Chapter 184: First Entry into the Main Institute
Ye Liuyun spent the whole journey learning Illusion Art from the Mystic Saint.
When they reached the academy, the Mystic Saint let out a sigh.
"From now on I won't know what to teach you! You little brat learns so fast, and you apply it to everything—your talent is truly unparalleled. Now I understand why Old Fire Guy never mentioned taking you as a disciple later. He just couldn't teach you! Haha!"
"Teacher, you flatter me!" Ye Liuyun bowed in thanks.
"What? What do you call me?" the Mystic Saint asked, a bit agitated.
"Teacher! Although I haven't formally taken you as master, your guidance is enough for me to call you teacher!"
Ye Liuyun wasn't exaggerating; without the Mystic Saint's instruction, he would never have learned Illusion Art, nor could he have progressed this quickly.
After several days of study, his Illusion Art advanced greatly; he not only fused it more tightly with Spiritual Soul Attack, but also combined the Lightning Prison Cage and Thunder-Fire Blaze with Illusion Art, directly creating a Thunder-Fire Hell Illusion.
This Thunder-Fire Hell Illusion can be cast directly through the Illusion Pupil, pulling victims into the hell he created, and it can also spawn countless vengeful ghost soldiers to attack the enemy, saving him effort. If he destroys the opponent's Soul, he can instantly convert that Soul into nourishment for his own Soul.
Moreover, he has already begun practicing Dual Illusion Art. Once someone falls under this illusion, escape becomes nearly impossible. Even a Saint finds Dual Illusion Art hard to guard against.
After a Saint breaks the first layer of the illusion, he thinks the illusion is gone, but in fact he remains in the second layer, under Ye Liuyun's control.
Four days later, their Flying Boat rushed to the Saint Martial Academy Main Institute.
The Grand Elder first processed Ye Liuyun's inner disciple registration, giving him a Token and attire. He also registered the Mystic Saint, allowing him to stay permanently with a leisurely post.
Many of the Main Institute's mountain peaks float in the air, resembling Blood Thunder Peak. Qiong Qi told him they are supported by Formations; without a Formation's permission, outsiders cannot enter the peaks.
Yet the scenery still left Ye Liuyun dazzled. It felt like stepping into a mythic world: floating peaks, dense spiritual aura in the high sky like thick fog, celestial birds soaring, and many disciples gliding through the air.
On each peak there is at least one Saint's aura; some peaks bear a dozen or more Saint auras.
As for the area, need not say more—Ye Liuyun's Divine Sense cannot even reach the edges.
It seems his Divine Sense detection range should be upgraded when he has time.
"Don't casually use Divine Sense to probe any peak unless necessary. Those are private territories. If you provoke that short‑tempered Saint, you'll be in trouble. The Main Institute is full of talents, and your current Divine Sense power is still insufficient!" the Grand Elder admonished him.
"Understood!" Ye Liuyun noted carefully, daring not to casually scout others' residences.
Afterward, the Grand Elder led Ye Liuyun back directly to his residence on Tianqian Feng.
"Tianqian Feng is my cultivation site. Besides me, only you have a senior brother here. Neither of us likes having servants, so no outsiders are on this peak. You may live wherever, build any dwelling you like, feel free to tinker. I'll adjust the Formation so you can come and go at will," the Grand Elder explained to Ye Liuyun and the Mystic Saint.
"I already have a house; later I can help the Mystic senior build a dwelling," Ye Liuyun replied.
"This is your senior brother, Hao Chengfeng."
As they spoke, a young man in his twenties approached, clad in blue robes, with a square‑faced visage, whose realm was the Seventh Sea Transformation.
"Chengfeng, let me introduce you: this is the Mystic Saint, from the Great Zhou Branch Institute, and will become an Elder of our Main Institute. This youngster is my newly accepted disciple, Ye Liuyun; you should look after him," the Grand Elder introduced.
They exchanged greetings. The Grand Elder then tasked Hao Chengfeng with taking them to arrange their dwellings and hurried away.
Hao Chengfeng is warm and generous, and quickly became familiar with Ye Liuyun.
They first built a dwelling for the Mystic Saint, then leveled a plot for Ye Liuyun, allowing him to set up the Grand Hall.
Then Ye Liuyun introduced several Monster Beasts to Hao Chengfeng, asking him to look after them in the future.
Hao Chengfeng knew the master's disciple must be exceptional; he didn't expect Ye Liuyun to have tamed three Holy Realm Monster Beasts, plus one of Eighth Sea Transformation, whose realm even surpasses his, making him deeply envious.
That evening, Ye Liuyun and Hao Chengfeng grilled meat and chatted, while the Mystic Saint did not join the two youngsters.
Hao Chengfeng briefed Ye Liuyun on the academy's notices and other matters. Ye Liuyun also mentioned his past conflict with the Profound Heaven Saint.
Hao Chengfeng laughed, "So you really have many opponents! That Profound Heaven Saint has many disciples, none of which are good birds; each is more cunning than the last. Aside from Xiao Mubai whom you killed, there are two tougher ones: the second disciple Ge Chengyu of the Sixth Sea Transformation, and the senior disciple Li Xuanbing of the Eighth Sea Transformation."
Moreover, within the Main Institute there is a Clear River Pavilion, the strongest force composed of academy disciples. It is said to have been built by Zhou Qingjiang, a descendant of the Great Zhou Dynasty. He rarely appears; when issues arise, a few of his Protectors step forward. Their realms are roughly around the Eighth to Ninth Sea Transformation.
Ye Liuyun sighed, "Alas! I don't want to provoke them either! They keep holding me. There's no choice—deal with them one by one. My strength is still too weak; I must improve quickly."
The two chatted a while longer, and Ye Liuyun suddenly asked about Lin Xueying. He recalled that Lin Xueying is a disciple of the Main Institute.
"How do you know her? She's one of the beauties in our academy!" Hao Chengfeng asked oddly.
"I helped her once outside, so I got to know her. She told me to find her when I came to the Main Institute," Ye Liuyun said, mentioning only the assistance, not that Lin Xueying was drugged by Jin Wuyou.
"Many people here don't care about personal favors. You rescued her, and she probably just said that at the time," Hao Chengfeng said nonchalantly.
"Hmm, I didn't have a deep relationship with her originally. I just thought, since I'm here, out of courtesy I should greet her," Ye Liuyun said.
"That makes some sense. We'll see how the master arranges you tomorrow; if nothing comes up, I'll take you to find her. Just hope you don't run into her master, the Martial Soul Saint—those scorpion‑like beauties are terrifying," Hao Chengfeng said reluctantly, clearly still uneasy about the Martial Soul Saint.
They chatted a bit more, then each went their separate ways.
Ye Liuyun returned to the Grand Hall to continue cultivation. His current realm is a weak point, so his practice focuses on strengthening it.
At the same time, he manifested two hundred soul swords and began hammering each with Blood Thunder and Golden Crow Holy Fire.
