Chapter 2634: Releasing the Menace

The Soul inside that heart was still arguing slyly with Ye Liuyun: "What are you doing?"

I never intended to harm you; how can you repay kindness with hatred?

I only wanted to test your Soul power; otherwise how could I pass the inheritance to you."

At this moment, Ye Liuyun had already thrust the Demon Slaying Sword into the ancient demon's chest, and a little further would reach the heart.

"I don't want to waste words with you; bring out all the resources from this ancient demon's Space World, and I'll spare your life.

Otherwise, I'll just annihilate you!"

Ye Liuyun said directly.

"How can you do this..." the ancient demon tried to argue, but Ye Liuyun pressed down hard, and the tip of the Demon Slaying Sword pierced straight into the heart.

Though it didn't pierce the heart completely, the Demon Slaying Sword's special effect on the Demon Race made that Soul surrender immediately.

"I'll give you, I'll give you the resources; quickly pull the sword away!"

The Soul shouted at once.

Ye Liuyun immediately pulled the sword back a little.

But that earlier thrust had already left a cut on the heart.

Moreover, wounds inflicted by the Demon Slaying Sword on the Demon Race are hard to heal.

The Soul in that heart, daring not to delay, immediately controlled the ancient demon's Sea of Consciousness and transferred its Space World resources outward.

At the same time, the Soul within Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness was nearly half dissolved, and only then did Ye Liuyun begin a Soul Search to learn its origin.

Ye Liuyun's guess was correct: both Souls indeed came from the original owner of this heart.

It was an ancient demon who, after being slain, preserved its Soul and heart intact, awaiting resurrection.

Its original realm was the Sevenfold Sovereign realm.

But the energy supplying the heart was insufficient, so its realm and Soul power kept regressing.

Until it met this ancient demon strongman, it then lured that ancient demon to refine its heart.

But it didn't expect that the ancient demon, upon discovering the Soul inside the heart wanted to control it, would rather burn its own Soul to ashes than let the heart succeed.

The reason is simple: the Soul in the heart wants to control it to dominate the entire ancient demon clan.

And when that ancient demon self-immolated its Soul, it also placed a seal on its own Primordial Core, so the heart could not control its Primordial Core at all, unable to refine resources, leaving it like a half‑paralyzed person.

So the heart waited for an opportunity, preparing to find another host.

But it drifted too far in Xingkong, never encountering the ancient demon clan again.

Therefore, after meeting Ye Liuyun, it planned to first use Ye Liuyun's Physical Body to seek the Demon Race.

Yet the only power it could wield was Soul power, so it had to lure Ye Liuyun close before acting.

It had assumed the Soul was strong enough to easily handle Ye Liuyun, but didn't expect to meet a freak.

After one of its Souls was controlled, the other Soul dared not rush into Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness again.

Ye Liuyun searched again, learned the situation of that ancient demon's Space World, and indeed there were many resources—not a wasted risk.

So he let the Ten Thousand Gods Command directly annihilate that Soul, turning it into nourishment for his own Soul.

He thought keeping that Soul was useless; better to use it as waste.

The external Soul, after taking a lot of things, stopped.

"That's all, everything's taken out!"

it told Ye Liuyun.

"Is that so?"

Ye Liuyun retorted, and the Demon Slaying Sword sank and twisted again, carving a longer slit at the spot it had just pierced.

"Ah! Don't act, I'll search again!"

The Soul let out an immediate gasp and promptly continued extracting outward.

Ye Liuyun, too lazy to waste time with it, listed everything in that ancient demon's Space World, then threatened: "Give me everything; if any item is missing, I'll annihilate you directly!"

The Soul replied repeatedly: "I'll take, I'll take.

But what did you do with my Soul?"

It also realized Ye Liuyun had performed a Soul Search on that Soul, knowing it could no longer deceive, and dared not hide anything further.

"Annihilate it!"

Ye Liuyun said directly: "You dare attack me; would I still keep it?"

"Good, good, good, you're ruthless!"

The Soul dared not rebut, and could only keep handing Ye Liuyun items.

It even transferred several ancient demon worlds collected within that ancient demon's Space World out together.

Ye Liuyun thus gathered Primordial Power from over six thousand worlds, feeling elated.

Moreover, those ancient demon worlds also developed well.

Ye Liuyun immediately assigned his Clone, Lei Ming, and the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon each to claim an ancient demon world, and then he himself absorbed the remaining three ancient demon worlds into his own Space World.

Ye Liuyun, busy gathering resources and grinning broadly, paid no attention to the heart and the remaining Soul.

He originally intended to turn back and find a way to annihilate it, to avoid leaving another menace.

This ancient demon's Soul was truly extremely evil.

Its prior deeds surpassed even those of the Foreign Tribe, sparing not even its own kind.

Yet after Ye Liuyun had taken all the resources and turned around, he found the Demon Slaying Sword still lodged in that ancient demon's heart, but the heart and its Soul had vanished.

Ye Liuyun released his Golden Pupil and Soul to search everywhere, yet found no trace.

"Eh?

Where did it go?

"How did it escape?"

Ye Liuyun also looked astonished.

Only the heart's divine soul power remained, yet it could silently slip away from his side.

"How did it disappear?"

Ye Liuyun also queried the Demon Slaying Sword, even checking its interior, but found nothing unusual.

The Demon Slaying Sword's divine sense was clear, but it also didn't know what happened: "It just suddenly disappeared!"

Ye Liuyun helplessly took back the Demon Slaying Sword, then set fire to the ancient demon's corpse, burning it completely to avoid future trouble.

He then released the Hunting Falcon, having it search the surroundings, but found no trace of the heart, and finally had to leave helplessly.

Only after Ye Liuyun walked far away did the heart reappear.

But at this moment, its divine soul power had become quite feeble, having degenerated to the size of a deity.

"Damn human, I've remembered you! If I didn't have this special technique, I would really have fallen into your hands."

Just you wait; if you dare to act against me, you'll surely pay the price!

The soul spoke viciously, then hid within the heart and fell silent.

And the heart kept beating, thump-thump.

And the direction it was drifting was precisely the Yinhu Star System.

A few days later, a new Hunting Falcon warship detected the beating heart and was drawn to it.

The few people who disembarked from the Hunting Falcon were none other than Mo Tianheng, Mo Shaowen, and Liu Yang.

Since Ye Liuyun developed the new Hunting Falcon, they also asked him for one and began adventuring in the starry void.

Although their cultivation levels were only at the first or second tier of the Heavenly Human realm, they were all restless and loved adventure.
