Chapter 1013

At a critical moment, the black wolf's will to survive and its high realm saved its life.

However, the aftermath of that blade had already scorched half of the black wolf's body; its right hind leg was also grazed by the aftermath, hurting so much it dared not touch the ground.

It looked at Ye Liuyun, fearfully hiding in a corner, just like the female slave had done initially, trembling while taking a defensive stance.

Seeing this, Ye Liuyun wanted to sheath his blade.

He thought the black wolf was already defeated, so there was no need to kill it.

But the Steward Elder spoke up to remind Ye Liuyun: 'You two can only have one walk off the stage alive. If you don't kill this black wolf, you cannot take the female slave away.'

Ye Liuyun felt helpless and could only gather his strength again, but the black wolf was obviously more familiar with the rules than he was.

It also realized that the reason it felt fearful just now and couldn't fully mobilize its True Essence was due to the suppression of Ye Liuyun's blade intent.

When Ye Liuyun's blade intent eased just now, he immediately seized the chance to recover from his injuries, a fierce light flashing in his eyes as he prepared to strike first.

Seeing this, Ye Liuyun, without waiting for his blade intent to fully release, instantly slashed out a blow, using Spatial Power to directly cut into the black wolf's body.

Although the black wolf suffered a sudden attack, its reaction was also swift; it immediately used Spatial Power to resist.

But Ye Liuyun's attack was too fast, still leaving a gash on its back; a blade of golden light sliced out from its back.

If someone had a higher realm or possessed Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil, they would also see that within that golden light were intertwined strands of dark qi.

That was because Ye Liuyun, while attacking, activated a poison source, sending out a wisp of poisonous gas along with the strike.

The black wolf shook its head, realizing its injury was not serious—just a gash on its back.

Its fear of Ye Liuyun in its heart also diminished greatly. Immediately it kicked with its hind legs and lunged at Ye Liuyun again.

Ye Liuyun did not dodge this time, but directly used Spatial Power to fix the black wolf in midair.

At the same time he launched a Spiritual Soul Attack to pull the black wolf's soul.

Ye Liuyun's Divine Soul Power and Spatial Power were both far stronger than the black wolf's.

Moreover, the black wolf suddenly felt an unbearable numbness and itching inside its body, and the circulation of its True Essence became unsmooth.

Only then did it realize that the previous strike had contained poison.

Thus the black wolf had almost no room to resist, and its soul was pulled away and absorbed by Ye Liuyun.

If Ye Liuyun hadn't wanted to demonstrate sword intent to the female slave, he might have launched a Spiritual Soul Attack right away.

"Bang!"

The black wolf's massive body fell from the air onto the arena.

Seeing that, the female slave finally showed a relieved expression.

Around the arena, a chorus of boos and curses erupted, with many people expressing their dissatisfaction with Ye Liuyun.

Some even threatened to take revenge on Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun also paid no heed to the audience's shouts and curses, but instead asked the Steward Elder, "Is this enough?"

The Elder nodded and confirmed, "That female slave is yours!"

He also couldn't understand why Ye Liuyun would offend so many spectators just for a female slave.

But that had nothing to do with him; he was simply following the rules.

The steward earlier also came running over, grabbed an iron chain around the female servant's neck, and led her to Ye Liuyun's front, as if leading a dog.

The female servant did not resist, but obediently followed along. There was even a hint of anticipation in her eyes.

"Take off this chain!" Ye Liuyun said, disliking the chain intensely and feeling it was wrong to mistreat the female slave that way.

"You should first sign a Divine Soul Contract! This female slave has cultivation, lest she turn on her master!" the steward reminded.

"All right!" Ye Liuyun said, since he didn't know the female slave's character and thought it better to be safe.

Thus he and the female servant signed a Master-Servant Contract, after which the steward removed the chain from her neck and then led the way ahead.

"From now on you will follow me!" Ye Liuyun told the female servant.

The female servant immediately nodded, then pointed to the black wolf on the arena and said with effort, "What the master wins can be taken away!"

Ye Liuyun actually didn't know one could take the corpse away, and he said somewhat regretfully, "No thanks. The wolf's corpse is poisonous!"

At this moment, the black wolf's corpse began to emit black smoke; its formerly plump body gradually withered away, leaving only a skeleton and hide.

The female slave glanced fearfully at the wolf's corpse, then followed behind Ye Liuyun with her head lowered, as if worried he might also poison her.

After Ye Liuyun brought her back, she too hid nervously to the side, afraid to speak and not knowing how to serve.

"Why did you rescue her?" Xia Tianqiong finally got a chance to ask.

Ye Liuyun sent her a mental transmission: "I'll tell you later. This woman is somewhat special!"

Hearing that, Xia Tianqiong nodded and also relaxed.

"It seems she indeed has a special reason!"

Since it was not convenient to speak now, she did not ask further but turned her attention to the battle in the arena.

In the following matches, several spectators also went up to challenge the ferocious beasts.

The challenger's cultivation must be two levels lower than that of the ferocious beast.

The first two people defeated the ferocious beasts and received rich rewards, but the last person was rather unlucky upon going on stage, encountering a ferocious beast with a special True Essence, and ended up becoming the beast's meal.

After a while, with no one else stepping onto the stage, the beast arena directly opened its final segment: the sale of ferocious beasts.

Each time the beast arena brings out twenty ferocious beasts for everyone to choose from, each beast having a set price, and whoever bids first gets it.

The tickets that Ye Liuyun and his companions bought grant them priority purchasing rights.

So Ye Liuyun also seized the opportunity, each time using his Golden Pupil to observe in advance and pick out the strongest few from a batch of ferocious beasts.

After several rounds, Ye Liuyun had already paid out over twenty million top-grade Spirit Stones.

Even the steward behind Ye Liuyun had not expected it; he hadn't realized Ye Liuyun was so wealthy.

"Why are you buying so many ferocious beasts?" Xia Tianqiong initially thought Ye Liuyun was buying them for her, but upon seeing him continue to purchase, she asked.

"For the army!" Ye Liuyun replied with a simple mental transmission, while continuing to purchase.

The spectators watching the ferocious beasts continuously sent to Ye Liuyun were also shocked.

"This kid is still a local tycoon!" Immediately some people had designs on Ye Liuyun.

But as the ferocious beasts purchased by Ye Liuyun reached over fifty, and the expenditure had already exceeded a hundred million, these people also gave up.

They now cannot afford to provoke Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun now has over fifty ferocious beasts, all at the mid-to-late stage of the Zao Hua Realm. Even ordinary Venerable Stage cultivators dare not rob Ye Liuyun.
