Chapter 2912: Ending Ritual, Withdrawing Unscathed

About ten minutes after Xia Duo and his group entered the interior of the Domain Protection, Xia Duo's spirit suddenly jolted; just a moment ago, he had successfully seized control of the ritual from the Demon Descendant Mages.

The ensuing duel entered the second phase, where his side was on the defensive and the Demon Descendants were laying siege!

However, Xia Duo did not synchronize this news to the other Mages in the operation team; he continued to issue spellcasting commands at the same rhythm as before, as if he had not yet seized the ritual's Permission Level.

Unlike the confirmation of the identities of some Demon Descendant Mages, this was a critical stage of the operation; if anyone thought that seizing control of the ritual meant success and let their guard down, it would be troublesome.

Although Xia Duo had the support of a large number of Mages backed by the Spirit Thought Network, that support was more in terms of computational power and inspiration, rather than actual Coordinated Casting.

If it were just him alone, it would be far too difficult to successfully stop the ritual while the Demon Descendants were destroying it without restraint; even if every operation was clear in his mind, it was an almost impossible task.

An old saying from his hometown goes, "Two fists are no match for four hands," and it is the same in the Magic world; unless a Spellcaster has an absolute gap in power, having more people always means greater strength.

This avatar of Xia Duo is quite special, but he estimates that he can at most maintain a stalemate against four to six high-level Mages; of course, this refers to the situation of engaging in a Spell Duel.

If it were a kill without extra conditions, and he could use the Thought Robe, he could easily crush six more of them.

Conversely, once a low-level Spellcaster obtains a War Magic Artifact and has a pile of senior or Elite Spellcasters who cannot retreat from Coordinated Casting, if Xia Shao himself is wearing the Thought Robe, he estimates he would be crushed by a dozen or seventy of them.

……

On the premise of achieving his goal, if he can save himself some trouble, Xia Shao is of course happy to follow the flow, but before stopping the ritual, Xia Shao added a Teleportation Spell to the Mage Sequence.

The only way for them to make Xia Shao's goal fall through is this one; once they abandon the ritual or intervene, Xia Shao can stop the ritual in the blink of an eye.

The Spellcasters currently following Xia Shao into the interior of the Domain Protection, although still executing Mage commands, do not need to think about the reasons for doing so; they just need to execute them mindlessly.

"That is good."

At present, Xia Shao has already obtained control of the Demon Descendant Time-Involving Ritual; in such a situation, the Demon Descendants naturally will not let it go, and except for a few Demon Descendants preparing to flee, the vast majority of Demon Descendants are frantically destroying the ritual.

"Truly spectacular!"

But he still did it, just not wanting to let go of the die-hard elements among these Demon Descendants.

A moment later, news came from the Alliance side—

"At least one more minute; they said if it really won't work, just ensure the ritual is stopped first; there will be plenty of opportunities to catch the Demon Descendants later."

There were 46 Demon Descendant Spellcasters in the Midian; 16 died in the Magic Net riot when the Domain Protection was destroyed, 2 escaped, 12 died in the Alliance siege, and the remaining 16 were all captured alive!

"Consultant Xia Shao, is there something wrong inside the Mo Yi Midian? Why do I feel that the spiritual light over there is somewhat abnormal?" A Spellcaster asked directly beside Xia Shao.

For a time, Xia Shao's heart was also as firm as iron; he completely calmed his mind, presiding over the Spirit Thought Network while issuing Mage commands, not giving the Demon Descendants any chance.

In such a situation, as a senior Spellcaster or high-level Spellcaster, one naturally has enough energy to observe the situation in the outside world, and even retains a certain degree of personal Mage ability.

Very soon, another ten minutes passed, and the offensive and defensive situation between Xia Shao and the Demon Descendant Spellcasters had reached a certain balance, but this was a situation he had deliberately shaped; he knew very well that if those die-hard Demon Descendants wanted to leave, the current him simply could not stop them.

"No need, Consultant Xia Shao has already done enough; if the Alliance cannot even handle this little thing, that would be too much of a failure."

Only continuous destruction can contain Xia Shao.

"Do you need my cooperation to intercept the Demon Descendant Spellcasters?"

That part can only be done by him, but the rest does not require him to take action.

It was said to be at least one minute, but in reality, only about half a minute had passed when the intelligence officer sent a message again, "The Alliance side is ready; Consultant Xia Shao can stop the ritual."

So he had to delay time; while clearly able to stop the ritual at any time, he still had to maintain it; every second that passed increased the difficulty of stopping the ritual, and the overall risk would also increase slightly.

Safely stop the Time-Involving Ritual under the interference of the Demon Descendant Spellcasters.

In other words, at this time, if the Demon Descendants inside the Midian wanted to run, they could completely run away, because Xia Shao did not use the Wide-Area Prohibition to affect the Mo Yi Midian from the beginning, but only provided protection for the members of the operation team.

Perhaps in the future, when machines capable of automatic Mage work are invented, such situations will not require Spellcasters to take action personally; one would only need to set the Mage program, or even have the machine automatically complete it according to pre-set plans.

And to achieve this, at the very least, a general-purpose Magic Computer is needed, not just the Double-string 5th-ring Calculator that Xia Shao has made now.

"Karier, how much longer does the Alliance need?"

"Tell them to hurry; I will maintain it as much as possible, but if I cannot maintain it, I will stop the ritual first; for now, it is still under my control."

War Magic Artifacts, or rather War Spells, possess such decisive power.

"Hmm, it's done, we can leave."

He had said before that he would bring the members of the operation team out safely, and now he had to fulfill it.

However, considering that the Demon Descendant Spellcasters must have used a specialized Secret Ritual Chamber to conduct the ritual, his little gift might not have any substantial effect.

The Demon Descendants who were still destroying the ritual now, in Xia Shao's view, were completely die-hard elements among the Demon Descendants, the mortal enemies of the living beings of the Main Plane, and unforgivable ones who could not be converted at all!

At the same time, the Teleportation Spell on the operation team's side was also successfully completed; with a flash of spiritual light, Xia Shao and his group reappeared outside the Domain Protection, next to the Dong Qing Xiao Dui.

It is just that War Spells are not omnipotent; they can easily defeat enemies, but they may not be able to complete certain specific goals, just like what Xia Shao is facing now—

Even though they were a distance away, the moment the Domain Protection was destroyed, Xia Shao and his group could still feel a very strong Magic Net tremor at their location.

Xia Shao's expression remained as usual, though many Elves were stealing glances at the cluster of starlight wrapped around Xia Shao's right hand, their eyes occasionally revealing looks of wariness.

"Eh? Consultant Xia Shao, isn't this a Teleportation Spell? Has the operation ended?"

But so what? It was a matter of convenience, and it could add some trouble to the enemy; why not do it!

Subsequently, following the plan discussed with the Alliance, Xia Shao used a large amount of Annihilation Light to shatter the Demon Descendants' Domain Protection in one blow; if the Alliance had done this, the Demon Descendants inside would probably have slipped away long ago.

……

Saying this, Xia Shao stopped the Time-Involving Ritual he had been maintaining with difficulty, and even took the opportunity to send a little gift to the Demon Descendant Spellcasters in the Midian using the aftermath of the ritual's cessation.
