrance, the interior of the shop immediately became clear.
Of course, there was still no girl, only a male Moon Elf sitting behind the counter with his eyes closed, motionless. If it weren't for his tightly furrowed brows, as if he were struggling, Xia Duo would have thought he was asleep.
But clearly, Elves do not need to sleep, and the meditation used for rest is not in this state. Xia Duo walked slowly to the front of the other person and asked softly:
"Boss, may I look around here?"
"You may, look around as you please. If you need anything, you can tell me at any time. I am in the middle of Cultivation, so I won't entertain you, powerful human guest!" The boss did not open his mouth, but his voice appeared out of thin air within the shop.
Xia Duo could only vaguely perceive the vibration of the Magic Net nearby and could not be sure if this was the normal fluctuation when repairing a Mythallar.
And a word spoken by this Elf boss also caught his attention—
"Cultivation?"
This was the first time Xia Duo had heard this Elvish term. At first, he was a bit confused, but soon he deduced the meaning of the word through its phonemes, intonation structure, and the context of the preceding and following text—
A form of training, similar to "meditation," but he could not know anything further.
This was an unfamiliar term. Before today, Xia Duo had never heard this word either in the Main Plane or in the Projection Plane, but he guessed that it was highly likely related to Psionic.
Thus, while pondering the true meaning of "Cultivation," he wandered around the shop, which did not look very spacious.
Except for a counter in front of the shopkeeper that was more like a standing cabinet, there were no other distinctive furniture or furnishings in this shop.
Most of the goods were suspended above a thin wooden stick covered in carvings, while a few were hung on winding, twisted branches and vines, giving one the feeling that they could be reached with a single stretch of the hand.
As for what kind of goods they were, Xia Duo watched for a long while but couldn't make heads or tails of them; judging from the surface alone, the categories were quite rich.
There were musical instruments, ornaments, and weapons, and even some things Xia Duo had never thought would appear here, such as a piece of rope, a bird whistle, and a pitch-black stone.
Yet, these things did not carry a single bit of Magic Aura, but their prices were set entirely by referencing Magic Items, or even higher!
When Xia Duo stared intently at one of the items, a string of light-like Elvish characters would naturally appear in the void above it, displaying its price. Among them, a black stone that he considered the most inconspicuous was actually as high as 100,000 Gold Coins!
This is not how you rip people off!
