Chapter 1754: Judgment, Misleading

It really is a demon!

Although Xia Duo had already confirmed the identity of the other party from the demonic influence left behind after the mutated hyena died, he had always harbored a sliver of hope in his heart; he did not wish for the Daxia Homeland to be involved with demons.

But now, this Divine Envoy told him that what he held in his hand was indeed a demon!

"This Divine Envoy, allow me to explain. I discovered these demons in a distant village, but I was unable to handle them myself, which is why I sent them to the Kingdom of Radiance."

Hearing Xia Duo say this, the Divine Envoy Captain's expression remained unchanged, still very cold, but from the tone of his voice, one could detect that his attitude had softened quite a bit:

"Cleaning up demons is our duty; just leave them to us. As for the Demon Aura on your body, I will help you purify it. Additionally, I need you to lead me to the place where you discovered the demons; I need to track their source."

"No problem."

Xia Duo agreed immediately. Afterward, he looked at the Force Sphere in his hand, inside which seventeen hyena demons existed in a state of near-stasis, and so he asked: "Should I release them right here?"

"No need, just throw it down," the Divine Envoy Captain pointed to the barren land below and said coldly, while simultaneously making a gesture to the other Divine Envoy team members behind him.

Xia Duo was not worried about being attacked by these Divine Envoys, but he still took Peiluo and retreated slightly before throwing the Force Sphere in his hand down.

The Force Sphere was a seal and would not loosen in a short time, though it was hard to say for sure; after all, the current Xia Duo had not yet truly mastered the techniques of Plane Beacon.

As that small, transparent sphere mixed with more than ten gray-black stains fell rapidly downward, the Divine Envoy Captain raised the sword in his hand and shouted loudly—

"Judgment!"

At the same time, the other Divine Envoys also raised the longswords in their hands and shouted Judgment. In an instant, Holy Light shone, and Xia Duo could vaguely see a massive, incomparable giant sword manifesting from the Holy Light.

As if it had activated a tracking cheat, it struck the falling Force Sphere directly.

The next moment, both the sealing Spell that Xia Duo had created—which was considered quite sturdy—and the seventeen hyena demons that were unable to move within the seal, were transformed into Void.

Only a dense, holy aura spread out below.

Xia Duo felt a chill in his heart. He had not seen any trick to that attack just now; it seemed to be purely a shock of Holy Power, but he imagined it could not be that simple.

More than ten demons were annihilated in an instant; this power was conservatively estimated to be no less than a 9th Circle Spell. If it were just a shock of Holy Power, it would be difficult to achieve such an effect.

Or perhaps, in the Outer Planes, Holy Power possesses an additional attack bonus.

However, at this moment, Xia Duo had no mind to think about the problem of Holy Power. The Divine Envoy before him had already approached and seemed to be about to perform the purification on him as previously stated.

When in the Main Plane, Xia Duo had once been purified of so-called "Demon Aura" at the Sewendun Dashendian, but he had still left behind the coordinates of the area where the demons were located. He just did not know if this Divine Envoy's purification would also purify the coordinates away.

The full name of the coordinates was "Arrival Coordinates for Xia Duo's Soul Transition to the Outer Planes." If there were no "Demon Aura," he could have removed these coordinates himself after his most recent Bloodline Awakening.

But he had not, mainly because he was thinking that one day he might have the chance to kill his way to the demons' home base.

Especially with these hyena demons this time, Xia Duo felt it was very likely they were targeting him. This was different from the coordinates he had obtained in Seventon previously; the demons there had no causal connection to him, but this time it was different.

Xia Duo wanted to keep these coordinates, at least to figure out where the enemies came from, and even further, to figure out exactly who was targeting him!

However, in front of the Divine Envoy, he was not stupid enough to tell the other party to hold back, but before the other party cast the Spell, he still subtly suggested that he did not want to receive a Holy Baptism, only to have the Demon Aura dispelled.

The "Holy Baptism" Xia Duo mentioned here was not the large-scale Divine Magic similar to "Restoration Baptism" used by Radiant Priests in the Main Plane, but rather referred to the Holy Power that naturally dissipated when casting Divine Magic, euphemistically called "Holy Baptism."

If it were a priest from the Main Plane, Xia Duo would have just accepted it, but these Divine Envoys clearly had better control over Holy Power than the priests of the Main Plane, and because they were close to the gods, it was unknown whether the Holy Power had some additional miraculous properties.

In order to avoid "accidentally injuring" the coordinates, Xia Duo could only bite the bullet and refuse the other party's good intentions. Of course, to make the upcoming trip to the Daxia Homeland go more smoothly, he also mentioned the Divine Envoy Kafa to this Divine Envoy Captain.

Clearly, compared to whether a mortal accepted his goodwill, the Divine Envoy before him cared more about his own kind, and not just his own kind.

"You actually know Lord Kafa?" The Divine Envoy Captain's face was as cold as ever, but his voice clearly revealed a feeling of surprise.

"Last time in the Shenguo of the God of Exploration and Protection, it was Divine Envoy Kafa who personally sent me back to the Mortal Plane!"

Priests in the Main Plane all had the Domain of Honesty Divine Magic used to Identify lies; needless to say, Divine Envoys in the Shenguo might even have the ability to judge lies as an instinct.

In front of the Divine Envoy, Xia Duo would certainly not lie, but what he did not say was that last time in the Princess's Shenguo, it was only the second time he had met Divine Envoy Kafa.

With Xia Duo saying this, Divine Envoy Kafa naturally cooperated very well. When the Divine Magic was cast, there was not the slightest dissipation of Holy Power. However, whether the coordinates had been erased or not, Xia Duo was currently in the Outer Planes and could not easily check.

He would only be able to see once he returned to the Main Plane; hopefully, they would not be erased.

Next, on the way to the Daxia Homeland, perhaps because of the selective narrative from before, Divine Envoy Taide mistakenly thought that Xia Duo and Kafa had some sort of friendship, and as soon as they set off, he began to inquire about his past with Kafa.

This made Xia Duo feel that things seemed to be sliding toward an unknown direction beyond his control, so he could only bite the bullet and say:

"Divine Envoy Taide, regarding Divine Envoy Kafa and myself, I cannot reveal too much before obtaining the other party's consent."

This sounded as if Kafa and Xia Duo had an agreement not to speak casually about their relationship, but in reality, it was just that Xia Duo himself did not want to say, and at the same time, this did not count as deception.

However, Xia Duo was also worried that this misleading would cause displeasure from all sides once exposed, so he steered the topic toward the goal of this trip—the demons. He asked Taide:

"I wonder how much Divine Envoy Taide knows about the kind of demons from just now?"

"The kind of demons from just now?"

Taide was clearly stunned for a moment, then explained: "Calling them demons is not wrong, but in essence, they are just Breath Infected Bodies of the Dream Abyss, often existing as cannon fodder for true demons. Wanting to kill them is also very simple; you just need to instantly annihilate their bodies."

Instantly annihilate their bodies?

Xia Duo thought of the two hyenas he had eliminated at the Daxia Homeland before; it was indeed by using Elemental Burst to instantly annihilate their bodies that they did not resurrect.
