Chapter 2727: Fish Schools Swimming Upstream, Outdated Names

The reason for requiring about four or five years is mainly considering that after four or five years of development, Linshui Town might need to undergo renovations again, or at least one major maintenance, to conform to the urban construction cycle.

Now that he heard the stability of the Water-Resistant Magic Glue material was as long as seven or eight years, Xia Duo felt even more at ease. However, after leaving the Magic Glue Research Center, he still solemnly instructed Laidun to keep relevant records so that the application of Water-Resistant Magic Glue in domestic water could be tracked at any time.

Just as he was preparing to return to the Tower of Time, the clamorous human voices over at the Elemental Fountain caught his attention. After a brief check, Xia Duo couldn't help but pat his own head, blaming himself for having overlooked that Three-Light Divine Water Pearl which had dissolved into the Elemental Fountain pool yesterday!

He hadn't thought much of it at the time, but only one night had passed, and the Elemental Fountain pool had attracted a large school of fish swimming upstream, packing the small pool completely full.

At this moment, the crowd there was catching fish by the edge of the pool, just as the literal description suggests; as soon as one or two were caught, they were pushed away by the people behind, while those behind were still constantly squeezing forward.

It was currently winter, and a long winter colder than ever before. The meat in the Territory Canteen was mainly salted meat stored before the start of winter for the purpose of making Down Jackets, consisting mostly of chicken, duck, and goose.

Occasionally, when the Territory Guard brought back prey from outside, it was impossible to distribute it among the hundreds of thousands of people in the territory, so since the start of winter, fish had rarely been seen in the Territory Canteen.

The Airship only transported a batch of fish from Maihete Lake in the north every month. Of course, the territory's usual fish consumption was also caught from Maihete Lake; the Wolfburg River flowing past the territory was only used for occasional extra meals for special people.

Xia Duo calculated the time; it hadn't even been half a month since the Airship delivered fish to the territory, yet the Elemental Fountain pool had suddenly been flooded with a pool full of fish, and there were still large schools of fish in the Linshui River to the west waiting to squeeze in.

Under such circumstances, the first resident to discover the anomaly in the pool immediately notified others, and thus a market-like fishing spree was organized in a short time.

That Druid is a traditional profession of the Elves and a domain ruled by the Elven main god is true, but I don't call this Druid, what can you do to me.

……

"Alright."

During the flight, he briefly explained the current situation to the Druid: a residual spell experiment had attracted a large school of fish to swim upstream, and then the residents started fishing.

"Correct."

Xia Duo noticed Jibu on the outer edge of the crowd; the other party was leading his subordinates, the security officers, to maintain order, but it was an ad-hoc organized activity after all, and with so many people, the scene was barely maintaining some order.

But currently, the new Druids in the Xia Ling territory can actually be seen entirely as a specialized branch of Mages in a certain field, for example, the Druid who specializes in the fields of planting and cultivation.

For instance, using natural power to eliminate pests and diseases, or even fertilizing the land.

Instant Spellcasting inevitably carries the risk of accidents; Xia Duo only cast a Levitation Spell on the Druid, then spread the Cloud Qi power generated by 【Cloud-Treading and Mist-Riding】 onto the Druid, and carried the other party flying toward the west.

"Didn't expect it would turn out like this!"

Moreover, the power sources of the two are not the same; the Elven Druids and even the human Druids outside the Great Xia Territory all derive their power from the Elven main god, while the new Druids born in the Great Xia Territory based on the New Natural Philosophy derive their power from the Natural Will.

Of course, the power here refers to 【Natural Holy Power】. Besides Natural Holy Power, the new Druids usually also master the power of Netheril Magic; this point is different from Elven Druids.

So from another perspective, the new Druids of the Great Xia Territory are actually just Mages specialized in the agricultural field who have obtained the additional boost of Natural Holy Power to their field research.

And as far as Xia Duo knows, among the Apprentices brought out by the Druid, there are already over ten who have perceived Natural Holy Power. These ten or so Druid Apprentices do not all like planting and cultivation; some have chosen other fields.

Elven Druids cannot come into contact with Elven Magic, and even in daily life, they avoid contact with magical power, which makes them live mostly on the outskirts of cities or simply in the fields in most cases.

Xia Duo doesn't mind the residents catching fish from the Elemental Fountain pool; what he is more worried about is whether the residents will have any adverse reactions after eating the fish attracted by the Three-Light Divine Water.

Or rather, in the Xia Ling territory, there is no such title as Druid. This is partly to avoid the Apprentices being influenced by the inherent impressions of Elven Druids, and partly to avoid possible risks from the Elven main god.

But what exactly the benefits are still requires professionals to verify; on this point, Druids once again outperformed Mages.

The ancient name of Druid is not suitable for the current new era; what should pass away should be allowed to pass away naturally with time.

Those Druid Apprentices, regardless of whether they have perceived Natural Holy Power, have all received complete basic Magic Education. The New Natural Philosophy does not reject Magic, much less reject the identity of a Mage.

Currently, those in the territory who have obtained Natural Holy Power have only developed the agricultural field. In the future, if they can achieve results in new fields, they can also be called Mages of the corresponding field.

Those schools of fish attracted by the Three-Light Divine Water are not necessarily contaminated; it is more likely they have been benefited, and human consumption will only have benefits and no harm.

And the new Druids born based on the New Natural Philosophy have a 【Nature】 as their power source that clearly includes humans.

Because the judgments of Druids come to a large extent from the Natural Will, often having only results and no process, which is the same path as a Priest asking a god, except that the god is not fully aware of matters not in their own domain.

Therefore, in the actual records of the territory, those Druid Apprentices are actually recorded as Mage Apprentices.

……

From the workshop area of the future Linshui Town to the Elemental Fountain in the west, there is still some distance to go, but the journey is not long enough to require a Teleportation Spell.

In terms of testing the side effects of one or more unknown substances on the human body, Druids are much more professional than Mages. Mages can indeed use Detect Poison, but it is more aimed at the detection of known toxins; for the unknown, there is not much that can be done.

Of course, these are all from the perspective of short-term needs; from a long-term perspective, Mage research is more valuable and more meaningful.

"So, the Lord sent for me because he wants me to check if the fish are contaminated? Whether they can be used normally?"

On the basis of having results, Druids can also delve deeper into research, thereby discovering the process of natural judgment, which for traditional Druids is an unnecessary process.

Thus, he hurriedly called the Druid who hadn't had time to go far, "There's an accident in the west, and I need help checking it out. I'll take you there."
