Chapter 1555: Heavenly God, North Side of the Island

~7 min read 1,393 words

The sudden disappearance of the two large water elements left the two murloc Wizards in shock, but upon seeing the stones and steamed buns floating toward them, their attention was temporarily diverted.

There were two steamed buns, which were easy to divide, and the two murloc Wizards each took one and stuffed them into their mouths; however, there was only one stone, and the two murlocs bared their teeth and snarled, neither willing to let the other take it first.

Seeing this, Xia Duo transformed another stone and pushed it toward the silver-skinned murloc Wizard; the meaning was clear—one for each—and the previous one was quickly picked up by the green-skinned murloc Wizard.

The murlocs' method of testing the stones was similar to how they tested the steamed buns: they stuffed them directly into their mouths, bit down hard a few times, then spat them back out, clutching them in their hands, unwilling to let go.

"Ooh-wah ooh-wah, wah-ooh-ooh-ooh-wah!"

"Wah-ooh!"

The two murlocs, who had originally belonged to opposing sides, were actually negotiating right in front of Xia Duo, and at the same time, a large amount of conscious information was transmitted through the Mind Link.

Xia Duo roughly distinguished it; most of it was related to a ceasefire, and of course, there were also the two murlocs' inner thoughts about him, this "alien."

"Ceasefire! Submit! Become my subjects!" Xia Duo sent a message again.

Upon receiving this message, the two murlocs immediately stopped their discussion, their four round, bulging eyes staring straight at Xia Duo, and intense intent overflowed from the Mind Link—

"More food! More land!"

This time, Xia Duo did not satisfy them directly; instead, he cast a Spell to extract a fish and a pearl from the island below, then told the two murloc Wizards:

"Submit, offer tribute, and then I shall grant food and land!"

"Wah-ooh—"

"Wah-ooh—"

Two long, low, and highly penetrating hissing sounds were emitted one after the other from the throats of the two murloc Wizards, followed by rising tones with even more variations.

Soon, Xia Duo saw two long dragons composed of schools of fish rise from either end of the island below, and before long, they arrived beside the two murloc Wizards, gathering together quietly.

Subsequently, these two dense "fish clusters" were pushed toward Xia Duo; as for the pearls, the two murloc Wizards did not bring them out.

Xia Duo could understand this, however; while searching the island earlier, he had discovered that pearls were rare here, and the vast majority had already been collected.

This was, of course, not because the murlocs had developed a concept of money, but because they used the pearls here as medicine; the two murloc teams that had just been fighting already had individual murlocs spitting out pearls from their mouths, crushing them, and smearing them onto their wounds with the mucus on their skin.

Whether it accelerated healing, Xia Duo could not tell in such a short time, but the hemostatic effect was immediate; those few murlocs who used the pearls stopped bleeding almost instantly, forming a sharp contrast with the murlocs nearby who were also injured but had not used pearls.

Looking at the two fish clusters floating quietly before him, Xia Duo took them directly into his Personal Space, then took out a large pile of food—mainly steamed buns and salted meat, of course.

Both of these were reserve dry rations that Xia Duo carried with him.

However, Xia Duo also discovered that food from the Surface was difficult to preserve for long under water, far inferior to the schools of fish that could be eaten as needed and would even naturally grow if left uneaten.

These foods could mostly only serve as a novelty and could not become a bond to maintain contact between the two sides.

After thinking for a moment, Xia Duo transformed a portion of stones in addition to the food and pushed them toward the murloc Wizards together.

The two murloc Wizards accepted the food, immediately divided it equally into two portions, and then each arranged for their subordinates to store it away before coming to Xia Duo together, swaying their bodies and saying in unison:

"Ooh-ooh-ooh, great Heavenly God, please accept our submission!"

The term "Heavenly God" was Xia Duo's own translation, because apart from this, he really could not find a word to correspond to the existence in the murloc Wizards' consciousness that included concepts like "descended from the sky," "powerful," "majestic," and "omnipotent."

The Blue Crystal Plane was so monotonous and lacked any normal natural phenomena that these murlocs probably could not even form primitive nature worship.

Their so-called "Heavenly God" was not at all the same concept as the "god" understood by humans in the Main Plane; it was closer to an anthropomorphic concept like "fish field" or "shell farm."

Xia Duo did not mind; he did not think much of these few murlocs anyway, so he would just keep them as pets for now; as the only intelligent species in the Blue Crystal Plane, perhaps there would be a use for them in the future.

After completing the trade with the murlocs, Xia Duo descended to the center of the island; this had originally been a battlefield, and there was not a single plant on the surface, only a layer of sludge composed of who knows what, perhaps flesh and blood.

Xia Duo built an altar-like platform here, left his Magic Mark in the center of the platform, and after giving some simple instructions, he disappeared from the murlocs' field of vision.

Xia Duo had a rough understanding of the situation on the water side of the Blue Crystal Plane, but regarding the Vacuum Side, Aiboke had not conducted much investigation before, only confirming that there was nothing but a vacuum there.

Xia Duo's idea was to place the 【Mythra】 device on the north side of Murloc Island, the side facing the vacuum, and while at it, also modify the Plane environment.

When he came here last time, he had thought about migrating people to the Blue Crystal Plane, but it could not be implemented due to various conditions; now, however, it was worth considering.

Murloc Island was about thirty miles long and ten miles wide; if it were well-modified, it could house at least hundreds of thousands to a million people, which already far exceeded the total population of the Savile Territory and Daxia Territory.

Not to mention, there was even more vast space outside the island; after all, it was a proper Material Plane, and although it was not as vast as the Main Plane, it was far from comparable to the short-lived Semi-plane.

The Semi-planes that Xia Duo could currently create were not only far inferior to the Blue Crystal Plane in terms of lifespan, but their size was also incomparable, and in the foreseeable future, this situation would be difficult to change.

After entering the side of the island facing the vacuum, Xia Duo felt the strong threat of the vacuum above; without the Plane Attunement spell, ordinary humans would probably die within ten seconds or so at most.

It was not just the vacuum itself, but also the faint Negative Energy Erosion that made Xia Duo feel quite uncomfortable; after multiple bloodline 【upgrades】, in addition to his control over Wind Elements and Water Elements reaching the mastery level, he also had a fairly strong instinctive drive for Positive Energy.

This instinct derived from his bloodline could even allow his body to naturally radiate Positive Energy brilliance; correspondingly, this also made him exceptionally sensitive to Negative Energy, which was the exact opposite of Positive Energy.

If humans lived here for a long time, their lifespans would be greatly reduced compared to normal circumstances.

This was simply the opposite of the Seven Towers' 【Green Field Plane】; that place could extend life, while this place would shorten it!

Of course, the other half of the Blue Crystal Plane's water body was filled with faint Positive Energy, but humans were not fish, and without special protection, they could not live there for long.

By comparison, the vacuum side was easier to modify; as long as air was continuously injected and a Gravity Field was placed on the surface of the island, humans would be able to move about normally on the island.
