Chapter 2445: The Possibility of Elven Intervention
In a trance, Xia Duo seemed to see the Arcane Plaza of Seventon, the plaza teeming with people, but what caught his attention most was a group of humans sitting in a circle in the center, and—
Elves?!
"Is the Tianshui Plane related to the elves?" Xia Duo thought subconsciously.
But he quickly dismissed this view; the Tianshui Plane should have nothing to do with the elves, but the drastic changes in the domestic situation of Netheril it triggered might not be unrelated to the elves.
Judging from the attire of the elves in the prophetic vision, Xia Duo recognized them as Eaerlann Elves, and from the banners and ribbons hanging on the edge of the Arcane Plaza, it could also be judged that this should be a grand meeting of the Seventon Council.
Eaerlann Elves did indeed possess seats on the Seventon Council, which mainly stemmed from the Seville Covenant; the final Seven Cities Alliance certainly did not have the presence of elves, it was merely an alliance of a few human entities.
But later, with the development of Netheril and the subsequent appearance of elves, especially with Eaerlann Elves appearing in the posture of near-saviors and human mentors, it became different.
In the first formally established Seville Covenant, the figure of (Eaerlann) Elves already appeared; at that time, the elves existed as supervisors of the covenant.
Later, the covenant underwent several changes, and until the Seven Towers were established and Netherese Mages abandoned the Elven Magic path, the words regarding elves in the covenant did not completely disappear.
And the current Seville Covenant is actually the one from after the establishment of the Seven Towers, used for hundreds of years until today; although some supplementary clauses were added later, there were no major changes in total.
Especially the part regarding elves, it is actually because the past Netheril was unwilling to completely tear its face with Eaerlann; in fact, the Princess had already clearly affirmed that part of the content four years ago on behalf of the Seven Towers and the Seventon Council.
It's just that no one expected the world to change so quickly; from the Princess affirming the elves' seats in the Seventon Council, to the establishment of the Northland Alliance, and then to now, it has only been a few years, and Netheril already possesses the capital to confront Eaerlann and even other Elven Kingdoms head-on.
The Mythallar is truly too powerful; the past Netheril could only be said to have barely gained a foothold, but now with the Mythallar, coupled with War Spells, it can be completely said to have firmly stood its ground on this land of the Northland.
Under normal circumstances, Eaerlann would not easily participate in the various topics of the Seventon Council, but what if there were problems within Netheril?
Looking only at the prophetic vision, Xia Duo was undoubtedly very dissatisfied; the problems within Netheril were already complicated enough, why drag Eaerlann into it!
However, he also understood the principle that "the tree wants to be still, but the wind does not cease"; it might not be the Netherese who invited them, but more likely Eaerlann took the initiative to intervene.
But before he could think deeply, the future vision he perceived suddenly shattered, and then reorganized into a new scene—
It was a plain territory; what attracted him most was not the plain scenery in the distance, but the large plaza in the center of this territory in the middle of the vision.
Three huge square portals were shining brightly, and the base maintaining the portals was not unfamiliar to Xia Duo; it was the Davy String Portal Base he was currently using at Azure Manor.
Based on the portal's interference and disturbance to the Magic Net, as well as the blurry images appearing on the mirror surface of the portals, Xia Duo speculated that these three, which were highly likely provided by him, were portals leading to three Other Planes.
In other words, in this future vision, the Netherese from the Tianshui Plane or other Other Planes had already returned to the Main Plane, and seemed to have settled down on the Kangqi Plain or the Kelong Plain!
If this is connected to the previous vision of elves appearing in the Seventon Council, does it portend that as long as the elves intervene, it might lead to such a result?
This is not a bad result; at least from the results seen in this scene, Xia Duo did not have any dissatisfaction.
It's just that although this was a scene obtained from a Prophecy Ritual, it was actually two completely independent acts of prophecy; in other words, there is no necessary causal link between these two scenes.
It is possible that the intervention of the elves led to the smooth return of the Netherese from the Other Planes to the Main Plane, or it could be the opposite; one must first exclude the intervention of the elves to make it possible for the Netherese from the Other Planes to return smoothly.
This is the revelation of the future; even as a prophet, Xia Duo cannot determine which one is the true future, so when making decisions, one needs to pay extra consideration to the factor of elven intervention.
And in fact, it is very likely that elven intervention is not the decisive factor; the decisive factor is very likely something he had never thought of, or a possibility he subconsciously excluded because he thought of the possibility of elven intervention.
"Prophecy, prophecy, it really is torture!"
Not counting those few tentative prophecies in the Chixin Plane, these two prophecies in the Main Plane truly made Xia Duo feel the terror of prophecy spells or abilities.
It is not just the observation of future possibilities, but also the trade-offs after knowing the prophecy.
He finally understood why Kelifu was always unwilling to use Prophecy; besides the consumption of Divine Grace, knowing prophetic information in advance is itself a torment.
If someone were to continuously perform various prophecies for a long time, Xia Duo seriously doubted whether that person would become schizophrenic from the near-infinite possible future information.
Or, because of certain beliefs of their own, they insist that a certain future is inevitable, and thus naturally do some outrageous things.
For example, things like "the Yellow Heaven has died," or the Munich Olympics.
This couldn't help but make Xia Duo associate it with the Illuminati; it is no secret that the Illuminati is proficient in prophecy spells, so is there a possibility that the Demon Descendants of the Illuminati were brainwashed by prophecy spells, taking a certain future possibility as the truth?
And then, for that truth which is actually illusory, they do not hesitate to rewrite the Time Line of the current world.
If that is really the case, then the nature of the Illuminati must be re-evaluated; if the other party only inadvertently awakened the memories of Demon Descendants from a different Time Line, similar to soul transmigration, then they could still be won over or reformed to some extent.
If they came directly from a different Time Line, then they could actually be won over and reformed; with the future development of magic technology, it might not be impossible to create two Time Lines simultaneously.
But if they are local Demon Descendants who made a move of betrayal just because of some revelation from a prophecy spell, then that is truly unforgivable, because they know to a large extent that they are local Demon Descendants of the Main Plane.
It is only because of a lack of acceptance in their beliefs that they chose to betray this world; this is actually closer to the logic that "heretics are more hateful than infidels."
Demon Descendants of a different Time Line are, from the beginning and in essence, in opposition to the current Time Line of the Main Plane, belonging to the contradictions between different Time Lines;
While local Demon Descendants are internal contradictions within the Main Plane; this possibility might directly cause less harm, but in reality, this internal contradiction stemming from belief has endless poison and is more likely to attract Demon Descendants of this plane to join.
One must know that Demon Descendants are not a specific race, but rather one can become a Demon Descendant once they have a Demon Bloodline; this is simply no different from terrorists.
Inadvertently, Xia Duo may have already seen through a certain truth about Demon Descendants.
But regardless of whether the truth is so, the Demon Descendant problem is very thorny, coupled with the internal contradictions of Netheril that may intensify in the near future, Xia Duo felt his head was about to split.
