Chapter 1474: Heavenly Sovereign Corpse Demon

The Curse Tribe's settlement wasn't far from Death Valley; after three days aboard a Flying Boat they arrived at the outskirts of Death Valley.

Even just the outskirts of Death Valley were eerily silent, with no living creatures at all; even the vegetation was withered.

Aya brightened at his words, "Yes, our people think so too, though many Martial Cultivators don't understand!"

Ye Liuyun chuckled, released the chameleon, and instructed it, "Follow the route I gave you and scout ahead!"

The chameleon, upon emerging, instantly changed its color and darted along the ground at speed.

Aya's mouth fell open in amazement.

"What kind of monster is this? It can change color to become invisible!" Aya had never seen a chameleon before.

"Chameleon!" Ye Liuyun told Aya.

"When we get back, could you give me some of this chameleon's blood? I need it to draw talismans!" Aya asked Ye Liuyun.

The Curse Tribe crafts talismans; to obtain a certain attribute they need blood possessing that attribute.

"Alright!" Ye Liuyun also agreed.

Afterwards, Ye Liuyun led the group deeper into Death Valley.

Death Valley, nestled among towering mountains, should have been a paradise isolated from the world.

But now the valley mirrors the outside, with dead trees everywhere, silent as a graveyard.

The atmosphere inside also feels repulsive.

"There must be many Corpse Demons in here; stay alert!" Ye Liuyun said as he entered, sensing the Corpse Demon's aura.

His words were cut off by a Corpse Demon's howl!

"Damn, the chameleon has been spotted!"

Ye Liuyun shouted and hurried the group forward.

His Divine Sense also detected a Ninth‑Tier Heavenly Sovereign Corpse Demon charging toward the chameleon's location.

The distance was too great for Ye Liuyun to use Space Translocation. Before they could arrive, the Corpse Demon tore the chameleon in half and began devouring it.

The Corpse Demon ate while eyeing Ye Liuyun and the others.

"Guo Da, Formation!" Ye Liuyun ordered Guo Da to set up a Defense Array.

The Corpse Demon roared again, clutching half of the chameleon's corpse, and charged at Ye Liuyun's party.

Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil flashed as he unleashed distant lightning strikes to hinder the Corpse Demon's speed.

Guo Da completed the Formation, and the group took shelter within it.

Aya didn't enter the Formation right away; instead she produced two talismans and tossed them at the Corpse Demon.

Guided by True Essence, the two talismans flew straight toward the Corpse Demon. Upon reaching it, the True Essence dispersed, one talisman unleashing lightning and the other fire.

The talismans' attacks proved more effective than Ye Liuyun's.

Ye Liuyun's attacks, though of Purple Lightning grade, were released in limited quantity each time.

But the talismans had amassed large amounts of lightning and flame, releasing them together and causing the Corpse Demon to howl.

Ye Liuyun flashed, used Spatial Power to shift beside the Corpse Demon, and swung his Demon Slaying Sword, the strike imbued with Buddha Light Power.

Although the Corpse Demon was hit by lightning and fire, its injuries were minor; after all, Aya's cultivation level is low, so the talismans' power is limited.

The moment Ye Liuyun's blade descended, the Corpse Demon also struck, punching toward Ye Liuyun.

At the same time he was knocked back, his sword severed the Corpse Demon's head.

"Ah!" Aya gasped, stunned for a moment, then rushed toward Ye Liuyun upon seeing the Corpse Demon dead.

"No, that's not what I meant!" Aya stammered.

Ye Liuyun smiled again, ignored her surprise, turned, and fetched the other half of the chameleon's corpse for Aya.

"All yours! The other half was bitten by the Corpse Demon, can't use it!"

Ye Liuyun also worried that half of the corpse would be infected by the Corpse Demon, so he burned it with a single fire, together with the Corpse Demon's corpse.

"As soon as we came up, it's a ninth-level Tianzun Realm Corpse Demon?" Meng Zhangxing complained.

"What a pity, an eighth-level Tianzun Realm chameleon!" Guo Da also felt regret for Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun certainly felt heartache as well.
