Chapter 1833: Three Feet High
Outside the Mythallar Ruins.
After a few simple attempts, Xia Duo finally decided to completely collapse the Magic Net in this area and accelerate its transformation into a Magic Net Dead Zone.
With the idea in mind, all that remained was execution; he first circled the Mythallar Ruins a few times, roughly estimating the Spell Energy Level required.
Although he was very willing to believe that this ruin had been abandoned or ignored by the Elf after multiple fruitless explorations in the past, if any major disturbance occurred here, it would inevitably attract some attention.
Therefore, he needed to minimize any disturbances that might arise before and after Spellcasting.
The on-site survey lasted for more than an hour, but the subsequent calculations required a bit more time, and this was only the result with the assistance of the intellectual brain.
Before starting this Projection Plane exploration, Xia Duo had long ago placed the intellectual brain into his Personal Space to prevent forgetting to bring it in the rush of discovering the Projection Plane.
If there had been no intellectual brain assistance this time, in order to create a perfectly calibrated destructive Spell, Xia Duo would have had to spend at least several more days calculating the relevant parameters.
But now it was very simple; the entire calculation, and even the Spell design, was completed in five or six hours.
As for the Spellcasting, it was like a controlled demolition operation on Earth; the truly tedious part was all at the beginning, and the final placement of explosives and ignition were purely trivial physical labor.
For Xia Duo, who was already proficient in Spellcasting, as long as he was slightly cautious during the process, there was almost no possibility of error.
The facts were exactly as Xia Duo had anticipated—
When the Spell was completed, the Chaos Weave within the range of the Mythallar Ruins was like being pressed on a pause button; after a brief and rapid vibration, Xia Duo's vision went dark.
The Magic Aura that had originally displayed various patterns dimmed instantly.
As for Reality, it hardly triggered any major disturbance; the dark clouds that had originally hung high above the ruins retained their original form, but the lightning that had been flickering within them had already vanished without a trace.
"Thump—"
Xia Duo casually pulled a pebble and tossed it into the ruins; hearing only a dull "plop," the pebble rolled a few times in the dust-filled ruins before stopping due to its irregular shape.
The various anomalies triggered by "throwing a stone to ask the way" were now completely gone; seeing this, the corners of Xia Duo's mouth lifted slightly, revealing a satisfied smile.
Everything he saw now matched his expectations before casting the Spell, and the next step was to search the entire ruin.
Without the interference of the Chaos Weave, this step had almost no challenge for Xia Duo, who had long since expanded his Personal Space to the limit (of his current Arcane Crystal).
But just as Xia Duo rushed into the Mythallar Ruins full of confidence, his vision blurred, and the next moment his perspective returned to the Treant body of Xilin.
"This—"
Xia Duo was momentarily dumbfounded; he seemed to have forgotten that his Avatar Spell was also created by Magic, and in such an extreme environment as a Magic Net Dead Zone, it naturally could not be maintained.
"Did I sabotage myself?"
At the time, his mind was full of how to deal with the Magic Net and how to retrieve the Nether Scroll, but he had ignored the foundation of his own existence; was this greed clouding his judgment, or was the experience of the avatar too realistic?
But regardless, the exploration had to continue, and it had to be fast!
If any Elf discovered that the Magic Net in that area had fallen into a dead zone, they might well organize an exploration; if some lucky person got there first, that would be very troublesome.
For a time, various plans ran through Xia Duo's mind; it was just a Magic Net Dead Zone, and it wasn't as if there was no way to bypass it, but among the various plans he could think of now, they were either time-consuming or required his main body to act.
But for the current Xia Duo, neither of these was what he wanted.
The former undoubtedly had too many variables, and the latter might be even more troublesome; as the Xilin main body was an important Node of the Shaerwen Mythallar, even if it could move, a pile of trouble awaited him.
"Sigh—"
Xia Duo sighed inwardly; trying to save effort had led to even more trouble! But even if it was troublesome, it had to be done; at least giving up without even trying was not his style.
He would first try the Saint Form Avatar of Xilin; if this avatar also could not enter the dead zone, then Xia Duo would have no choice but to take it slow.
It was fortunate that a Myth Lock Design could not be completed in a single day; it was foreseeable that he would stay in this Projection Plane for a period of time, and the only concern was the Elf explorers who might appear during this time.
Thinking this way, Xia Duo created an avatar again, left Shaerwen quietly without alerting any Shaerwen Elf, and arrived once more at the Mythallar Ruins located to the northeast of Shaerwen.
It was the same spot where he had entered the dead zone before; looking at the familiar scene in front of him, Xia Duo felt that even that unremarkable pebble seemed to be mocking him.
Before entering the dead zone, Xia Duo hesitated slightly; if Xilin's Saint Form Avatar also could not enter the dead zone, then he would be in trouble.
"Sigh—"
With a quiet sigh, he then firmly stepped out with his left leg; Xia Duo had long experienced what it felt like to enter a Magic Net Dead Zone with his true main body on the Main Plane, but this was the first time experiencing it using the Saint Form of an Elf High Mage.
This feeling was very subtle, like a living person being submerged at the bottom of the sea, with invisible pressure constantly squeezing the body, but the most fatal part was not this; it was the suffocation!
Xia Duo was like a drowning person at this moment; the surrounding dead zone was constantly pulling at his avatar, and he felt that even if this avatar could exist in the dead zone, it could not exist for long.
One must know that Xilin's avatar could normally exist permanently, but now, after a slight estimation, he would be unable to maintain this avatar in at most two or three hours.
Additionally, there was a detail most important to a Spellcaster: even though Xia Duo's current avatar had entered, he could not cast Spells, just as a drowning person could not breathe.
"If I were to break out in a final battle with the Elves, perhaps I could consider completely destroying the Magic Net! For an Arcanist to still be able to cast Spells in such a situation would simply be a dimensional strike!"
What am I thinking?! Xia Duo shook his head violently, pulling back his wandering thoughts; he had to hurry now and find the Nether Scroll before the avatar disappeared.
Setting aside the disappearance of the avatar, Xia Duo had considered quite thoroughly how to search for the Nether Scroll within the Magic Net Dead Zone.
Following the predetermined route, Xia Duo used this light Elf body to leap forward rapidly over the building ruins, and in the areas he passed, all building debris vanished entirely, and even the ground sank in by more than half a person's depth.
Truly, three feet high!
