Chapter 3543: The Demon Race Suddenly Appears

"Go there first, lest they escape; we can rest after we arrive," Ye Liuyun said calmly.

"Yes!" Xu Rong, under Ye Liuyun's Slave Seal control, could not argue. He immediately led him to rush toward the Hanjiang Bandit Group.

The Hanjiang Bandit Group occupied a mountain range, with a relatively large territory. After arriving, Ye Liuyun first used his Golden Pupil to scan the surroundings, then employed Spatial Power together with Xu Rong to strike, eliminating several scouts, and performed a Soul Search to gauge the Hanjiang Bandit Group's strength.

He then stood guard around the mountain's perimeter, waiting for the Monster Beasts to recover their True Essence.

"Does the Hanjiang Bandit Group have any connection with the Demon Race?" Ye Liuyun asked Xu Rong.

"I've never heard of that. However, Demon Cultivators do have ties with the Demon Race, which isn't unusual!" Xu Rong told Ye Liuyun that some Demon Cultivators are related to the Demon Race, which is quite common.

Ye Liuyun nodded, pulling Xu Rong into the Space World as well, letting him accelerate his True Essence recovery, as a battle might occur soon.

The other mercenaries he had just captured were assigned to disperse and search for the Hanjiang Bandit Group's scouts. They had not exerted much force in the earlier fight, making them suitable replacements.

The reason he suddenly became so cautious was that during the Soul Search he discovered the Hanjiang Bandit Group had recently received two demons, who were discussing something with Hanjiang, likely plotting against the Royal City.

Those two demons were at the Seventh Layer of Taixu, not a high realm, but their Physical Bodies and Demon Qi far surpassed those of Demon Cultivators, so Ye Liuyun needed to make thorough preparations.

He planned to have the Sealing Demon Tablet deal with Hanjiang, the Black Panther handle one demon, Xu Rong handle the other, and leave the rest to Qingshe, the Metal Puppet, and the other mercenaries, thereby eliminating most of the bandits.

However, the Hanjiang Bandit Group was cautious; when the scouts failed to report on time, they became alert immediately. The entire bandit group gathered at once, preparing their defenses.

So by the time Ye Liuyun and his party had rested enough to go, the bandits had already concentrated together, also seizing the high ground using the terrain.

Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil also spotted the two demons flanking Hanjiang.

"Later, you two try to capture them alive; I need to Soul Search for information!"

Ye Liuyun immediately sent a Transmission Voice to the Black Panther and Xu Rong, aiming to capture those two demons and see what they intended here.

The mercenaries and Monster Beasts within his Space World were also released.

"Lei Ming, Black Tortoise, Shadow, sneak close and use Black and White Light to kill as many bandits as possible!"

Ye Liuyun first dispatched Lei Ming and two Black Tortoise beasts.

Hanjiang, up on the mountain, felt somewhat worried after seeing their realms. Fortunately they still had some terrain advantage, otherwise it would be even harder to fight.

The two demons were also nervous, not expecting the opponent to have so many powerful Martial Cultivators.

After Lei Ming and the Black Tortoise killed several bandits, they were immediately spotted. The enemy promptly sent a bandit with strong Spatial Power to probe their position, but the Black Tortoise eliminated him with Black Light.

"Withdraw!" Ye Liuyun told Lei Ming and the others to pull back when the time was right; his Golden Pupil had already seen several high‑realm bandits preparing to strike, fearing they would be at a disadvantage.

He then immediately led everyone in a charge.

Zhu Que and Qiong Qi teamed up to unleash Fire Flame Power. Their fire power couldn't kill the bandits, but its main purpose was to obscure the enemy's vision, allowing him and Lei Ming, Bai Hu, the Nine‑Headed Demon Dragon and others to launch Technique attacks; Long Nv and Xiao Lan Bing also seized the chance to strike with Soul Relic attacks.

The front‑line bandits fell instantly; some had huge holes blown through their chests, others had their souls extinguished. Chen Yueying seized the moment and shot an arrow decisively, killing a Seventh Realm bandit.

At that moment, Ye Liuyun teleported the Metal Puppet into the bandits' ranks. The Metal Puppet brandished its Tian Shi, instantly cleaving several nearby bandits in two.

Then the Sealing Demon Tablet slammed directly onto Hanjiang's head.

The Sealing Demon Tablet's suppressive effect on the Demon Race caused the two demons to instinctively dodge; Ye Liuyun, braving several Demon Cultivator bandits' resistance, surged forward, a Technique striking Hanjiang's chest without lingering combat.

Immediately, the Black Panther and Xu Rong rushed forward, each attacking a demon. Qingshe also charged in, blocking all attacks aimed at Ye Liuyun.

The mercenaries behind Ye Liuyun also plunged into the bandits. Though the bandits held some terrain advantage, ordinary bandits were no match for the Metal Puppet and Qingshe, especially with Monster Beasts using Black and White Light in concert with the mercenaries.

Their realms were lower than those of the mercenaries, so they were quickly slain in return.

Hanjiang grew even more frustrated; he had hoped to leverage his own realm and the two powerful demons for an edge, but Ye Liuyun suddenly unleashed the Metal Puppet, two ferocious beasts, and a Demon Cultivator of the Eighth Realm.

This left them with no advantage at all. Moreover, before Hanjiang could launch an attack, Ye Liuyun pierced a huge hole through his chest.

In desperation, he unleashed his own Soul to attack Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness. Ye Liuyun merely sneered, disregarding the soul attack, rushed forward and cleaved Hanjiang's head with a sword, seizing his Storage Ring.

He then performed a Soul Search on Hanjiang, discovering that the two demons were sent by the Demon Race as spies, bribing Hanjiang to supply them with long‑term information on the Royal City.

Hanjiang, for profit, actually agreed; these past two days they have been devising how to plant scouts inside the city.

"I really arrived just in time!"

Ye Liuyun hadn't expected him to catch up on this matter.

Although he didn't want to involve himself in Southern Region affairs and held no prejudice against the Demon Race, those two demons he certainly wouldn't let go, hoping they could later help him infiltrate the Demon Race.

So he ignored everything else, tossed Hanjiang's Soul into the Refining Soul Cauldron, and immediately charged at the demon that Xu Rong was attacking.

The demon the Black Panther was attacking had lost any ability to retaliate; the Black Panther, using its speed, had stripped off many of its scales, leaving it badly wounded and likely unable to escape, so Ye Liuyun wasn't too concerned.

Although Xu Rong's side also held an advantage, it wasn't yet clear. After Ye Liuyun joined, he first used a curse attack, then wielded the Demon Slaying Sword to block the demon's retreat.

The demon was caught off guard by sudden Buddha Light emerging within its body; in panic it was punched by Xu Rong straight into its chest and sent flying, then struck on the shoulder by Ye Liuyun's sword.

It immediately released its own Soul, but instead of entering Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness, it attacked Xu Rong's.

"Does it think Xu Rong's realm is high enough to eliminate him first?"

Ye Liuyun was momentarily stunned, but then released his own Soul Source into Xu Rong's Sea of Consciousness to assist. Recently the transcoding has been severe, giving us more motivation, updating faster, please click a little to exit reading mode. Thank you.
