Chapter 3541: The Strongest Mercenary

Ye Liuyun and his group's strength is indeed considered weak among the mercenary forces of Royal City, and no one has confidence in them; everyone thinks they are just going to die.

"The mercenary corps of Royal City are all very strong!" Chen Yueying observed, noting that the mercenary corps here have relatively high realms.

Ye Liuyun smiled, "Isn't that just perfect for us to practice? Our strength has improved a lot lately, and we should look for stronger opponents. Moreover, the higher the realm, the more resources we have in hand."

"Why does it sound like you're a bandit, always eyeing others' resources! I feel like I've learned the wrong ways from you. How did I ever board your pirate ship!" Chen Yueying teased Ye Liuyun.

"Haha, you should be grateful you boarded my pirate ship; otherwise your realm wouldn't have risen so fast!"

Ye Liuyun laughed and continued chatting with her.

"Exactly, only robbery is the fastest way to acquire resources! I love being a bandit!" Lei Ming interjected.

They laughed and talked up front, paying no attention to Xu Rong and the others following behind.

After they left the city and walked for a while, Xu Rong's group finally called them back.

Xu Rong had been ignored all the way, his heart brimming with resentment; he had never been treated so lightly before.

So as soon as he appeared, he couldn't wait to act: "You've chatted enough; let's stop here. In your next life, remember not to be a mercenary again!"

"Fine, let's be blunt and quick!"

Ye Liuyun said nothing more, immediately releasing the Ninth Realm Black Panther and the Eighth Realm Qingshe. At the same time he summoned more than ten Seventh Realm mercenaries, surrounding them, and then he selected one Seventh Realm mercenary and fought him with all his might at a spot.

Lei Ming chose a Sixth Layer Realm opponent, Chen Yueying fought a Fifth Layer, Long Nv battled a Fourth Realm mercenary, and several other monster beasts teamed up against a Fourth Realm mercenary.

The remaining higher‑realm foes were handled by their side's mercenaries, who tried to encircle rather than strike, leaving them to Chi Lian to absorb Bloodline Power.

Cheng Huofeng and Chang Ji hid aside, watching the spectacle, having no chance to intervene.

Xu Rong immediately reacted, "Damn, I was careless!"

But it was too late to regret. Both of his opponents were of higher realm and extremely agile; once they tangled him, he couldn't escape.

On Ye Liuyun's side, he used his physical body to harden, slashing a Seventh Realm opponent with full blade intent, then coordinated with the Black Panther and Qingshe, using his sixth‑grade flying sword to disrupt Xu Rong.

Seeing he couldn't flee nor win, Xu Rong immediately launched a Spiritual Soul Attack on Ye Liuyun; otherwise he had no other option.

Ye Liuyun had long been prepared, knowing that in this situation either he would be wounded and captured, or he would be hit with a Spiritual Soul Attack and have a Slave Seal placed on him. They had already used this method to capture many strong ones before, repeatedly successful.

Xu Rong was the same; although he had cultivated two Soul Sources, none weak, after entering Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness he was still enveloped by the Golden Light of the Ten Thousand Gods Command and forcibly had a Slave Seal placed on him by Ye Liuyun.

However, Xu Rong still retained a weaker Soul. At this moment he suffered a backlash; with a "Puff" sound he spat out a mouthful of blood, and the remaining Soul was backfired.

Ye Liuyun immediately used Red Eye to cast an illusion, forcing that weaker Soul into his own Sea of Consciousness and fully placing a Slave Seal on it.

As for his few subordinates, Ye Liuyun left none alive. Apart from the three who were training—Lei Ming, Long Nv, and Chen Yueying—who were killed by the three of them, the other mercenaries had their Bloodline Power drained by Chi Lian.

Chi Lian's realm has recently been the fastest to advance, nearly breaking through to the Fourth Realm, and as the Martial Cultivator realms rise, her own progression accelerates even more.

After subduing Xu Rong, Ye Liuyun began Soul Search to learn the local situation, then let Xu Rong lead the way and eliminate their Demon Wolf Mercenary Corps entirely.

"Now I have an Eighth Realm mercenary; wherever we go, will no one dare to provoke us anymore?" Lei Ming worried that Xu Rong's realm was too high and would intimidate other mercenary corps.

"Right, we can't let him appear often!" After her reminder, Ye Liuyun immediately sealed Xu Rong into the Space World.

In the subsequent battles, they again took the lead, with the same result. He didn't even use the Black Panther or Qingshe. When encountering a Seventh Realm mercenary, he would duel it alone.

If there are too many high‑realm foes, he releases some high‑realm mercenaries to surround them, letting Chi Lian absorb Bloodline Power as much as possible. Long Nv and Xiao Lan Bing's Soul relics can also help slay Fifth and Sixth Realm Martial Cultivators.

Thus, a few days later, they successively wiped out six mercenary corps of Royal City, capturing six corps leaders to serve as their own mercenary members.

They also gathered plenty of resources; the mercenary corps here are indeed far richer than those of the smaller towns.

"That's enough, let's take on a mission!"

Ye Liuyun felt this was enough to deter other mercenary corps, so he stopped targeting mercenaries.

News that Xu Rong had become Ye Liuyun's subordinate spread among the mercenaries as soon as they appeared.

"Is the Wolf Hunt Mercenary Corps really that strong? They even captured Xu Rong alive!"

"It's not just the Demon Wolf Mercenary Corps; there are several others! Their strength far exceeds the surface, it's like a pig pretending to eat a tiger!"

"With Xu Rong, the strongest mercenary, their power will only grow; who dares to trouble them now!"

The mercenaries cast respectful gazes at them, and no one dared to speak idle words.

Ye Liuyun carefully examined the missions and selected two bandit‑suppression tasks.

"Master, each of these bandit gangs numbers nearly a hundred, all are Demon Cultivators, and their realms aren't low. Even the Demon Wolf Mercenary Corps wouldn't dare take such missions before!" a newly subjugated mercenary promptly reminded Ye Liuyun.

He had never entered Ye Liuyun's Space World, so he didn't know how much power surrounded Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun merely smiled and said, "No problem, you haven't seen Xu Rong object! Rest assured!"

Then he led the mercenaries straight out of the city to carry out the missions.

"They're actually going to attack Heihu Zhai!"

"And the Han Jiang bandits! Is the Wolf Hunt Mercenary Corps really that strong?"

Other mercenaries, though no longer daring to mock them, still doubted their strength and couldn't believe they would tackle such a large bandit group.

Xu Rong, however, wore a relaxed expression. He had seen Ye Liuyun's subordinates include over a hundred Sixth and Seventh Realm mercenaries, plus Ninth Realm ferocious beasts and Kuailei, and knew handling those bandits would be no problem.
