Chapter 1472: Magic Laser Gun, Sword Qi Across the Horizon

After some thought, Xia Duo decided to stop pursuing high efficiency through large-scale, one-time methods, and instead sought high efficiency through small-scale, repeated efforts.

In layman's terms, he just needed to find a way to fell trees efficiently; as for the subsequent clearing and leveling of the land, the Territory's residents could handle that entirely.

Once his line of thinking shifted, Xia Duo immediately felt a sense of sudden enlightenment.

Wanting to fell trees efficiently was simple: just equip every resident with an Adamantine saw, but obviously, on one hand,

the Tower of Time could not possibly use that much Adamantine here, and on the other hand, Xia Duo could not wait that long.

The efficiency after switching to Adamantine tools would not actually be much higher than it was now.

Magic still had to be involved to be truly efficient. Xia Duo had thought about using his Flying Sword to cut them, but his Flying Sword was named "Sword," yet it was actually more of a "shuttle."

It was certainly excellent for assassination or armor-piercing, but for felling trees, it might not even be as good as an ordinary axe!

More importantly, frequent use of the Flying Sword would exacerbate the degree of Elemental Transmutation reactions within its internal Mithril Component, which was somewhat counterproductive.

Using spells would naturally be more convenient, and Xia Duo could think of many spells capable of efficient tree felling or, in other words, logging.

But since he had thought of the Flying Sword, he wanted to try another concept regarding it.

Xia Duo then performed alchemy with his bare hands, dividing the Adamantine ingot into individual grains the size of rice, and filled a small money pouch with them.

"Let's go! We're heading north."

Niya felt exceptionally curious about this move by Xia Duo. She could not understand what a pile of Adamantine particles had to do with land reclamation. Could it be that he wanted to attach Adamantine blades to the residents' tools?

But if that were the case, it would conflict with the initial plan. Even if they switched to Adamantine tools, it would be impossible to reclaim a new piece of land in a short time!

The more curious Niya became, the less Xia Duo would say. Soon, the two arrived at a primitive forest on the northwest side of the Tower of Time, where there were few traces of human activity.

"How about you look away for a second? If you see the spell fail, I'll lose so much face!"

Small jokes between a married couple are a pleasure when used occasionally, but saying them constantly is in poor taste. Xia Duo smiled slightly and quickly entered a state of focused Spellcasting.

A Flying Sword, as the name implies, is a sword that can fly, but in Xia Duo's hometown, there was a more romantic interpretation of the Flying Sword—Sword Qi!

Xia Duo certainly could not create the Sword Qi that only existed in novels, but he could try to imitate a similar existence.

He picked up an Adamantine particle from the small money pouch at his waist, balanced it on a thin, long branch he had snapped on the way, and extended it forward.

He then focused his mind, using the Adamantine particle as a core to rapidly weave a Spell Source Point. The moment the spell took shape, the Adamantine particle sprayed forward a thin, long ray glowing with blue light.

But this was not an energy ray created by a typical Creation School spell; it was a material ray, or more accurately, that ray contained a large number of tiny Adamantine particles indistinguishable to the naked eye.

This spell was originally prepared by Xia Duo for the "Spell Breaker unit" of his Territory. He had even designed a specific firearm to go with it, using Adamantine particles as bullets; one shot would release an Adamantine Ray, with power far exceeding ordinary energy rays.

Similar to a laser gun.

But here, obviously, one could not just use the ray form of Adamantine particles. In fact, these Adamantine particles, excited by a special interference field, possessed an extremely high energy level, appearing more like an energy form, yet they were indeed still material.

Only substances like Adamantine, which are sturdy and possess extremely strong physical properties, could be handled this way. If other substances were used, such as gold, silver, or even Mithril, such excitation would cause the Elemental Transmutation reaction to be extremely violent.

And Elemental Transmutation reactions consume a large amount of energy, so the resulting jet or "Sword Qi" would have limited power and would not shoot far.

Besides rays, these high-energy Adamantine particles could theoretically form shapes like "Sword Qi" or "Flying Blades."

It was just that controlling them was quite complex. When the speed dropped below a certain range, the Adamantine particles would fall from their original high-energy state and would no longer be controlled by the interference field.

If she did that one more time, the tree would fall.

But Xia Duo shook his head. "That's too wasteful; the wood could be used for papermaking! Besides, there are so many trees in this area; are you willing to spend over half a year coming here to clear them bit by bit?"

"But your spell isn't even as good as mine!"

"That was a mistake on my part. Watch me do it again!"

As he spoke, Xia Duo took out another Adamantine particle, wedged it onto the branch, extended it forward, and then winked at Niya. "Watch closely!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than the Adamantine particle underwent a change, once again turning into a ray and shooting forward rapidly. But this time, Xia Duo was exceptionally focused; although some of the jet still leaked, most of it was under his control.

As the interference field changed, the ray form of the Adamantine particles was rapidly converted into a blade-like shape with a certain width, shooting out toward the side.

Compared to the ray form, the blade-like shape had greater visibility.

Xia Duo could clearly see a rectangle two or three meters long and half a meter wide, laying flat as it penetrated the trees in front, leaving a long, sheet-like tail flame that extended far into the distance.
