Chapter 2916: Tracing History, New Experiments

To demonstrate the effect of the Translation Device, Xia Duo would keep the Translation Device on for the first half of the experience and turn it off for the second half; only by switching it on and off like this could a more intuitive comparison be made.

Currently, these councilors of the Seventon Council were connected to the Spirit Thought Network over in Evereska by forming a temporary independent network and then utilizing Xia Duo's Permission Level.

There were at least three existing Spirit Thought Networks over there that Xia Duo knew of: one belonged to the Time-Related Magic Research Laboratory, and the other two were composed of Elf Mages who had been temporarily assembled but not yet disbanded, one of which was the action team that had handled the Demon Descendant signal not long ago.

The network Xia Duo linked these councilors to was the large network of temporarily conscripted Elf Mages, which was notable for its large number of people and high quality; in terms of actual usage effect, it was not necessarily inferior to that of the Time-Related Magic Research Laboratory.

"Are you all connected? We are currently in the state with the Translation Device. If there are no other issues, I am going to prepare to rest. At midnight tonight, I will turn off the Translation Device so everyone can have a comparison."

Resting was, of course, just an excuse; it actually meant ending the meeting. Badijiaer had just connected to the Spirit Thought Network and was preparing to have a good experience, so upon hearing Xia Duo say this, he immediately decided to adjourn the meeting, and the others naturally had no objections.

Subsequently, Xia Duo turned off the Remote Conference System and came to the Order Force Laboratory on the Floating City, where Aiboke was already waiting for him.

Xia Duo first glanced at the pile of wood chips scattered in the experimental area, then looked at Aiboke and asked, "How is it? Is the data still abnormal?"

The equipment in the laboratory was complete. Xia Duo and Aiboke acted separately to test the elemental content of the coins used in the experiment. After about an hour, the two gathered again to share their respective test results——

Although Xia Duo's words seemed to be asking Aiboke, he actually knew that Aiboke's operations were very standardized when conducting experiments; unless it was a specific interference experiment, he would absolutely not let the experimental subjects be subjected to accidental interference.

Xia Duo rubbed the surface of the Gold Coin with his finger, added a mark to it, and threw it back into the pile of coins, but he could not yet deal with the problem Aiboke raised.

As he spoke, Aiboke picked up the Gold Coin that Xia Duo had just re-marked, then picked out the other coins whose marks had failed and placed them on the other side of the original pile of coins.

But in Xia Duo's view, this problem should not exist at all. He could not figure out why marks that should have been able to exist for a long time were failing so quickly.

For a meticulous person, almost every coin could be found to have differences from the others, but since they had already been divided into two piles based on whether the marks had failed, it meant that both piles had certain commonalities.

Xia Duo decided to check in detail, starting with the material. The Ming Shui Chamber of Commerce had unified regulations for currency specifications; both Gold Coins and Silver Coins were made of gold-silver alloys, just with different gold-silver ratios.

"The gold-silver ratio of the Gold Coins I detected is about 9 to 1, and the gold-silver ratio of the Silver Coins is 5 to 95. There are slight differences in the ratios between coins of the same type, but they are basically like this. The Ming Shui Chamber of Commerce is very rigorous in terms of quality control; this difference should be caused by wear and tear during circulation, or it could be impurities in the material itself."

But at this moment in Xia Duo's eyes, this Gold Coin stood out like a crane in a flock of chickens, appearing exceptionally prominent among the pile of coins because it had no Order Force mark.

Xia Duo walked over and picked up a Gold Coin to observe it closely. This Gold Coin was the same as the other coins: the obverse was a relief of Zhenna's profile, the reverse was the emblem of the Ming Shui Chamber of Commerce, and the edge had the edge teeth that Xia Duo had previously suggested for anti-counterfeiting or to prevent private cutting.

Copper coins contained no gold or silver, but because copper coins were almost never used in the Great Xia Territory, Xia Duo's experiments here did not use copper coins, only Gold Coins and Silver Coins.

"Most of the physical currency is fine for now, but a small portion of the marks have failed."

It couldn't be such a nonsensical reason, could it?

Saying this, Aiboke took a white cloth bag from the storage compartment on the side of the laboratory bench, then held the bottom of the bag and poured a pile of gold and silver currency onto the laboratory bench.

Xia Duo came to the two piles of coins and scanned them back and forth. At first glance, there was indeed no discernible difference; they were all Ming Shui currency of the same specification, and all had varying degrees of signs of use.

And Aiboke's next words confirmed this: "The Magic Net environment was recorded throughout. These coins were not subjected to any unplanned Arcane Magic interference. I think it is possible that the material or production method of these coins is different."

The latter, Aiboke had just said, would cause data errors as soon as the number of transfers increased, but the former was essentially a spell mark developed based on Order Force, which in theory could be retained for a long time.

The Order Force marks developed so far were divided into two categories: one was the halo on physical currency, and the other was the balance number displayed on the Identity Card.

"Then how about the physical currency? Is the mark stable?" Xia Duo ignored Aiboke's grumbling and asked again, "This shouldn't be abnormal too, right?"

Xia Duo carefully checked Aiboke's test records and did not find any essential difference from his own, but in that case, the material was unlikely to be the reason for the failure of the Order Force marks.

Unlike other Gold Coins that had a circle of visible glowing textures on the edges of the obverse and reverse, this Gold Coin had nothing. This was the situation of mark failure that Aiboke had just mentioned.

Even so, mark failure still occurred frequently. Once put into use, there would likely be even more problems.

And the ones Aiboke took out at the moment were the ones they often used in their experiments these days, which meant that the marks on these coins had been there for at most no more than a month, and the short ones might only be two or three days.

"Yeah, as long as the number of transfers is high, there will be abnormalities. I've been thinking about this problem for the past two days until my hair turned white!" Aiboke complained.

Aiboke casually put forward a seemingly nonsensical guess. Xia Duo just wanted to refute it, but then felt that he shouldn't be so arbitrary. The research on Order Force had just started, and no possibility should be ignored.

Perhaps the truth was hidden in those seemingly inconspicuous details!

In fact, this was also within his expectations. The Ming Shui Chamber of Commerce issued new currency with unified specifications for Zhenna to establish the Ascension Order; even at the cost of expense, they would ensure the specifications were unified.

"No, but it's not too late to record it now."

Order Force was different from Arcane Magic; the internal operating mechanism was mostly concentrated on the side of the Order Lord. Even though he had already obtained authorization, it was still separated by many layers when actually processing it.

"Did you record the Magic Net environment? Is it because of Arcane Magic interference?"

So Xia Duo asked again: "Were there records made for the coins whose marks failed previously?"

Then what about the production method?

"My results are the same as yours."

The retention time of the retained marks could not be determined for the time being, but it was almost certain that the failed ones all had problems.
