Chapter 2689: Demon Beast World

After Ye Liuyun seized the uninhabited planets in most of the Northern Region, he prepared to start moving southward.

He first rushed to the planet that is the Demon Lion's home, that Demon Beast World.

During this time, the Demon Lion accumulated resources and, thanks to time acceleration in the Duplicate Space World, its realm has risen to Divine Crystal Shichong.

It already seals a massive amount of energy, and within its duplicate space world resources are plentiful, so it advanced quickly.

Only its size has remained unchanged.

Ye Liuyun estimates that it can control its own size.

He also finally handed the Demon Lion over to Liu Yunyao.

When Liu Yunyao asked what abilities it had, it surprisingly said it could steal things.

"You little thief cat! You're not allowed to steal your own people's things!"

Liu Yunyao clearly had not yet fully grasped the Demon Lion's nature and still thought it rather cute.

However, Ye Liuyun used a Slave Seal to control that 'thief cat', setting many rules for it.

It also dislikes staying in Liu Yunyao's Space World, so it often perches on her shoulder to bask in the sun.

"Let's go, I'll take you back to your hometown for a look!"

Ye Liuyun then pulled Liu Yunyao into the Space World, attached a duplicate, and used the Black Tower to teleport to the Demon Beast World where it was born.

This place is the border zone between the Northern and Southern Regions, where wars often break out on nearby planets.

Soldiers from both sides also frequently come here to hunt Demon Beasts.

When Ye Liuyun arrived, he found many landforms already ruined, apparently from numerous outsiders capturing Demon Beasts.

However, the Demon Qi here is abundant, and the Primordial Power remains intact, making it very suitable for the duplicate to harvest.

Liu Yunyao and the Demon Lion were also released by him from the Space World.

The Demon Lion felt nostalgic for this place; after emerging it gulped several breaths of Demon Qi to taste its hometown.

"There happen to be some barbarian soldiers and soldiers of your Liulin Dynasty here; I'll leave them to you to deal with."

"It's a good chance to test your cultivation results—drive them all off this planet within a day."

Ye Liuyun pointed two directions for Liu Yunyao, then let her take the Demon Lion to chase the people.

He, meanwhile, wore the Invisibility Cloak, secretly protecting Liu Yunyao.

The duplicate went to contact the local Primordial Power, preparing to directly harvest this planet into the Space World.

Liu Yunyao also donned double-layer soft armor, grabbed her long sword, and led the charge against the barbarian soldiers.

The barbarians are enemies of the Liulin Dynasty, so Liu Yunyao naturally showed no courtesy and struck directly.

These barbarian soldiers wore tribal beast‑skin garments, looking rugged and fighting fiercely.

Seeing a Northern Region Martial Cultivator who was also a woman, they all wanted to capture her alive.

But Liu Yunyao wielded Soul Devour, illusion, and a long sword; these soldiers were no match for her.

Although the enemy numbered a few hundred, their highest realm was only Celestial Being First Tier, far below her level.

The thief cat seized the opportunity to take a Storage Ring, then began stuffing corpses inside to store resources, saving Liu Yunyao the chore of clearing the battlefield.

Occasionally it also assisted Liu Yunyao by attacking nearby soldiers, leaping out to snatch a handful of eyes, then instantly retreating with great agility.

It harbored no goodwill toward these invaders, knowing they came to capture Demon Beasts, and was eager to help Liu Yunyao eliminate them all.

Liu Yunyao also used Red Eye to cast illusion, making some barbarian soldiers attack their own, and her Divine Soul Power had indeed increased considerably.

At that moment, the barbarian soldiers realized capturing Liu Yunyao alive was unrealistic, and immediately some drew bows to fire.

The barbarians, besides being robust, excel at archery, thus they usually hold an advantage over Northern soldiers in combat.

Their arrows fell like rain, one after another, leaving Liu Yunyao flustered.

Ye Liuyun merely observed silently from the shadows, letting her train on her own.

Amidst the panic, Liu Yunyao swung her long sword, able only to defend, unable to attack for the moment.

The thief cat suddenly sprang to help, darting out like lightning, weaving through the surrounding arrow rain, leaping over arrows as it advanced.

It did not attack, but slipped past the archers, stealing all their arrows, leaving them weaponless.

It even pilfered every arrow stored in their Storage Rings, leaving none behind.

This divine thievery truly lives up to its 'thief cat' title.

Ye Liuyun, with his Golden Pupil, stared closely at the thief cat and saw its gray‑blue iris flash, allowing it to enter anyone's Storage Ring at will—a clearly special ability.

Moreover, its spatial power was strong; once inside another's Storage Ring it could use Space Translocation to instantly empty all contents.

Later Liu Yunyao released a Flying Horned Horse, rode it up, and had it flap its wings to generate a gale that blew the arrows down.

She then summoned smaller Poison Scorpions and a Fire Crystal Qingshe to launch a surprise attack.

Though the Fire Crystal Qingshe was small, a single breath could spew massive flames, scorching the barbarian soldiers into shrieking chaos.

The Poison Scorpion moved swiftly, stabbing each archer with its venomous needle, quickly killing them.

Some soldiers initially felt no sting from the Poison Scorpion, but later suffered excruciating pain as the wound darkened and spread over their bodies.

The aftershocks of their battle attracted nearby Liulin Dynasty soldiers as well.

One of the captains even recognized Liu Yunyao and immediately produced a Transmission Talisman to report to Liu Yunheng.

Their unit was a squad of Liu Yunheng, often sent to help Liu Yunheng capture Demon Beasts for profit.

Liu Yunheng had learned of this place after the last time he harvested a Demon Beast.

"Are you sure you didn't missee?"

Liu Yunheng also double‑checked with the captain.

"No mistake, it's definitely the princess herself! She's also riding a black‑and‑white demon cat, mounted on a Flying Horned Horse, and has a fire‑breathing Qingshe.

But she's alone, without any guards."

He didn't notice the Poison Scorpion, so he didn't report it.

Upon hearing the black-and-white patterned cat, Liu Yunheng confirmed without doubt that it was Liu Yunyao.

Can you take him out?

Liu Yunheng asked the soldier.

This, judging by the princess's strength, we're more than enough!

The captain replied.

Liu Yunyao's cultivation had reached the third Heaven-Man stage; in the whole Liulin Dynasty, hardly anyone could surpass her, and only by relying on high-level tamed spirit beasts or numerical superiority could one win.

Then we'll find a way to hold him off; I'll immediately send troops to reinforce you!

After issuing the command, Liu Yunheng immediately mobilized the army and rushed to the Demon Beast World.

He also knew that relying only on soldiers wouldn't be enough, so he sent an accompanying Array Master over as well, to help kill Liu Yunyao.
