Chapter 3500: Hidden Formations

Ye Liuyun didn't mind the few troops Hou Yuanqi brought, he just didn't want to hard‑fight their Martial Cultivators.

He immediately had Qiong Qi and some Formation Masters set up more Formations around the army's camp, waiting for them to attack on their own.

Ye Liuyun estimates that since the Marquis of the Heavenly Realm's team dared to pursue, they must be confident in their strength, so he lets the Formation first wear down some of their strong ones.

He also released the soldiers early, letting them prepare for battle, so the opponent sees their soldiers' low level and becomes complacent.

The more than forty Martial Cultivator strongmen in his hand are temporarily hidden inside his Space World, ready to strike the opponent by surprise.

During this time, Peng Lie, Heibai Wuchang and other Martial Cultivators obtained many resources, boosting their strength. Even Meng Yunshan, Chen Xiang, and Qi Tianlin also joined the Death Legion, gaining plenty of resources needed for their own cultivation in battle.

The Monster Beasts obtained even more resources, and also teamed up to capture many Martial Cultivators' souls, storing them as resources for soul cultivation.

They are mostly of pure bloodline, so once resources are sufficient, their realm advancement speed is no slower than Ye Liuyun's. They just started a bit later, so their realms are one layer lower than Ye Liuyun's.

But they even dare to face Martial Cultivators of the Fifth and Sixth Layers of Taixu. On one hand, their armor and weapon grades are high; on the other, many can use Black and White Light.

Even without Black and White Light, they can use Red Pupil Illusion Technique, so their true combat power is very similar to Ye Liuyun's; even in cross‑level battles they can kill opponents in an instant.

Hou Yuanqi's Martial Cultivators and main army, led by the mastiff, rushed straight toward the camp where Ye Liuyun's group is.

The mastiff first spotted Chen Yueying and immediately howled.

The Monster Beast beside Ye Liuyun instantly understood the howl and told him that the mastiff was looking for Chen Yueying.

Ye Liuyun originally intended to lead Martial Cultivators and Chen Yueying into the Formation to first eliminate the Martial Cultivators Hou Yuanqi brought, but he immediately changed his mind, leaving Chen Yueying at the army's base and assigning Xiong Tianchuan and An Ying to guard her, one bright and one dark.

When Hou Yuanqi and his men saw Chen Yueying, they hesitated no more and launched an attack on them directly.

Among their Martial Cultivators there were also two Formation Masters, but they could handle ordinary Formations, a few

They couldn't see the more hidden chain Formations.

"Let them enter the Formation! Their Formation Masters are no good, let them have some fun first, break some ordinary Formations, and when they all come in, give them a big loss!" Qiong Qi immediately reminded Ye Liuyun.

"Can the Formation withstand the impact of their massive army?" Ye Liuyun worried they might break through the Formation directly.

"It can hold for about fifteen to thirty minutes, which should be enough for you to eliminate those Martial Cultivators!" Qiong Qi analyzed.

"Alright! Black Mountain, ready the heavy crossbows!" Ye Liuyun immediately ordered the Demon Race soldiers of Black Mountain to prepare defenses. At the same time he had the Martial Cultivators and Monster Beasts inside the Space World ready for battle.

They have so far only upgraded nearly ten thousand heavy crossbows; the fire‑power battle tanks are not yet finished, so Black Mountain can only rely on the crossbows. Black Mountain also prepared the few Golden Dragon Kuailei and the older fire‑power battle units Ye Liuyun gave him, which can still be of some use.

Ye Tiandao and Chen Yueying also led the Death Legion, ready for battle.

The opposing hundred‑thousand‑strong army, at first seeing the rolling Demon Qi of the Demon Race's massive force, felt a bit worried.

But Hou Yuanqi thought that once the Formation is broken, their Martial Cultivator strongmen could rush into the enemy camp, and capturing Chen Yueying alive would be no problem. As for the main army, victory or defeat mattered little.

He hadn't expected a Demon Race army at Ye Liuyun's side before, but seeing that they were only at the first or second layer, he didn't care.

Moreover, seeing that Ye Liuyun's side lacked any masters and had adopted a defensive strategy, he assumed Ye Liuyun intended to block them with the Formation, so he ordered the entire army to charge full force.

Ye Liuyun didn't idle either; he used spiritual energy in the air to condense a massive Thunder Dragon Beast, attacking the enemy's central forces. He didn't dare let the spirit‑energy Thunder Dragon Beast get too close to the Formation, so he let it first strike some soldiers to disrupt their formation.

Maintaining the size of the spirit‑energy Thunder Dragon Beast against the army's formation attacks was taxing for Ye Liuyun. Although the soldiers' realms were low, their coordination was far stronger than the Martial Cultivators, so he had to constantly repair it.

Although each sortie of the spirit‑energy giant beast killed many soldiers, the main force of this battle remained the Martial Cultivators, not the soldiers; even if it could wipe out tens of thousands of soldiers, it wouldn't affect the outcome much.

Thus Hou Yuanqi let the army Leader also

not worry too much about the Thunder Dragon Beast's interference, and instead charge the Formation with full force.

Many Formations laid by Qiong Qi and other Formation Masters were broken by Martial Cultivators under the Formation Masters' command, and then further shattered by the army's charge, quickly tearing a large gap.

Hou Yuanqi didn't think twice, leading those Martial Cultivators to follow behind the Formation Masters, continuously clearing a path for the army.

Ye Liuyun didn't urge Qiong Qi, just watched those Martial Cultivators rush closer.

"Prepare to strike!"

When they were still more than ten li away from the camp's defensive line, Qiong Qi finally reminded Ye Liuyun, activating all hidden Formations.

For a moment, a buzzing sound of Formations drawing energy rang out.

"There's also hidden Formations!" the opposing Formation Master immediately told Hou Yuanqi.

They have already charged nearly half the distance; retreating now would not only fail to recover losses but also severely damage the army's morale.

Hou Yuanqi gritted his teeth and decided to lead his men to break through the remaining Formations in one push.

He thought that even if hidden Formations remained, their Martial Cultivators and army would still break through them; at worst the losses would be a bit larger.

Thus Hou Yuanqi's Martial Cultivators and army never retreated; instead they charged even harder.

What they didn't expect was that these hidden Formations were far more powerful; various energy attacks instantly scattered the front troops. The Martial Cultivators fought desperately, yet people kept getting injured and falling.

"Damn, they have more skilled Formation Masters!" the two Formation Masters realized at that moment that their strength was inferior to the opponent's.

"Damned, it's useless to talk now! Everyone, keep charging forward; forward or backward is the same!"

Hou Yuanqi cursed, but now trapped in the Formation, his regret was too late; he could only attack the Formation with all his might. Fortunately, he and many Martial Cultivators of the Hou household were relatively wealthy and possessed some Defense Artifacts, so casualties weren't huge.

Actually, when Qiong Qi spoke, they had already been unable to retreat; Qiong Qi only wanted to be safe by pulling in a few more people.

Seeing them not retreat but advance, Qiong Qi finally activated all hidden Formations. Then he led some Monster Beasts with Ye Liuyun into the Formation, moving toward them.

"You only handle the killing; I'll take care of capturing the Martial Cultivators, and I'll also search for Hou Yuanqi's souls."
