Chapter 2873: Inside the Illuminati
The first group of consciousness fragments Xia Duo chose to decipher turned out to be a jackpot; it contained a scene of Pafen contacting Yilanshaer in a secret location!
The content they chatted about at the time was related to the Illuminati, and judging from the state of their conversation, if Pafen were not a member of the Illuminati, it would be impossible for him to discuss such secretive content.
As for the content of their chat, it could even be linked to some matters; they were discussing the internal ideological differences within the Illuminati, with some Illuminati members believing that the enemy of Ailan was the rulers of the various Northland nations, who needed to be eliminated one by one.
Another group, however, believed that the enemy of Ailan was no longer a specific, tangible target, but the intangible order gradually taking shape in the Northland; only by overturning the Northland order could the rebirth of Ailan be ushered in.
Both Pafen and Yilanshaer agreed with the latter, which is also the current mainstream ideology of the Illuminati; it can be said that the short-term mission of the Illuminati is to destroy the Northland Alliance.
It is just a pity that compared to the Illuminati, the Northland Alliance is simply too powerful; even though the Illuminati took various actions, they failed to truly destroy the Northland Alliance, and instead made the Northland Alliance even stronger.
While deciphering this group of consciousness fragments, Xia Duo not only experienced the scene of Pafen and Yilanshaer talking, but also experienced some Illuminati missions that Pafen had personally directed through a first-person perspective.
These missions seemed very absurd to Xia Duo; some involved supporting the investment of a certain merchant guild to develop in a certain region, others involved the direct assassination of an unknown Elf, and still others involved going to a certain wilderness to destroy an area.
In short, it is not to say that these actions have nothing to do with the behind-the-scenes mastermind Xia Shao imagined; at the very least, it looks very much like it.
And in Pafen's cognition, they were executing these missions under the leadership of the Wisdom, correcting the future Time Line.
Every member of the Illuminati has a code name, but only the Wisdom uses Wisdom as a code name; other members all use their own true names.
Only the Secret Hall Guardian knows of the existence of the Illuminati; other low-level Demon Descendants are completely unaware, knowing only the resistance persona set up for them by the Illuminati, thinking they are working hard so that Demon Descendants can appear in the Northland in the light.
Therefore, the Illuminati members Xia Duo knows, apart from Yilanshaer, are all just code names and cannot be directly tracked and arrested in Reality based on their names.
"So that's how it is!"
The low-level Demon Descendants are blinded by the Demon Descendant independence dream woven by the Illuminati, while the Apostles are also blinded by the Ailan dream woven by the Wisdom; they are even more miserable than the low-level Demon Descendants—at the very least, the low-level Demon Descendants are only being deceived, while the Apostles have to undergo the so-called Rebirth Ritual, losing even their self-awareness.
The leader of the Illuminati is a Wood Elf known as the "Wisdom," and the other members are mostly Gold Elves, but including the Wisdom, there are only thirteen members in total!
This kind of method is simply terrifying!
Subsequently, Xia Shao continued to decipher Pafen's consciousness slices, and soon he learned the information he wanted most regarding the Illuminati!
The goals of this Illuminati overlap to a certain extent, but if the Demon Descendants knew that the Illuminati's goal was to subvert the Time Line, they probably wouldn't agree either!
Perhaps this further explains that the Illuminati is actually just a tool for that so-called Wisdom, and is not essentially different from the higher-level Mo Yi Midian.
As for the Midian, it is much like what Xia Shao understood before: a sanctuary for Demon Descendant Elves within a certain area, where Demon Descendants can rest assured or conduct certain Magic Energy experiments without worrying about being tracked by the Northland Alliance.
It is no wonder that for so many years, while some Demon Descendants have tried to exchange information for a chance at survival, not a single Apostle has ever betrayed the Illuminati.
Only by eliminating that so-called Wisdom can the Illuminati be truly eliminated.
After all, not all Demon Descendants are converted voluntarily; Xia Shao does not believe there are none who were "forced up Liangshan." If he could divide a group of Demon Descendants, it would definitely deal a huge blow to the Illuminati.
If no one accepts a mission, the Apostles do not mind doing it themselves; in fact, many times, to ensure the mission succeeds or the mission content is not leaked, the Apostles will directly choose to do it themselves.
It is not the rebirth of the Apostles, but the rebirth of an artificially created Ailan Demon Descendant!
Yilanshaer's code name in the Illuminati is "Peiaoweisi," while Aimo's code name is "Peiaoweisi."
From this, Xia Shao thought that perhaps he could issue a warning to the Demon Descendants by exposing the existence of the Illuminati; if he could combine this with the Emo Xuemai Qingchu Shouhu, he might be able to win over a considerable number of Demon Descendants.
Xia Shao could already imagine a Wood Elf who might be born with prophetic abilities, encountering all kinds of injustices in Elf society since childhood, and thus urgently needing a new world that could provide him with fair treatment.
The image does not correspond to reality either, but uses a true form; according to Xia Shao's understanding, it is actually more like loading the consciousness and image of an artificially created Ailan Demon Descendant onto an Apostle, thereby achieving the so-called rebirth effect.
If he could really divide the Demon Descendants, and even go a step further to take down all the Midian, the Illuminati would only have thirteen bare commanders left; in such a situation, could they still subvert the Time Line?
At the very least, it could significantly delay their so-called "rebirth" progress!
"Perhaps I can find the true identity of the 'Wisdom' from the Wood Elf prophets in Elf history!"
……
The person in charge of a Midian is called a "Secret Hall Guardian," which is usually held concurrently by an Illuminati member, though they can also choose a trustworthy high-level Mage among the Demon Descendants to serve in the role.
And so, a behind-the-scenes mastermind who, in the eyes of mainstream society, wants to destroy the world was born!
Pafen, who contacted Aimo and even guided Aimo to join the Illuminati, is a true Apostle who has undergone the Rebirth Ritual; Aimo is still a bit off, as he only passed the probationary period this January and can undergo the Rebirth Ritual.
Because by deciphering Aimo's consciousness, Xia Shao discovered that the source of the Illuminati is that so-called Wisdom; the Wisdom has existed for a long time and has almost never been replaced, while the other Illuminati members have almost all been replaced.
By chance, that Wood Elf foresaw another possibility for Ailan, and then became obsessed, pouring all his energy into wanting to bring that Ailan from the other possibility into the Main Plane.
Mentioning true names, one must mention the Rebirth Ritual of the Illuminati Apostles; only by awakening a true name through the Rebirth Ritual can one be considered a true member of the Illuminati!
The mission mode is that Illuminati members like Aimo—who call themselves "Apostles" to the outside world—receive missions from the Wisdom, then issue them to the several Midian they are responsible for, and then the Secret Hall Members complete them.
Aimo and Pafen are among them.
Xia Shao is not sure if this is the birth process of the Illuminati Wisdom, but the existence of the other party is enough for Xia Shao to tentatively accept the reality of this speculation.
