Chapter 2078: Crazy Plan

Ye Liuyun proclaimed himself king in the East and changed the state name to the Eastern Cloud Dynasty.

Yu Xiaofeng is the President, overseeing all military affairs; Xiao Yunfang is the Imperial Guard Leader; Pei Yong is the Leader of the garrison forces across the regions.

He Lian Xiu and Ye Tiandao also do not care about those empty titles, so they did not announce them.

Aside from Pei Yong taking on a few extra responsibilities, the others remain exactly as before, with no real changes.

From now on, they will continue to strengthen the elite troops line, focusing on cultivating high-level Martial Cultivators.

After Ye Liuyun became king, major powers such as the Spirit Clan, Dragon Clan, Chaotic Beast Mountain, and Red Luan Pavilion ceremonially sent envoys with news, all of whom acknowledged the status of the Eastern Cloud Dynasty.

However, the envoys from the Spirit Clan and Dragon Clan were of low rank, so Ye Liuyun had little to discuss with them.

Chaotic Beast Mountain only sent a verbal message through a messenger.

Their ferocious beasts make travel inconvenient, which Ye Liuyun can understand.

Red Luan Pavilion sent Feng Hong Xiu as its representative.

Feng Hong Xiu was too lazy to travel that far and did not even meet Ye Liuyun in person; instead, she used a Transmission Talisman to contact Ye Liuyun, delivering the information that way.

The Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance had already expressed its stance earlier.

Only the Profound Heaven Sect had Sect Master Lu Yi come personally to visit Ye Liuyun for a face-to-face discussion.

"Congratulations, King Ye, on governing the Eastern Dynasty!"

Lu Yi was very courteous upon meeting Ye Liuyun.

"Sect Master Lu, no need for such courtesy! Your personal arrival is already a great honor!"

Ye Liuyun replied politely.

"Haha, there was a small misunderstanding with King Ye before; coming in person is only fitting!"

Lu Yi quickly added.

Ye Liuyun merely gave a slight smile, did not bring up the past matter, and instead turned to discuss the current situation.

"The Profound Heaven Sect has now broken free from the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance's control and can return to the proper path! I wonder what plans Sect Master Lu has?"

Ye Liuyun asked.

"The Profound Heaven Sect is merely a Martial Cultivator Sect, primarily focused on enhancing its own strength and befriending all parties!"

Lu Yi spoke in diplomatic terms, offending no one.

Ye Liuyun shook his head at his reply.

"When the nest is overturned, how can any egg remain intact! If the Profound Heaven Sect tries to play it safe, it will likely offend both sides in the end!"

Ye Liuyun got straight to the point.

Lu Yi understood this reasoning, but he still did not know that Ye Liuyun intended to compete with the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance for business.

"May I ask which two sides King Ye refers to?"

He also wanted to know who Ye Liuyun's next target was—whom he intended to ally with and whom to strike.

Or perhaps he wishes to bide his time, letting all parties settle before plotting slowly.

"What if it's me against the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance?"

Ye Liuyun asked directly.

Lu Yi was startled by Ye Liuyun's words.

"King Ye has just seized the Eastern Dynasty and now wants to strike the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance; that may not be wise!"

Lu Yi mused.

Ye Liuyun laughed, "When I first set my sights on the Eastern Dynasty, everyone said I was unwise!"

"King Ye is powerful, with strong troops and fine horses; attacking the Eastern Dynasty would be a piece of cake."

But against the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance, it comes down to Martial Cultivator strength.

As far as I know, this area is actually King Ye's weak point, right?

"Then do you think the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance's strength lies in Martial Cultivators?"

Ye Liuyun retorted.

"Of course, the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance's Martial Cultivator strength should still surpass that of our Profound Heaven Sect!"

Lu Yi said as if it were obvious.

Ye Liuyun shook his head again.

"The Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance's power comes from their wealth! Without financial backing, they have no Martial Cultivators!"

Ye Liuyun said calmly.

Lu Yi thought about it and found some sense in it.

"So, in terms of wealth, does King Ye consider himself to have an advantage over the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance?"

He asked in return.

Ye Liuyun said slowly, "Not at present, but what if the territories I capture cause all the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance's assets to fall under my control?"

"This..." Lu Yi felt frightened upon hearing it.

If Ye Liuyun truly did that, it would throw the world into chaos!

He already foresees a storm of blood and carnage in the East.

Ye Liuyun made it clear that he intends to openly seize the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance.

Ye Liuyun saw that he was worried about unrest in the East, and he said lightly, "The turmoil is only temporary.

The Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance relies on its chain of trade guilds.

And I can, in a single night, claim all those resources as my own.

When their wealth is cut off, even if their Martial Cultivator strength remains strong, I can at least seize half of the realm, right?

"Probably... other forces wouldn't agree, would they?"

Lu Yi said hesitantly.

Ye Liuyun continued, "The Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance almost emptied the Profound Heaven Sect; does the Profound Heaven Sect still intend to support the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance?"

As for Chaotic Beast Mountain, the Dragon Clan and the Red Luan Pavilion, I will handle them personally!

I think the Spirit Clan won't intervene either! On one hand, switching a merchant alliance doesn't affect them much; on the other hand, the Spirit Clan dwells in the Eastern Region, making them easier to attack!

Ye Liuyun's words made Lu Yi's heart race even more.

It seemed Ye Liuyun even dared to strike the Spirit Clan!

Ye Liuyun also reassured him, "Don't worry, I won't fight the Spirit Clan; it's just a show of force."

But do you think the Spirit Clan would risk confronting me?

They have hardly managed to amass such a great enterprise; they won't easily oppose my hundreds of thousands of troops!"

Lu Yi, hearing that, fell into thought.

The Spirit Clan not intervening is indeed quite possible!

But what about Chaotic Beast Mountain, the Dragon Clan, and the Red Luan Pavilion?

How could they agree?

So he still dared not take a stance.

Ye Liuyun's plan is too reckless; he's afraid it would wipe out the Profound Heaven Sect.

Ye Liuyun also knew he couldn't decide instantly, so he temporarily set the matter aside and turned to talk about his identity.

"Sect leader Lu, do you know that I am a disciple of the Profound Heaven Sect?"

Ye Liuyun suddenly asked.

Lu Yi jumped in surprise, then laughed.

"How could that be possible?

How could the Profound Heaven Sect possibly produce a talent like Ye King!"

Lu Yi didn't believe it at all.

Ye Liuyun then explained to him in full detail how he disguised himself as Chen Feng to infiltrate the Profound Heaven Sect and plotted against Murong Tian.

"You are Chen Feng?"

Lu Yi was also greatly shocked.

Since the last time Chen Feng stayed in the Death Legion, Jin Qing Song has gone several times to the sect leader, asking for people.

Yao Dong Lai also holds Chen Feng in high regard, and Chen Feng's prestige among the disciples keeps rising.

Therefore, his purpose this time was originally to ask Ye Liuyun to return Chen Feng.

But unexpectedly, Chen Feng turned out to be Ye Liuyun.

"If this news spreads, the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance might misunderstand our Profound Heaven Sect and would have already secretly allied with Ye Liuyun!"

Lu Yi thought to himself.

However, what Lu Yi didn't know is that Ye Liuyun had already sent people to spread the news.

He also prepared fifty thousand troops, intending to return with Lu Yi to the Profound Heaven Sect and launch a massive propaganda campaign.

"I joined the Profound Heaven Sect, yet I haven't done anything detrimental to it; on the contrary, I helped the Profound Heaven Sect break free from the Ten Thousand Merchants Alliance's control.

The Profound Heaven Sect also has no rule against accepting me as a disciple! As a disciple of the Profound Heaven Sect, I even deserve some rewards from you, sect leader!"

Ye Liuyun even joked with him.

"Hahaha!"

Lu Yi could only laugh helplessly along.
