Chapter 2879: Pafen's Private Semi-Plane
After leaving the Order Force Laboratory where Aiboke was located, Xia Duo sent a message to Laidun, asking him to issue a formal letter of appointment to Aiboke.
The appointment of a Chief Magical Affairs Officer was, of course, not just a casual mention; not a single required procedure would be skipped. After giving these instructions, Xia Duo returned to the laboratory where Pafen's Consciousness Copy was kept to continue analyzing Pafen's consciousness.
The analysis work had progressed to the point where only scattered fragments of consciousness remained. However, each time Pafen's consciousness was shattered, the formation of these fragments could not be stably controlled, so even though only scattered memories remained, the time required might not be much shorter than before.
Of course, this was under the condition that Xia Duo strove to analyze all of Pafen's consciousness information; if he only sought the majority of key information, he had actually already achieved this goal.
In fact, the last bit of scattered memory also contained some very critical parts. Through the portion of memory already analyzed, Xia Duo could already reverse-engineer it to a certain extent and determine what the memory was, but he would only know what it specifically was after it was analyzed.
There were still two parts that had not been obtained. One was the many details of the Time-Involving Ritual, which acted like a source, influencing much of the consciousness information Xia Duo had already deciphered; it needed to be combined with the source to make a final interpretation.
Pafen's understanding of the Time-Involving Ritual was actually quite limited, and he himself could not fully understand it, but it was still much richer than the Ritual Book Xia Duo had obtained from Meitelier.
If he could fully decipher all the details, Xia Duo could provide special training to the time-involving magic researchers of the Northland Alliance through the Spirit Thought Network, thereby accelerating the research speed.
The other part of the information obtained was the connection information for Pafen's Private Semi-Plane. Pafen treated this semi-plane as an important treasure vault and did not use it often.
Most crucially, when Pafen used the semi-plane, he did so with the help of a Magic Artifact, but this Magic Artifact was not carried on his person. That is to say, Xia Duo had not obtained the opening key to Pafen's Private Semi-Plane.
Furthermore, even if the "Nothingness Between" salvage technology were obtained, whether to destroy a native semi-plane was a matter well worth considering. The birth of a plane was itself a miracle of elemental circulation in the Inner Plane, and even a developing semi-plane was no exception.
Another item was, of course, the Plane Crystal. Although Xia Duo had already mastered the technology for artificial Plane Crystals, artificial Plane Crystals were essentially copies and additions to all current Plane Crystals, not the creation of a new one.
Speaking of these alone, they might still be somewhat distant for the current Tower of Time and Great Xia Territory, but the Plane Crystal itself also had practical value: that is, as a Plane Exploration Array Core!
It was just that a Plane Crystal obtained in this way might not necessarily be obtained by a Destroyer, because the destruction method Xia Duo currently used to stably obtain Plane Crystals was achieved through plane collisions; if it were destroyed by other means, it could not be guaranteed that a Plane Crystal would be produced every time.
And the Plane Crystal produced through a plane collision would appear between the Main Plane and the Ether Interlayer, eventually falling back to the Main Plane, appearing in the form of a meteor or a mysterious mineral deposit.
He locked onto that semi-plane at the first opportunity and began to migrate it. Once this process began, the original semi-plane key would become nearly invalid.
Doing this would not only allow him to obtain Pafen's collection but also gain a natural semi-plane. Of course, the most important thing was being able to migrate this semi-plane away, thereby rendering the semi-plane key that was lost outside invalid.
And a Plane Crystal could actually be considered an embodiment of the Plane Root. Through a Plane Crystal, one might not be able to restore its original Normal Plane state, but it could be used to guide Plane Creation and be used to create new Plane Roots.
It could be said that every additional Plane Crystal of a different attribute meant the addition of a high-precision, large-range detector core plug-in for planes of similar attributes.
Xia Duo could currently only slightly influence items in the "Nothingness Between," and even if he could guide them to return to the Main Plane in the form of a meteor, he might not be able to obtain them immediately.
As for the Spell Mizhuan, Xia Duo focused on Netheril Magic, and the Spell Mizhuan of Elven Magic could mostly only be used for reference; their value was far from as high as it was in the Elf World.
The value of any Plane Crystal of a different attribute was immeasurable, let alone the fact that there were at least three in Pafen's collection!
Of course, the native semi-plane itself as a treasure vault was also extremely valuable. Not to mention anything else, at the very least, destroying it could create a unique Plane Crystal.
Although even if others obtained it, they might not be able to open the semi-plane, it ultimately did not rule out that possibility.
There were all sorts of things inside. If one were to rank them by value, those at the top were roughly the property Documents, Spell Mizhuan, War Magic Artifacts, high-grade Gemstones, ordinary Magic Artifacts, and Plane Crystals.
Xia Duo had long discovered that by using different Plane Crystals, the exploration range and exploration precision of the Plane Exploration Array would differ, and one could even conduct targeted searches for planes of similar attributes based on the different attributes of the Plane Crystals.
Miscellaneous items were not worth counting; those might have had great collection significance to Pafen, but to Xia Duo, the significance was not great.
The Main Plane was so large, and one did not know how many people were staring at the sky at every moment; once a meteor appeared, there would likely immediately be countless more competitors.
Two days later, Xia Duo successfully obtained what he wanted, the last bit of value in Pafen's consciousness—the details of the Time-Involving Ritual and the connection information for the Private Semi-Plane.
Except for War Magic Artifacts and Plane Crystals, the two things Xia Duo cared about most, others like Gemstones and Magic Artifacts were, in Xia Duo's eyes, if not worthless, at least on their own, completely unable to pique Xia Duo's desire for discovery.
Among all of Pafen's collections, War Magic Artifacts were one of the two items Xia Duo cared about most.
Destroying such a miracle, from Xia Duo's current perspective, was still somewhat extravagant. Unless it was absolutely necessary, he would not easily make such a choice.
As for what exactly was in Pafen's collection, perhaps Pafen himself could not remember it all, but the memory itself still existed, and Xia Duo had unearthed them one by one.
Therefore, before the "Nothingness Between" salvage technology was realized, Xia Duo was not prepared to destroy any native semi-planes; artificial ones, however, were fine.
So for Xia Duo, wanting to obtain Pafen's collection meant he could only search through the memories of Pafen creating the semi-plane treasure vault to find the connection information for the semi-plane.
It was just a pity that the most valuable property Documents could not be directly inherited. This was like stealing someone's house deed on Earth; it did not mean you had obtained the house, it only meant there was such a possibility.
As long as the migration exceeded a certain limit, the original semi-plane key would become completely useless.
War Magic Artifacts could indeed enrich the variety of Xia Duo's war spells. It could be said that the Magic Artifacts themselves did not have much value, but the new war spells developed through research were extremely valuable.
