Chapter 2417: Race Against Time

Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi had already set out for the Fifth Prince's treasure hideout at this point.

They feared that after the Fifth Prince first learned that Wei Yan had encountered trouble, he would move the treasure.

Their worry was justified; the Fifth Prince suddenly lost contact with Liao Yunyang and immediately began gathering men to investigate the treasure hideout.

But they got a step ahead, traveling on a Flying Swallow, and landed right before the entrance of the treasure Cave, bypassing all external dangers.

Outside this treasure hideout, ferocious beasts roamed, and a natural barrier stood.

With Liao Yunyang leading the way, they easily avoided all traps along the route.

So when they were leaving with a full haul, the Fifth Prince arrived with a squad of Martial Cultivators and soldiers.

And they also had to face the beasts' interception.

When he entered the Cave to inspect two days later, Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi had already, using Wei Yan's information, broken into two other Holy Land Dynasty treasure hideouts and made a huge profit.

Moreover, they understood the setups and triggered none of the mechanisms that would alert the Holy Land Dynasty.

The Fifth Prince's treasure already astonished them, since it was supplies stocked for a million‑strong army.

Each of the Holy Land Dynasty's treasures was similar, enough resources for hundreds of thousands to sustain a multi‑year war.

Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi were grinning ear‑to‑ear, their hands numb from gathering resources!

However, to break through those two hideouts quickly, the captives they had previously taken also fell, with over three thousand casualties.

That was still under the condition that they could break the Formation.

It shows that without Wei Yan's information, obtaining the treasure would have cost them an even higher price.

Some Formations are even hard for Qiong Qi to unravel.

Even when not traps, these treasures cannot be seized by just a few people.

On the Fifth Prince's side, he immediately considered that Wei Yan might also have trouble and reported it to the Holy Land Dynasty.

The Holy Land Dynasty promptly dispatched strong ones, rushing to each treasure site via Teleportation Array to inspect the situation.

The Martial Cultivators sent this time were all genuine strong ones, just like Liao Yunyang.

Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi located the last treasure hideout in Xingkong and were about to descend when they suddenly saw two figures racing toward the hideout.

"Damn, the Holy Land Dynasty seems to have discovered it! Someone's rushing to the hideout, and they're powerful—Liao Yunyang alone can't stop them!"

Ye Liuyun immediately told Qiong Qi what he had seen.

It's still too far; Qiong Qi can't see the people yet.

"Go down and take them out.

You have White Light that can instantly annihilate them, don't you?"

Qiong Qi said indifferently.

"But if we wipe them out and the Holy Land Dynasty discovers it and sends more people,

we might not have enough time to take the treasure!"

Ye Liuyun said worriedly.

Qiong Qi thought for a moment, then grinned wickedly and retorted to Ye Liuyun: "Do you think that after they discover the other two hideouts were robbed, they'll just take the treasure here directly?"

Ye Liuyun slapped his thigh at the remark: "Exactly! When they move the treasure, we'll strike, forcing them to bring the treasure right before us.

Then we'll withdraw immediately, leaving the Holy Land Dynasty with no recourse against us!"

So Ye Liuyun waited in Xingkong, watching the two strong ones enter the Grand Hall, then piloted the Flying Swallow, slowly heading toward them.

After they emerged, Ye Liuyun retrieved the Flying Swallow and, with Liao Yunyang, his duplicate, and Qiong Qi, went to confront them.

The two strong ones were startled, not expecting anyone to dare rob them.

"We are members of the Dynasty; what do you intend?"

One of them even threatened them.

The other immediately reported the situation to the Holy Land Dynasty.

"What are you doing?

Robbing!"

Ye Liuyun gave a cold smile and ordered everyone to act together.

Liao Yunyang first blocked one, while the other was attacked jointly by Ye Liuyun, his duplicate, and Qiong Qi, launching a Spiritual Soul Attack and planting a Slave Seal on him.

"How daring, we are the Holy King's personal guards! The Holy King won't let this go..." The remaining Martial Cultivator panicked.

But before he could finish, the Spiritual Souls of those few surged into his Sea of Consciousness, seizing control of him as well.

Ye Liuyun instantly performed a Soul Search, immediately released the Flying Swallow, and pulled everyone into the Space World.

"Got it! The treasure is on this person!"

Ye Liuyun told Qiong Qi, boarded the Flying Swallow, and took off.

The Flying Swallow hadn't yet entered Xingkong when the Holy Land Dynasty's reinforcements arrived.

These strong ones were swift as well, immediately chasing after Xingkong.

Ye Liuyun pushed the Flying Swallow to full speed to flee, while the two Martial Cultivator strong ones pursued relentlessly.

"Let's see if you can catch me!"

Ye Liuyun knew the Flying Swallow's speed had already been boosted, so they certainly couldn't catch up.

But those two Martial Cultivators, knowing the treasure was on Ye Liuyun, kept doggedly trailing the Flying Swallow despite being unable to catch up.

"If you have the skill, chase!"

Ye Liuyun paid no mind and kept piloting the Flying Swallow away.

At that moment, his Golden Pupil spotted a fleet ahead, lined up in a single file, apparently to intercept him.

He instantly veered slightly and surged toward another direction.

But after traveling only a short distance, a line of warships blocked the road ahead.

If it were merely a warship, Ye Liuyun wouldn't be too worried.

He only worried that there might be a strong Martial Cultivator aboard the warship who would suddenly come out and attack him.

If there were only one, he could still escape and evade.

If there were two, once they cornered him, he would be in danger.

So he adjusted his direction again, only to discover that there was an interception ahead!

"Really strange! Could it be that they know I'm coming here to seize the treasure?"

Ye Liuyun was also quite puzzled.

Actually, this is merely because the Holy Land Dynasty recently suffered quite a few losses at the hands of the armies led by Yuan Hao and Ye Tiandao.

And the armies under Yuan Hao and Ye Tiandao have been constantly circling the Holy Land, which is why they had set up defenses in advance.

Ye Liuyun merely happened to catch up with them.

"Since we can't escape, let's fight!"

Ye Liuyun thought of this and had Pei Yong mobilize all the flying swallows under his command.

He didn't release them all at once, but instead sent out fifty of them, letting these flying swallows surround and attack the two Martial Cultivators pursuing him, and also wanted to test how effective the flying swallows would be against these Martial Cultivator experts.

Immediately, Ye Liuyun's flying swallows also joined the formation.

More than fifty flying swallows opened fire together, dazing those two Martial Cultivators.

One Martial Cultivator initially tried to intercept, but quickly realized that the energy cannon blasts from the flying swallows were too fierce, only slightly weaker than his full-force attack.

But by the time he realized he wanted to withdraw, he was already surrounded by the flying swallows.

Being besieged by more than twenty flying swallows, he was blown to pieces.

The other Martial Cultivator had been dodging from the very beginning.

Although he had been hit a few times, relying on his solid True Essence foundation, he managed to hold on.

But by then, even if he tried to run, it was too late.

He was still far from the fleet ahead and far from the Holy Land Planet; no matter which direction he fled, it was already too late.

He also realized that merely dodging wasn't enough, so he seized the opportunity and bombarded a nearby flying swallow.

As a result, that flying swallow was knocked away by him, its protective shield temporarily disabled and its flight capability temporarily lost.
