Chapter 2341: The Restorer of Yinerfalang
In the desolate twilight of the mid-air.
Xia Duo gazed into the distance, flying rapidly westward along the location of Yinerfalang in the Main Plane. Having successfully survived the days following the Bloodline Riot, he had become increasingly aware of the extraordinary nature of this Demon Body.
Flight was merely one aspect; what shocked him most was the Precise Teleportation within his range of Perception. This was not like a standard Teleportation Spell; it was entirely a physical instinct.
If ordinary Mages knew of this, they would be envious enough to faint!
One must know that vision is also a form of Perception. In other words, as long as Xia Duo could see a place clearly, he could teleport there directly, and his eyesight—even without the aid of a Far-seeing Spell—was further and clearer than that of his original body.
Therefore, along this journey, Xia Duo flew a segment and teleported a segment, as if dancing in the air. Relying on this Demon Body, he felt an unprecedented sense of freedom.
Although his original body in the Main Plane already possessed the bloodline instinct to ride the clouds and mist, teleportation could not be achieved at will; it required separate Spellcasting, and one had to be cautious while doing so, as a moment of carelessness could lead to a teleportation accident.
As for the Demon Fire of this avatar Demon Body, that was secondary.
Xia Duo did not lack such means of attack, and because it was a passive ability similar to his original body's cloud-riding, it had to be actively controlled to disappear, which was quite inconvenient for daily life.
Aside from the differences in Spellcasting, the constitution and strength of this Demon Body far exceeded his original body in the Main Plane. Of course, since Xia Duo did not care much for the Demon Fire, physical strength was even less worth mentioning.
Although he possessed a superior physique, he had never thought of using a melee style to fight enemies; it was merely a final safeguard in the most hostile survival environments.
……
Soon, Xia Duo discovered traces of intelligent life activity on the dim ground, which was not difficult for him with his night vision.
However, being high in the air, it was still difficult to discern more details. Only after landing on the ground did he realize that these traces of intelligent life activity had long been abandoned.
The ruins of broken stone buildings, dilapidated farmland, and slender, withered bones scattered across the fields all spoke to Xia Duo of the cruelty of war.
"Sigh—"
Xia Duo sighed in his heart but remained unmoved. Since his arrival, these things had become commonplace to him, not to mention that he had witnessed wars between Elves in the Main Plane, which were far bloodier and crueler than this.
After all, what lay before him were remains from an unknown number of years after the war; it was far less shocking than seeing fresh life vanish before his eyes.
However, since he had found traces of civilization, Xia Duo was not prepared to continue this "game." Relying solely on this Demon Body to find the survivors of Yinerfalang would likely keep him busy until tomorrow.
He still had to rely on Scrying and Positioning!
Next, Xia Duo first arrived at the location of Ailintar, the capital of Yinerfalang in later generations. However, at the current time Node, Ailintar was still a scene of ruins.
After performing Scrying, there were no signs of life at all.
But he had already found a clue: an Indication mark left by the survivors of Yinerfalang in the capital. Following the direction of the Indication, Xia Duo continued with Precise Teleportation, and unexpectedly—he found a place where a large number of lives were gathered on the first try.
Then, continuing to teleport, his gaze finally caught a glimpse of a vibrant scene. Of course, the vibrancy here did not just refer to the flourishing natural environment, but more so to the mental state of the Elves below.
After the sudden arrival of Xia Duo, who clearly did not look like a benevolent creature, a leading Elf immediately stepped forward, ordering the other Elves to adopt a defensive and alert posture.
Looking at the dozens of crude bows and arrows aimed at him from below, as well as the few Magic Auras held in check, Xia Duo could not help but feel amused. So this was what the early reconstruction of Yinerfalang looked like!
It was too pathetic; they were no different from a group of refugees.
No, it should be said that they were a group of refugees!
To avoid any misjudgment by either side, Xia Duo hurriedly stated his identity, "I am an Envoy of the Demon Descendant tribe from Evereska. I have no ill intent!"
Although his branch of Demon Descendants had been expelled from Evereska, and he had even fought an Upper Family from Evereska not long ago, for these Yinerfalang survivors who might know nothing of the outside situation, claiming the name of Evereska might bring him some convenience.
Sure enough, after Xia Duo stated his identity, the attitude of the Gold Elf who appeared to be the leader softened significantly, and he shouted upward:
"Evereska? I have heard of it. Is there really such a sanctuary?"
"Yes."
Xia Duo gave an affirmative answer, then descended slightly and asked the other party, "I am going to land on the ground; I hope you will not attack me."
Upon hearing this, the Gold Elf leader waved his hand, and all the bows and arrows were lowered, with only those Magic Auras held in check still persisting.
"Please descend, Envoy, and speak. Yinerfalang is a peace-loving nation, but as you can see, we are currently rebuilding our Homeland. Please forgive our lack of hospitality."
"It is of no consequence."
Xia Duo retracted his Demon Fire and landed on the ground, carefully observing the Gold Elves around him who were vigilant yet feigning composure. The one in the lead was sturdy, with a distinct scar from his brow to his cheek, looking somewhat ferocious.
However, compared to Xia Duo's current Demon Body, that was completely insignificant.
"My name is Maruen. The leader can just call me Maruen."
After Xia Duo introduced himself, the leader here also introduced himself, "My name is Xiluoli. I have abandoned my original name; you can just call me Xiluoli."
Xiluoli?
This was not an unfamiliar name to Xia Duo; it would be no exaggeration to say it was like thunder to his ears. In the Main Plane and the many Projection Planes he had visited, Xiluoli was the restorer of Yinerfalang.
And most importantly—from that generation on, a relatively complete centralized system was established.
Hearing this familiar name, Xia Duo subconsciously looked around and, sure enough, saw four or five Gold Elves who clearly had the air of deputy leaders; they seemed to be the prototype of the Executive Advisory Group.
"Everyone, there is no need to be nervous. I have come here with the purpose of peace and cooperation. I wonder if leader Xiluoli has heard of Demon Descendants?"
"Not only have I heard of them, I have seen them with my own eyes!"
Seeing the look of recollection on Xiluoli's face, Xia Duo understood that the other party was not talking about him, which made him curious, "When and where did you see one?"
"It must have been five years ago. At our previous settlement, a Demon Descendant came from the south, destroyed an orchard, and then died inexplicably. After that, we didn't dare to continue living there and moved here overnight."
So that was it!
Xia Duo knew the reality must be more complex than what the other party said, but he had not come to investigate whether they had killed Demon Descendants. In fact, even if they had, as long as they killed Demon Descendants who had lost their minds, no one would blame them.
