Chapter 1638: Help with a Fight

Ye Liuyun had been quietly cultivating for so long that even he found it strange.

"Huh? So much time has passed and nothing's happened! Could this be the benefit of the strong?"

After such a prolonged period of peace, he now feels a bit unaccustomed. He feels he's been living too comfortably.

That day, a sudden shout from outside called Ye Liuyun out of the Xuan Kong Shi.

"Ye Liuyun, come out and welcome this old man!"

From the voice alone, it was clear the speaker was a Tianzun Realm strongman!

What puzzled Ye Liuyun most was that Yi Cheng's garrison gave no warning, and even the Grand Hall's guards were silent.

When Ye Liuyun rushed out and saw the person, he also began to laugh.

"Ha ha, why did you run back, and look like this?"

The newcomer wore a shabby Daoist robe; Ye Liuyun didn't even need to see his face to know it was Qiong Qi back. Wu Qingcheng was chatting with Qiong Qi in the Grand Hall, so it was no wonder no one warned.

But Qiong Qi's hair was missing a large chunk, and his robe was even more tattered, as if fire had burned several big holes, making him look rather disheveled.

"You kid, if you want to laugh, go ahead! I capsized in a gutter, came to ask you for help fighting!" Qiong Qi, upon seeing Ye Liuyun, didn't hold back and said it outright.

Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil glanced at his realm and retorted, "You're already at the eighth tier of the Tianzun Realm; for people you can't handle, what could I possibly do?"

"I'm not one pair of fists against four hands! You have many subordinates; bring a group with me to take revenge!" Qiong Qi explained.

"What's going on? Tell me! Where have you been all these years?"

Ye Liuyun immediately took Qiong Qi and Wu Qingcheng, grilled some meat to treat him, and listened as he recounted the events.

He knew Qiong Qi wasn't seeking him out for revenge. It must be that the Secret Realm held resources Qiong Qi was interested in, and he was determined to obtain them.

"Don't mention it. I've been so frustrated! After leaving you, I entered a Secret Realm and got trapped by a bunch of Fire Spirits for years! Fortunately, using Formation, I kept wearing them down and finally found a chance to escape!" Qiong Qi told Ye Liuyun.

"Huh? You've been trapped for years? How did your realm improve?" Ye Liuyun asked, puzzled.

"Who says being trapped prevents cultivation? If I hadn't cultivated to my current realm, I couldn't have gotten out!" Qiong Qi was on the verge of tears.

"What kind of Secret Realm kept you trapped so long?" Ye Liuyun asked.

A Secret Realm capable of trapping Qiong Qi couldn't be simple. Ye Liuyun dared not rush in with Qiong Qi; preparations were necessary.

"It's a Secret Realm dominated by fire elements, filled with Fire Spirits. Many of them are of high realms! When I first entered, they all hid. After I delved deeper, they trapped me."

Relying on Formation, I cultivated while inching toward the realm's entrance, and finally escaped.

"But I think I was tricked! Those Fire Spirits originally didn't know the entrance, now they do. If you don't act quickly, they might organize and set fire to the Zhongyang Dalu!" Qiong Qi told Ye Liuyun.

"What? They can exit that Secret Realm!" Ye Liuyun was startled.

If Fire Spirits that even Qiong Qi can't handle are let in, the entire Zhongyang Dalu will be in trouble!

Qiong Qi waved his hand, telling Ye Liuyun not to be so nervous: "They can exit; the Secret Realm has no real restrictions, they just hadn't found the exit! But you needn't worry; trust me. I set up a sealing Formation at the entrance, so they can't get out for a while!"

"How long can your Formation hold?" Ye Liuyun asked finally.

"At most a month!" Qiong Qi estimated.

Ye Liuyun calculated again: "Subtracting travel time, we still have nearly twenty days to prepare!"

"Pretty much!" Qiong Qi confirmed.

"How much power do you have now that's suitable to bring?" Qiong Qi asked again.

Ye Liuyun also detailed to Qiong Qi the cultivation techniques of the people and Monster Beasts around him.

Finally they selected the party for the Secret Realm, taking Man Shu, Wu Qingcheng, Yu Er, Ye Tiandao, Lei Ming, Long Nv, Xiao Lan Bing, Xuan Wu, Flame Lion, and Huo Wu.

After finalizing the selections, Ye Liuyun assigned tasks to Qiong Qi: "Since you have free time these days, help me forge two more Formation Flags and also craft some armor."

Ye Liuyun took out Giant Lizard Scale Armor, handed it to Qiong Qi, and gave him some refining materials.

"Both sets of Formation Flags are used up?" Qiong Qi hadn't expected that; he had forged a Formation Flag for Ye Liuyun and one for his clone, and both were discarded. Clearly Ye Liuyun hadn't been short of battles lately.

"How's the Underworld God matter?" Qiong Qi recalled the Underworld God issue.

"Finished it!" Ye Liuyun replied outright.

"Hmm! You kid didn't embarrass me. Fine, I'll go forge things for you; you gather the people and get ready! By the way, give me that Skeleton Puppet; I'll upgrade it. My refining skill has improved a lot now," Qiong Qi boasted.

Ye Liuyun smiled: "Alright then. I have plenty of puppets here; you can take them all for upgrades!"

He then released the Skeleton Puppet, ten Stone Puppets, and over a hundred Metal Puppets, handing them to Qiong Qi.

"You kid, you're ruthless! I asked you for help fighting, and you give me this many tasks? There's not enough time!" Qiong Qi, seeing the many puppets to upgrade, was about to cry.

"Materials are sufficient! Time's short, but there's Xuan Kong Shi! I'll lend it to you for free!" Ye Liuyun laughed.

"So I should thank you for not charging?" Qiong Qi rolled his eyes at Ye Liuyun.

"No need to be polite, get to work!" Ye Liuyun said, then tossed Qiong Qi into the Xuan Kong Shi.

Then he went to each of those preparing for battle, briefed them on the situation, and ensured they were ready.

Wu Qingcheng also rushed to the Demonic God Sect, recruited three hundred fire‑aligned and three hundred ice‑water‑aligned Demon Cultivators, and had Ye Liuyun take them along to deal with the minor goons later.

Ye Liuyun then enlisted Du Yan, having them help retrofit a Warship to resist Fire Attack and convert attacks into ice attributes.

The needed ice‑materials were to be obtained directly from Wu Qingcheng.

Finally, Ye Liuyun approached Zhu Youfu, commissioned a batch of Formation Plates primarily for fire defense as spares, and, on the side, took a good amount of jerky from Zhu Youfu.
