Chapter 166: Kill on Sight
The group of disciples, looking at the massive creatures before them, felt their scalp tingle.
"Ah, ah!"
A few more cries of agony rose in succession.
The attacks of the crowd landed on the scorpions, as if merely scratching them; the scorpions didn't care at all.
Someone took the lead and fled outright, and the rest immediately scattered in all directions. Those who ran slowly became the scorpions' breakfast.
After Ye Liuyun and Han Feng ran far away, they glanced back; seeing the terrifying scene made their hearts pound. Lei Ming's big eyes were also narrowed to a slit, clearly frightened as well.
The scorpions here are all this huge; if they were ferocious beasts, they'd be enormous!
"Senior brothers and sisters, I'm heading to the central area, so I won't go with you. Take care!"
"Take care!"
They bid farewell, and Ye Liuyun used his body technique, heading straight for the central area under Lei Ming's sensing.
Ye Liuyun's Divine Sense was fully unleashed, covering a fifty‑li radius, all within his surveillance.
He also discovered some local ferocious beasts, all ordinary but each larger than the last. Even a mouse was about as big as Lei Ming when he enlarged his body.
Just from their massive size, Ye Liuyun could guess these beasts were hard to deal with. Like the scorpions they just saw, they were only True Essence Ninth Realm, yet killing a Sea Transformation realm Martial Cultivator was effortless; their bodies were unusually hard, impervious to blades and spears.
So whenever he encountered local ferocious beasts along the way, he simply avoided them.
Three tails followed him from behind, but Ye Liuyun made no special effort to shake them off. He had already decided that in the Secret Realm, if anyone struck him, he would kill them on the spot.
When they reached a relatively safe spot, Ye Liuyun finally stopped and waited for the three to catch up.
"Your speed is too slow; if I don't stop, you can't keep up," Ye Liuyun said helplessly, shaking his head.
Three Sea Transformation Third Tier disciples flashed out from the dense forest.
"Junior brother Ye, your courage is quite something! Sister here is even reluctant to kill you!" a female disciple said first.
The other two disciples formed a triangular formation, surrounding him, yet they dared not look into his eyes.
"If you're coming to kill me, you should at least tell me which sect you're from. As far as I know, many here intend to kill me!"
Ye Liuyun asked aloud.
Hehe, you already know that? the female disciple giggled, then said, "We're not from any sect; we're after the bounty for those 30 million medium‑quality Crystal Stones, ten million taels of silver."
"Oh! Got it!" Ye Liuyun nodded, realizing they came for the Great Zhou Dynasty's bounty.
"Hmph, didn't expect your head to be so valuable! In the academy the dean protects you, but here no one does!" a male disciple sneered.
"Enough chatter, act now!" another male disciple urged impatiently.
"You think you can kill me like that?" Ye Liuyun asked, puzzled, not knowing where their courage came from.
"Hehe, Junior brother Ye, sister knows you have some skill; how about we have some fun first?"
Saying that, she swayed her hips and walked toward Ye Liuyun.
But Ye Liuyun stared blankly, as if dazed.
The other two men, upon seeing this, smiled. The woman's seductive technique seemed to be working.
"Junior brother Ye, let sister pamper you properly!"
The woman stepped forward, speaking as she reached out to grab Ye Liuyun. In her hand she bore a metallic claw artifact; with a single grab, even metal and stone would be crushed.
But before her hand could reach, Ye Liuyun pointed a finger at her brow, moving with lightning speed; his eyes were clear and transparent, no longer the dazed look of being beguiled.
"You... how could..." the woman began, but fell directly in front of Ye Liuyun before finishing.
"Hah, your seductive technique is far from mine!" Ye Liuyun sneered, then looked up at the other male disciple.
The disciple quickly closed his eyes, yet still felt his Soul ripped out by Ye Liuyun, then scorched by thunder‑fire, letting out a wail before dying instantly.
The other male disciple, seeing this, shouted in alarm, "You can cast illusion without eye contact?"
"Hmm. But you learned it too late!" As soon as Ye Liuyun finished speaking, that disciple let out a wail and fell dead.
Lei Ming gave the three corpses a contemptuous glance, then helped Ye Liuyun collect their Storage Rings and weapons.
Ye Liuyun turned and sprinted onward in the direction Lei Ming indicated.
Not having run far, Ye Liuyun drew his Blazing Sun Bow and shot in one direction, firing several arrows in rapid succession.
He then sheathed the bow and drew the Demon Slaying Sword from his back.
He kept charging forward.
On a distant big tree, three academy disciples were concealed, waiting for him. Unexpectedly, a sound of something cutting through the air came from behind.
"Who's that?" one of them shouted sharply, turning his spear to meet it.
A booming sound rang as an arrow was blocked. Then the second and third arrows followed; he hurriedly swung his spear to parry. The other two did the same, each being hit by three arrows.
They were Sea Transformation Fourth Tier Martial Cultivators; Ye Liuyun's Blazing Sun Bow couldn't wound them, but their positions were fully exposed, making further concealment pointless.
"Who dares to spoil our plans?" one asked, pointing toward the direction the arrows came from, yet saw no one.
Ye Liuyun's arrows didn't travel in a straight line, so they naturally couldn't locate the shooter.
At this moment, Ye Liuyun rushed forward and, without a word, struck directly. He recognized these three as people around Chang Hao, so he didn't ask further and simply killed them.
He swung a blade at the nearest disciple, never pausing, then charged straight ahead.
That overwhelmingly fierce slash plunged the disciple into instant despair; in panic he raised his spear upward to block. His spear was a lower‑grade Heaven Tier weapon, quite advanced.
But against Ye Liuyun's blade, it offered no resistance; the blade and the person were cleaved apart, and Ye Liuyun burst through the middle, then followed with a second slash toward the next disciple ahead.
The disciple gasped, "Liuyun Sword!"
The sword strike, radiant as flowing clouds, hadn't even finished gathering momentum when Ye Liuyun's blade struck again, shattering the weapon and cutting the person into fragments.
The other disciple, seeing this, was stunned!
"Is Ye Liuyun really a Sea Transformation First Tier disciple? He slashed two Sea Transformation Fourth Tier disciples at once!" terrified, he lost all will to fight and knelt, begging for mercy.
"Junior brother, spare us; it was Chang Hao who sent us, not our fault..."
He hadn't finished speaking when Ye Liuyun's blade came down with a "swish"; the man trembled, a line of blood splitting from his brow, his body cleaving in two and collapsing to the ground.
"Too late!" Ye Liuyun said softly.
Lei Ming had already retrieved the other two people's Storage Rings, then gathered the Storage Ring of the person before him and leapt onto Ye Liuyun's shoulder.
Ye Liuyun's figure vanished again.
The corpse, still exuding a scent of blood, was quickly detected by nearby ferocious beasts, which rushed over to feed.
