Chapter 1996: Purchasing Slaves

"That works too!"

Feng Hong Xiu readily agreed.

But she added, "Young Master Ye, you don't mind if I bring a maid with you, do you?"

It's good to have someone run errands; we can't both go ourselves.

Ye Liuyun said hesitantly, "As for errands, I do have someone who could do them…"

Before he could finish, Feng Hong Xiu laughed and continued, "What if this maid is someone you've already seen naked?"

"Hm?"

Ye Liuyun immediately realized she was referring to Qing Yan.

Because just now, when he went upstairs, he saw Qing Yan waiting nearby, dressed in ordinary women's clothing, which struck him as odd.

At this moment he was even more puzzled about what kind of medicine Feng Hong Xiu was selling in her gourd.

Feng Hong Xiu explained, "You are one of our major clients.

Giving you a maid isn't a big deal; you don't need to make a fuss. I have plenty of women here."

"I just think she already knows your identity, and keeping her with me would actually be unsafe for you."

"Killing her outright would be a waste; she hasn't done anything wrong."

"How about letting her follow you."

"After all, you've already seen her body, so it's fate between you! But if you don't want to keep her, I'll just eliminate this future trouble."

Ye Liuyun saw that she was pushing this far, clearly intent on handing Qing Yan over to him.

Though he didn't know Feng Hong Xiu's motives, he didn't refuse.

He said to Feng Hong Xiu, "Keeping her is fine, but I must have full control over her! I don't want a hidden risk by her side."

"Of course you can.

People are yours now; how you handle them is up to you!"

Feng Hong Xiu immediately agreed and ordered someone to bring Qing Yan in and hand her over to Ye Liuyun.

Without hesitation, Ye Liuyun released his Soul, first performing a Soul Search on Qing Yan, then having her sign a Master‑Servant Contract, after which he felt at ease.

Through the Soul Search, he also learned Feng Hong Xiu's true purpose.

It was likely to test him and also give Qing Yan an explanation.

Of course, it also indeed reminded Ye Liuyun of Red Luan Pavilion.

However, whether Ye Liuyun will cooperate with them later is uncertain, and pondering it now is useless.

He simply had Qing Yan hand over Red Luan Pavilion's exclusive Token, to prevent the Pavilion from locking onto her location.

Feng Hong Xiu immediately crushed Qing Yan's Token, patted Qing Yan's shoulder, and said, "From now on you're his woman! Sister Feng Hong Xiu wishes you good luck!"

"Thank you, Sister Feng Hong Xiu!"

Qing Yan promptly thanked Feng Hong Xiu.

Having already signed a Master‑Servant Contract with Ye Liuyun, she naturally obeyed his orders, so she no longer answered "yes" to Sister Feng Hong Xiu.

Feng Hong Xiu nodded appreciatively.

She felt that Qing Yan's departure from Red Luan Pavilion was indeed a form of liberation.

Afterwards, Feng Hong Xiu asked Ye Liuyun, "Shall we go then?"

"You are now my employer."

"Where are we heading?"

"It's all up to you."

"I originally planned to go to the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance to purchase some Martial Cultivator strong slaves."

Ye Liuyun replied.

"Then please, I'll follow you!"

Feng Hong Xiu made a beckoning gesture toward Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun immediately had Qing Yan lead the way, taking Feng Hong Xiu away from the Red Mansion, exiting Red Luan Pavilion, and rushing toward the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance.

The eastern Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance chamber, unlike other districts, isn't a single building but several connected structures, with a huge beast and slave market in the middle.

The beasts and slaves sold here each wear a collar containing a Formation, controlled by a corresponding Token.

Whoever holds the Token can control them and become their master.

As soon as Ye Liuyun and his party arrived, they immediately attracted the attention of the sales guides.

Their attire clearly marked them as either rich or noble.

A woman hurried over to speak to Ye Liuyun, "Young sir, I am Ling Er, a sales guide here."

"Whatever you need, you can ask me."

"May I know how you would like to be addressed, sir?"

Ye Liuyun, being generous, immediately produced a Top‑grade Divine Crystal and tossed it to Ling Er.

This made the other sales guides who hadn't rushed to speak regret it, casting jealous glances.

Ling Er, shocked and excited, repeatedly thanked Ye Liuyun.

She rarely sees Top‑grade Divine Crystals.

Moreover, without a word, he immediately presented a Top‑grade Divine Crystal, so she resolved to serve Ye Liuyun well.

If she can catch Ye Liuyun's favor, she won't have to work so hard for the rest of her life.

"My surname is Ye."

Ye Liuyun finally spoke.

"Young Master Ye! Whatever your request, feel free to state it; I will fulfill it!"

Ling'er hinted with implied meaning in her words.

Feng Hong Xiu and Qing Yan both immediately caught the subtext.

They didn't expect that the salesperson here would be less tactful than the girls at the Red Phoenix Pavilion.

Ye Liuyun, however, didn't mind, and just said to Ling'er: 'Miss Ling'er, I came today to buy some relatively strong slaves.'

Can you help me consider?

Seeing that Ye Liuyun didn't pick up on her hint, Ling'er didn't dare to be too blunt, immediately changed the subject, and began introducing the slaves to Ye Liuyun.

'Young Master Ye, you've come at just the right time; we just received a batch of slaves yesterday. I don't know what level of cultivation you're looking for?'

Ling'er led Ye Liuyun while introducing him.

'Are there any at the seventh/eighth level?'

Ye Liuyun asked.

Upon hearing that, Ling'er also felt embarrassed and said: 'Young Master Ye, you also know that there aren't many powerful cultivators at such a high level who could be caught and made slaves.'

Ye Liuyun also knew that high-level slaves are hard to find.

If even the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance doesn't have them, then other places would be even harder to find.

'However, we actually have a few here.'

'But they all have some problems: some are not quite sane, some have serious illnesses.'

'You can go take a look first, then we'll talk.'

Ling'er said, leading Ye Liuyun to the slave-selling area.

There are quite a few people here; the slaves all wear collars, chained in rows of cages for customers to pick from.

There are also some female slaves, dressed revealingly, twisting their waists to attract customers.

Under Ling'er's guidance, Ye Liuyun found the steward specifically responsible for selling slaves, had him introduce Ye Liuyun, and took him on a tour.

The steward first took Ye Liuyun to look at the slaves of the seventh/eighth level; there were only five in total.

One of them was a thin, small man with a dull gaze, crouched in a corner of the iron cage; a middle-aged woman with disheveled hair and dirty face, upon seeing Feng Hong Xiu and the other women, actually spat at them and loudly cursed them as fox spirits.

'These two people have suffered relatively severe damage to their souls, and their minds are already abnormal.'

The steward introduced them to Ye Liuyun.

The other three: one is an old woman whose life is about to end, relying solely on her True Essence to keep breathing.

There are also two men: one is only at the early stage of the seventh level, and his True Essence is not solid.

Another man had his arm cut off.

It's unknown what weapon cut it off, and even using True Essence cannot restore it.
