Chapter 2609: Secret Land Revival, Ancient Elf Appears

Arctic Secret Land.

Outside the Jieti of the Core Area where the palace was located, Xia Duo checked his own state one last time, and after confirming there were no issues, he finally stepped into the range of the Jieti.

Unlike the reaction during his previous probes, Xia Duo had entered completely, yet the Secret Land Mythallar still did not react in the slightest; however, this was only entering the range of the Jieti.

The true test was inside the palace. Xia Duo walked leisurely across the plaza in front of the palace, looking at the bright and clean scene around him that seemed as if yesterday were being reenacted, and he could not even muster the feeling of being in a ruin.

The stronger this feeling was, the better the state of the ancient Elf inside the palace must be. Of course, it was impossible to have been preserved until now without any cost, but compared to his previous estimates, it was more troublesome now.

"Since I've already come this far, I have to go in and take a look no matter what!"

Xia Duo's resolve grew even stronger, and his pace involuntarily quickened. He crossed the plaza and stepped onto the stairs in front of the palace; there was no turning back from this point on.

The expected change appeared: the Secret Land Mythallar began to self-check, and at the same time, various functions based on another part of the physical Permission Level that Xia Duo could not seize began to revive.

"It's been so many years, why not just die in peace? Why must you play this game!"

Xia Duo could not wait to walk, so he immediately took flight and flew toward the palace. There was another Jieti system at the entrance, but Xia Duo on one hand controlled over half of the Secret Land Mythallar's Permission Level, and on the other, he held the War Spell Platform.

He controlled the Mythallar to fully revive, aiming to reduce the energy supply to this area. Of course, this actually did not have much effect, because this palace itself was the core of the core, where a vast tide of Magic Net Strings converged.

As long as the original builders were not stupid, they would have left a dedicated Energy Channel, but Xia Duo still did this, just to increase his winning percentage a little.

He mainly relied on the equipment "Xia Duo's Longing" to use the War Spell 【Wide-Area Prohibition】 to forcibly break into the Jieti range, and then he saw one standing in the main hall of the palace—

Actually, it could not be described as "one"; it should be a massive prismatic Gemstone, connecting to the dome above and extending deep into the ground below. Countless Magic Net Strings flowed in from above the Gemstone prism and then spread out in all directions from the part underground.

At this moment, Xia Duo was glad he had borrowed equipment from Niya. The equipment "Xia Duo's Longing" itself integrated the functions of a Mythallar, capable of independent power supply and linking to Arcane Fire.

Otherwise, he might have already lost his Spellcasting ability at this moment!

Inside this palace, the tide of the Magic Net was surging. Under such circumstances, even a Great Arcanist would find it difficult to cast Spells as freely as usual, and suddenly experiencing this might catch one off guard.

Previously, Xia Duo had never even thought that the Magic Net tide could converge to the point of affecting normal Spellcasting, but it had truly happened. From this, a hypothesis arose: perhaps the normal Magic Net of the Main Plane also underwent various changes.

From active to sluggish, from energy-rich to energy-thin, the Magic Net indeed brought great convenience to Spellcasters, but as a Magic civilization, if one always relied only on the primitive Magic Net, the ability to resist risks would be too poor.

Fortunately, Arcanists had already walked their own path; the Arcane Fire System was sufficient to resist most Magic Net disasters and maintain the normal inheritance of the Magic civilization.

Casting aside distracting thoughts, Xia Duo began to search inside the palace, but after a round of searching, only the Gemstone prism in the center was the most suspicious. It was a pity that the portion of the Mythallar Permission he controlled did not involve the interior of the palace, and he could not even determine where the other part of the physical Permission Level was.

He could only determine from the Mythallar level that such a permission existed. As for where it was, unless he dismantled the Mythallar, it would be impossible to discover it. But if he really were to dismantle the Mythallar, he might trigger the hidden countermeasure effects before he could even act.

Inside the palace.

Xia Duo pondered. Right now, the Secret Land Mythallar had already begun to revive. As time passed, whatever secrets existed here would eventually be revealed, but he could not wait that long.

It was impossible to let the programs set by the original creators run their course; he had to do something!

After much thought, Xia Duo discovered that there was actually only one thing he could do: fully revive the Mythallar. On one hand, this would increase his proportion of Permission Level, and he could even use the Mythallar of this Secret Land to threaten any potential Maintainer; on the other hand, he could use this to extend the revival time of the core palace, so as to buy himself more time to react.

It was a pity that he hadn't even seen a shadow of a Maintainer yet, otherwise he might have directly killed or controlled the opponent.

He guessed that the ancient Elf might have long ago anticipated the scenario of the core palace being invaded; it was just such an empty hall, and inside, apart from the giant prismatic Gemstone in the center, there was nothing else.

Yet, he could not even deal with such a simple scene. For a moment, he really wanted to violently destroy the prismatic Gemstone in the middle. At worst, he would lose one avatar, but he was worried that doing so would cause the Secret Land to lose control, or even cause the Dragon Madness Mythallar outside to "explode" instantly.

Caught between hesitation and fear, he could only adopt a more conservative approach.

As time passed bit by bit, the Secret Land Mythallar gradually revived for the most part; the remaining parts could no longer be revived. The great power of time was manifested vividly at this moment.

As for the core palace, Xia Duo could feel invisible pressure constantly striking him. This included the changes in the Jieti within the palace—after all, he had broken in by force—and also the prismatic Gemstone in the center.

The originally dazzling and brilliant light became even more intense, and even the surging tide of Magic Net Strings converging here produced slight fluctuations. This was no small disturbance.

If the density of the Magic Net Strings in a normal Magic Net was 1, then the density of the Magic Net String tide converging in the core palace was at least ten thousand.

Let alone slight fluctuations, even if there were no fluctuations at all and it was just flowing naturally, it would be a scene of immense momentum in the normal environment of the Main Plane.

Not to mention that it was producing fluctuations now. Xia Duo had a faint premonition in his heart that some unexpected things might be about to happen, or rather, had already happened!

"What on earth is going on?"

Just as Xia Duo was preparing to attempt to investigate by overlapping his Personal Space, the light of the originally dazzling prismatic Gemstone in the center began to fade rapidly. Only then did Xia Duo discover that this was no prismatic Gemstone at all; it was clearly solid energy!

At this moment, this solid energy began to dissipate rapidly. When it had dissipated to a certain degree, Xia Duo was astonished to find that in the middle of the prism was actually an Elf made of light with eyes tightly closed!

"An ancient Elf preserved in Saint Form?"

Under normal circumstances, a physical body is difficult to preserve for so long. Xia Duo had once discovered an ancient ruin in his Territory, which contained many Sarukh Mage-Serpent statues, but later research revealed that those Sarukh Mage-Serpent statues were actually transformed from living organisms, not true statues.

It was also because of that, that Xia Duo accidentally discovered that the Personal Space could devour Souls to expand. Of course, Arcane Energy could too, but for him, who now possessed nearly infinite Arcane Energy, he did not know what use that discovery had for the time being.

Although Xia Duo did not know when the Spell 【Eternal Stasis】 was invented, it was clear that neither the Sarukh Mage-Serpent nor the ancient Elf within Feres Fortress had chosen this method to preserve themselves.
