Chapter 1718: One-Time Pill Formation

Ye Liuyun tried taking the medicinal pill mainly to feel its effects and duration, to have a clear idea in mind, not to take advantage of this small benefit.

"How is it?"

After Ye Liuyun opened his eyes, Li YuanYang immediately urged him for an answer.

"What rank of medicinal pill are these?"

Ye Liuyun asked Li YuanYang in return.

Actually, he really thought these medicinal pills were not that good.

The effects were not strong, and the duration was also short.

Although he had never refined a Divine Rank medicinal pill before, even producing this kind of pill would be deceiving people.

He also felt embarrassed to say so.

He doesn't know the situation here; if he doesn't speak about it, he hasn't refined such a pill, and naturally he has no right to speak.

"This is a first-rank, first-grade medicinal pill; among Divine Realm pills, it's the worst, but compared to Mortal Realm pills, it's much stronger, right?"

Li YuanYang said somewhat proudly.

Ye Liuyun nodded, feeling embarrassed to disparage the quality of this medicinal pill.

He merely said lightly: "I've already tested the effects; let's first refine a batch to try!"

He thought that after he finished speaking, Li YuanYang and the others would leave.

Unexpectedly, Li YuanYang simply sat down beside him, as if wanting to watch him refine pills.

Ye Liuyun also had no choice; since the medicinal ingredients still needed to be supplied by others, accepting their supervision was also normal.

So he directly took out the Nine Dragon River Mountain Cauldron and began refining medicinal pills.

The Qi Refining Pill requires a total of ten medicinal ingredients, among which one main ingredient and two auxiliary ingredients are of Divine Rank, while the others are Mortal Rank ingredients; the refinement procedure is also not much different from what he did before.

His flame power had also reached the Divine Realm, so refining it posed no difficulty.

He followed the sequence: adding ingredients, melting, forming the pill, nurturing the pill…

Although he hadn't refined pills for a long time, for something as simple as the Qi Refining Pill, he still found it easy.

Li YuanYang watched Ye Liuyun's entire set of movements, feeling they were very professional, secretly thinking he had picked the right treasure.

Indeed, after Ye Liuyun showed the refined medicinal pill to Li YuanYang and the others, everyone was greatly surprised.

"He actually succeeded on the first try?"

Li Manfu felt somewhat incredulous.

"Haha, not only did he succeed, but it's a first-rank, second-grade pill, one grade higher than the sample pill!"

Li YuanYang laughed loudly.

He himself had not expected that Ye Liuyun could succeed in one attempt.

Only Ye Liuyun knew that this was due to his solid foundation in pill refining.

He also tried one of the pills he had refined.

The effects were slightly stronger.

Next, he refined another batch of Qi Refining Pills.

This time, based on his own refining experience, he slightly adjusted the amounts of different ingredients and also varied the heat a little.

Li YuanYang and the others naturally could not tell the difference.

But when the pill was formed, Li YuanYang's eyes almost popped out.

"First-rank… sixth-grade!"

The others also widened their eyes, unable to speak.

Ye Liuyun himself tried another pill, and after careful analysis, felt there was still room for improvement.

But he did not reveal more, instead beginning to refine Body Tempering Pills.

Just like the Qi Refining Pill, it also succeeded in one attempt.

During the second refining, Ye Liuyun again produced a first-rank, fifth-grade medicinal pill.

This was still Ye Liuyun deliberately concealing his strength; he merely tested the effects of his improvements, not giving his full effort in refining.

"Haha, good, good! Our Ice Spring City now has another alchemist!"

Li YuanYang burst into laughter.

Upon hearing this, Ye Liuyun secretly thought: "Ice Spring City's alchemist?"

"Aren't they supposed to participate in the selection?"

Suddenly, he realized that Li YuanYang had changed his mind, wanting to keep him in Ice Spring City as an alchemist rather than send him to the Alien Battlefield.

To Li YuanYang, sending anyone to the battlefield was the same.

However, an alchemist is a rare treasure, and even more so a source of wealth.

Ye Liuyun remained calm and seized the opportunity to request of Li YuanYang: "The prescriptions in the City Lord's mansion are quite basic; could I go to the merchants' association to check the situation and buy some more valuable prescriptions?"

"Of course you should go, of course you should go! But I need to prepare a bit; good prescriptions are likely to be costly!"

Seeing that Ye Liuyun indeed had the ability to refine pills and his level was not bad, Li YuanYang naturally wanted him to refine better pills.

But he also knew Ye Liuyun lacked Divine Crystals and would need him to provide funds.

And the prices of good prescriptions are indeed high.

Moreover, after buying prescriptions, one still needs to purchase medicinal ingredients, which also require Crystal Stones.

So he let Ye Liuyun rest first while he went to prepare Divine Crystals.

After Li YuanYang left, Li Manfu also came over, clasping his hands in salute to Ye Liuyun: "Brother Ye, from now on we'll have to rely on you to look after us; if you have good medicinal pills, remember to leave a share for us brothers!"

"Brother Li, don't be polite; from now on we're all our own people, if there are good medicinal pills I'll definitely leave some for you."

"Do you usually use the Qi Refining Pills from the mansion?"

Ye Liuyun was a little courteous and began to ask Li Manfu.

Li Manfu whispered to Ye Liuyun: "Brother Ye, you know, the pill grade in the manor is too low.

To be frank, we sell the pills we receive and then buy third‑ and fourth‑grade pills.

If you refine a sixth‑grade Lianqi Pill next time, I'll have my brothers buy directly from you!"

Ye Liuyun heard that and already had an idea.

He still had things to ask of Li Manfu, so he generously said at once: "Pills are simple; if you, Brother Li, need any in the future, just take them from me, I'll give them to you directly!"

"This… how can I accept this!"

Li Manfu was at a loss.

"We're comrades! But you must never tell anyone else!"

Ye Liuyun laughed.

"Certainly, certainly!"

Li Manfu also repeatedly agreed.

"The pills my brothers need, I'll have them buy directly from you.

Don't worry, we'll absolutely keep it quiet!"

He thought Ye Liuyun intended to pocket some ingredients and secretly refine pills to sell.

There are many alchemists in the manor who do this.

Ye Liuyun didn't care about that; he simply asked Li Manfu: "Brother Li, I can't stay idle. Could you also place me into the Foreign Tribe selection competition training, so I can practice as well?

You know, we people from the Mortal Realm have plenty of combat experience and aren't afraid to fight."

"Well… I'm not worried about your safety; they're all inexperienced civilians.

But I'm afraid the City Lord might assign you a pill‑refining task then!"

Li Manfu hesitated.

"That's easy! I'll train by day and refine pills by night."

"You've seen how fast I refine pills, right?"

Ye Liuyun began to hype Li Manfu up.

"I see…" Li Manfu also thought that Ye Liuyun's pill‑refining speed was indeed fast.

He didn't understand that different pills require different processing times.

"Alright, I'll agree! But we're still in the recruitment stage; not everyone is gathered yet.

Who will ultimately be in charge of this is also undecided.

But when the time comes I'll definitely get you in so you can get a taste of it."

In the end Li Manfu couldn't resist the lure of those pills and readily agreed.

"Then I'll thank you first, Brother Li!"

Ye Liuyun quickly expressed thanks.

"It's a trivial matter! We're comrades, no need for politeness!"

Li Manfu waved his hand, pretending to be magnanimous.
