Chapter 154: Luring the Killing Squad to Annihilation

The commotion of the battle here alerted other Blood Demon Sect disciples, but when they arrived they only found a field of corpses.

Seeing this carnage, they dared not be careless; the original two squads merged into one and continued the pursuit deeper into the forest.

For the next day, Ye Liuyun and Lei Ming wandered aimlessly in the woods, using their superior footwork to evade the Blood Demon Sect's chase.

Feeling safe, they stopped to cultivate with a Spirit Stone; when they resumed running they took a Healing Elixir to replenish True Essence.

This strategy of draining True Essence proved surprisingly effective; Ye Liuyun quickly increased his liquid True Essence by ten percent.

After they recovered, they set their sights on another squad, but now each Blood Demon Sect team had doubled in number.

Ye Liuyun wielded a knife in one hand and a fist in the other, used Divine Sense to control the Mountain‑Stamp Seal, and simultaneously launched a Soul Sword attack, exhausting all techniques before wiping out that group.

But even so, he and Lei Ming were covered in wounds. He has an Immortal Overlord Body, so he never suffers serious injuries, recovers quickly, and in the blink of an eye is as good as new.

Lei Ming could not; even after she transformed into her Monster Beast form, with thick hide and flesh, she still sustained considerable injuries.

Ye Liuyun placed her back into a Storage Ring, had her take a Healing Elixir to recover, while he continued to hide and restore True Essence.

After recovering, he rushed out to fight again, battling until his True Essence was exhausted, then immediately fled, using his footwork to shake off pursuers. Generally, after two or three round trips he could annihilate a squad.

After several days, fifty percent of his liquid True Essence had been converted, with striking results. Repeated life‑or‑death battles and chases rapidly elevated his cultivation.

But the Blood Demon Sect was no fool; they soon sent a Sea Transformation Fourth Rank disciple to lead a team and encircle Ye Liuyun.

Sea Transformation Fourth Rank already belongs to the mid‑stage of the Sea Transformation Realm. In the Sea Transformation Realm, each ascent doubles one's power dramatically.

If Ye Liuyun were at Sea Transformation First Rank, he might still dare to strike, but now he lacks that strength. Especially when outnumbered, once surrounded, escaping becomes difficult.

So for the remaining time, he focused on guerrilla attacks against a single squad. He avoided confronting Sea Transformation Third and Fourth Rank disciples, instead using the Blazing Sun Bow to shoot those of lower realms. When close enough, he employed the Illusion Pupil's Thunder Fire to annihilate them. After two days, that squad was reduced by Ye Liuyun to only the strong practitioners of the Sea Transformation Realm.

Thus, for a while, the Blood Demon Sect truly had no way to deal with him.

Then, Ye Liuyun sheathed the Blazing Sun Bow and began a sneak attack. He first struck with Divine Sense, then killed a Sea Transformation First and Second Rank disciple with a single slash, and regardless of the outcome fled immediately.

The Sea Transformation Fourth Rank disciple leading the team was driven mad by Ye Liuyun! This time he was no longer cautious, relentlessly pursuing Ye Liuyun, even as he left the rest of his team far behind, still clinging to Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun fully activated his Lingkong Art; even Sea Transformation Third Rank Martial Cultivators couldn't keep up. Moreover, with half his True Essence already converted to liquid, he could briefly soar through the air. Thus the others were quickly left behind.

Only that Sea Transformation Fourth Rank strongman could barely keep pace. Ye Liuyun saw a rare chance and wanted to test him in combat; otherwise he wouldn't have been chased.

After running for a while, Ye Liuyun suddenly stopped.

"You brat, you should be running! Why did you stop?" The Blood Demon Sect disciple chasing him was a man in his late thirties.

Ye Liuyun had evaded him several times; the pursuer concluded that Ye Liuyun wouldn't dare face him, which gave him the confidence to catch up. Moreover, after observing Ye Liuyun's aura repeatedly, he was certain he was at the half‑step Sea Transformation Realm.

He thought to himself that Ye Liuyun's strength was average, merely cunning and resourceful.

"I don't run because I intend to kill you!" Before the words could finish, Ye Liuyun preemptively launched a Spiritual Soul Attack. If he waited for the opponent's counterattack, he might get injured in an instant.

Fifty Soul Swords instantly surged into the opponent's Sea of Consciousness.

The opponent's Soul laughed indifferently: "Kid, you're courting death. I'm a Third‑rank Soul Master; dare to use a Spiritual Soul Attack on me, just watch me annihilate you!"

But before he could finish speaking, Ye Liuyun's Soul Swords had already formed a sword formation, attacking his Soul.

At that moment, the power emitted by the sword formation made his entire Soul tremble. Fifty swords launched together, producing a sharp whine in his Sea of Consciousness, and his Soul was instantly pierced like a sieve!

The power of Thunder Fire continuously scorched his Soul, seemingly about to erase it. Ye Liuyun immediately recalled all the Soul Swords.

"Ah!" the man cried miserably. "I won't accept this!"

While speaking, he ignited his True Essence, resorting to a self‑destruct!

With a booming crash, the explosion hurled Ye Liuyun more than three zhang away.

Fortunately, Ye Liuyun's Immortal Overlord Body remained intact, though his exterior was left a mess.

"That's truly ruthless—self‑destruct! What will I do if I encounter this move again?" Ye Liuyun used Divine Sense to locate the man's Storage Ring, pondered, then employed Lingkong Art to turn and strike the rest of the squad.

With no Sea Transformation Fourth Rank strongman holding the line, Ye Liuyun had nothing left to worry about. Moreover, the trailing teams had just scattered and not reassembled, and Ye Liuyun eliminated them one by one.

"Two more squads remain!" Ye Liuyun scanned the two incoming squads with Divine Sense and kept a safe distance.

The other two squads, upon arriving at the self‑destruct site, were secretly shocked.

They all knew the self‑destructing disciple; being forced to such extremes showed the opponent was formidable. After a brief discussion, the two squads merged again to hunt Ye Liuyun.

Now they dared not split up, fearing their strength would be diluted.

Ye Liuyun, upon seeing this, frowned inwardly; with so many foes, he couldn't handle them alone!

He had just exhausted his True Essence again; after replenishing, sixty percent of his internal Qi Sea had been converted to liquid True Essence, enough to defeat only one Sea Transformation Fourth Rank Martial Cultivator. If two attacked him simultaneously, it would be dangerous.

"I must first sneak attack one, then fight the other."

Ye Liuyun made up his mind, deciding to first ambush a Sea Transformation Fourth Rank strongman.

He first approached the team, then fully activated Lingkong Art, flashing to a Sea Transformation Fourth Rank nearby and unleashing a Divine Sense sword formation against it. He then immediately delivered a Thunder‑Fire punch through the air toward another Sea Transformation Fourth Rank Martial Cultivator.

"Boom—" a massive blast, the True Essence shockwave scattered in all directions.

The Sea Transformation Fourth Rank strongman only sustained minor injuries, unharmed overall. However, the one ambushed by Ye Liuyun's Soul Swords died on the spot; his Soul was annihilated, and his Physical Body was shattered by the True Essence shockwave.

The Sea Transformation strongman opposite Ye Liuyun, upon seeing this, without a word chose to flee.

This gave Ye Liuyun the opening; he brandished his blade and began a ruthless slaughter. The two Sea Transformation Third Rank disciples, seeing the Fourth Rank disciple flee, also turned and escaped.

Ye Liuyun didn't pursue them. That punch had already consumed sixty percent of his True Essence, making even dealing with Sea Transformation Third Rank a strain. Better to first eliminate these small fry before going after the big fish.
